We used KB Tambo tours for transportation, sightseeing and mountain biking. Everything was flawless from communicating / paying the deposit with the owner KB to having his main man Ferdinand down in Ollantaytambo pick us up at the Cusco airport to take us to Pisac and elsewhere. We also did the Abra Malaga mountain bike ride down the mountain pass. Our bike guide Jose Manuel was great as he gave us a nice tour of Ollantaytambo before the ride (very proud is his incredible community) and he was super safe on the bike ride. Ferdinand drove us up the pass and drove behind us to ensure our safety. Hardly any traffic. Highly recommend this and any/all tours With the KB Tambo tours

The BEST experience! This is was my second time back to Peru and the difference in experiences was night and day! My first trip in 2013 was a pretty standard tourist trip, seeing the things everyone sees when they go to cusco/machu picchu. My experience in 2023 with KB Tambo was extraordinary! From incredible bike touring, to hiking to the sun gate in Ollantaytambo, to experienced and knowledgeable guides that got us to Machu Picchu before the masses so we could have an unencumbered view of the beautiful ancient city!

We had a great time in Peru. KB helped me navigate and plan my family trip. They provided for our transportation for our full day Sacred Valley tour as well as airport transfer from our Ollantay hotel. Our vehicle was a brand new, pristine clean Toyota van. Their driver Ferdinand was very safe and always arrived on time as requested. I definitely recommend this company to any family with kids on their Peru trip.

I CANT SAY ENOUGH GOOD. We booked a custom trip to mnt bike and hike Machu Picchu with KB Tambo and I was blown away with how seamless and fun the trip was. I’ve traveled a ton and I don’t think I can ever go back to handling the logistics myself. We just booked another trip to go to Cuba with KB 🤣

My husband and I went to Ollantaytamo in mid-May 2022 for a mountain biking adventure. We had a great group! We met our guide Yuri and driver Gato on a Friday and for an entire week we were a family. We kicked off the MTB adventure on top of the world, we rode steep, rocky, wet, mushy, dry and rocky conditions. We were challenged and rewarded with increased skills, confidence and amazed by the epic beauty of the Sacred Valley. Yuri was a wonderful guide. He taught all of us skills to help us become better bikers, introduced us to his culture and made us feel like we were his own brothers and sisters. Gato, was the best driver! Without fail each day he loaded our bikes and safely transported us to our location. Yuri and Gato patiently practices Spanish with us and just welcomed us with open arms to this amazing world. I was so sad when the trip ended and a part of heart remains in Peru. This was the best experience I have had in my short 42 years on this earth. I would encourage anyone and everyone to spend time in this valley. Without a doubt it will change your life!

We can't recommend KB Tambo enough! My boyfriend and I did two 3/4 day trips (Pisac one day & Maras, Moray, Chincheros another) around the Sacred Valley with Fernando. Fernando was AWESOME. Super kind & caring and easy to talk to (even with our limited Spanish we were totally able to understand each other). We had some brief planning conversations with KB and he was great too! This is really a great way to travel around the Sacred Valley with knowledgeable drivers! Highly recommend to all.

This was the most amazing way to see Machu Picchu and the Sacred Valley! Having the guides coordinate transportation and tell us the history was an absolute game changer. They gave us an insider scoop on the culture and were very trustworthy. We even got a cooking class from our guide Gato's family. Would 100% recommend!

Fantastic experience on a MTB ride with Fernando. We started at elevation @15,00’ and had a spectacular ride down to Patacancha. Scenery was breathtaking and ride felt safe with Fernando in lead and driver behind me. Had a great experience with a local family, hosted for lunch and weaving demonstration. Perfect day!

We took KB Tambos horse riding tour in march 2013. It was a disaster from start to finish. The car did not pick us up from our hotel. We were then put on horses with no instructions how to ride. We had to demand helmets and were then taken up a path which was complete unsuitable for me as a complete begineer. The path had a sheer face down one side and any stumble by the horse could have resulted in a serious accident. The horses also had no bit in their mouth to stop them.

If you can spend the extra money and use a better tour company for a horse riding tour in the sacred valley.

Thank you for your feedback. We have learned that most travelers can read between the lines on these reviews, and that sometimes you just can't please everyone.:) Actually, nothing went wrong at all. You asked for helmets to ride a horse (first time that has happened to me in 9 years) and you were given one. The normal path we take (we have done 100's of horse trips with no incidents whatsoever) you didn't like, so the guide took you on the only alternate route (the road !) with no problems up to the ruins and back down. Ollantaytambo is a remote village deep in the Andes mountains, so we were a bit surprised to hear that you were unhappy that the route was mountainous, and we will videotape the entire route for future guests, so that they may see the route before booking. Sort of ruins the surprise in our opinion, but we want everyone to be happy. People often have the cowboy image of a horse gallantly galloping across a green field with riding crop and helmet, but really these are just basic mountain horses going up a hillside. Most people really enjoy it, though, this is one of the only complaints we have ever received. Any one with questions, feel free to write me directly at kbperu@hotmail.com We encourage you to shop around (and will even help you by giving you the info of the other tour companies in town !) but they all use the same horses and same routes as we do, its a tiny town. No one else has helmets for horses, either, though we are going to get some now. Thanks, KB, the owner

We did the Abra Malaga bike ride with KB Tambo and we had a great time! We were picked up at our hotel by our guide Irvin and drove to the top of the Abra Malaga pass to begin our ride. We were given a safety briefing via email a few days before and were told what to expect. The ride was easy (all downhill) and the only peddling required was when the wind was against us. Fantastic scenery near the top and the culture and rural lifestyle can be seen throughout the ride. The best part for us seeing kids leaving school at the end of our ride just outside of Ollanta. They had huge smiles on their faces and wanted a high five from us. Overall this ride was a great mix of scenery and culture. Do not take lightly when warned that it is COLD up top. We are from an area with cold and windy winters, but the mist combined with the high altitude (4500m) early morning chill had my fingers colder than they have never been. I would recommend wearing thin gloves under the gloves they provide.

Besides the ride, KB is a great person and was very willing to offer advice to us before our trip. He answered many questions for us and we were happy to be able to have a great time and at the same time, support the wonderful work his business is doing. Thanks KB!
