We discovered this workshop by chance on a lovely, quiet street lined with trees on both sides. Just the street alone was a pleasant change from the bustle and crowdiness of the other streets in the center of Urubamba. Upon entering we were treated to an even nicer surprise, a handsome building that served as workshop and store for artists... More

On my first day in the Sacred Valley, adjusting to altitude before going to Machu Picchu later in the week, I was privileged to tour the Seminario workshop and gallery in Urubamba. I highly recommend it. Pablo Seminario, his wife Marilu Behar and a team of artisans carefully hand make creative ceramics mixing the contemporary with ancient Andean techniques and... More

Pablo Seminario creates new cermaics using ancient Perucvian techniques and designs. The store is in front of the shop, and the staff has video and other presentations to show how they do the work. His pieces are traditional, a bit whimseical, and beautifully colored. Prices on his works were attractive.

We visited the studio and were given a guided tour of the whole creative process including a chance to to talk to the artist about his work and how the studio developed. The tour ended in the studio shop where work of all types, prices and sizes was available for purchase but with no 'hard sell'. This is a great... More

We were fortunate to meet with the artist in his studio. Such interesting artwork! He discussed his philosophy of his art work and his inspirations.

What a fascinating studio/gallery to visit in the heart of the Sacred Valley. An extra bonus was meeting the Master himself and to get an inside knowledge into his work. The tour started with a short film and then we were escorted throughout the workshops where we could see first hand the wonderful creations been made as well as the... More

I had heard and seen the work of Senior Seminario prior to our visit to Cusco. We placed a visits to his studio of our places to see while we explored the area. While it is a distance from Cusco proper, it is not difficult to add a stop at the work shop/gallery while exploring the other towns of the... More

We had the pleasure of visiting Mr. Seminario's studio and were pleasantly surprised to learn that some of his ceramics are on display in the Smithsonian Institute in Washington D.C. We had a fascinating tour of his ceramics workshop and we were able to see all facets of making these beautiful ceramics. We were also able to purchase at a... More

Mr. Seminario is truly a master of his craft, and the tour of his studio complex is interesting and rewarding. Mr. Seminario himself is charming and engaging. However, most of the stuff for sale in his shop is mostly generic work made by his many employees. The special fine art pieces he creates are large, heavy, and deservedly extremely expensive.... A funky little place tucked off the main road from Yucay to Urubamba keeping the traditional ceramic styles alive in a very modern way. We were lucky enough after watching a 7 min video explaining how all the pottery is made by a"family" of local and locally trained men &women to meet Mr Seminario- half of husband & wife team...
