About KB Tambo Tours
We are Ollantaytambo's first tour company, operating continuously since 2002. Will "KB" Janecek came from Colorado/Minnesota to Ollantaytambo to explore the mountains and learn the culture. He spent a decade and a half living in this tiny village, explored and learned, wrote a trail guidebook for the region, and made several adventure movies with RedBull and GoPro, among others. Today, he still answers each and every email himself - the best way to give you direct, one-on-one access to his vast knowledge of this area and the love he has for the people of Peru and his admiration for the Incas. We have a gear office in Ollanta but work primarily via email and we answer all emails very, very promptly !

We used KB Tambo tours for transportation, sightseeing and mountain biking. Everything was flawless from communicating / paying the deposit with the owner KB to having his main man Ferdinand down in Ollantaytambo pick us up at the Cusco airport to take us to Pisac and elsewhere. We also did the Abra Malaga mountain bike ride down the mountain pass. Our bike guide Jose Manuel was great as he gave us a nice tour of Ollantaytambo before the ride (very proud is his incredible community) and he was super safe on the bike ride. Ferdinand drove us up the pass and drove behind us to ensure our safety. Hardly any traffic. Highly recommend this and any/all tours With the KB Tambo tours

We can't recommend KB Tambo enough! My boyfriend and I did two 3/4 day trips (Pisac one day & Maras, Moray, Chincheros another) around the Sacred Valley with Fernando. Fernando was AWESOME. Super kind & caring and easy to talk to (even with our limited Spanish we were totally able to understand each other). We had some brief planning conversations with KB and he was great too! This is really a great way to travel around the Sacred Valley with knowledgeable drivers! Highly recommend to all.

We did a family outing to the Maras Salt Mines followed by a mountain bike ride from a small village down to the Moray Archeological site. Our guide and driver were outgoing, knowledgeable, patient and relaxed. The Salt Mines were more impressive than we imagined and the mountain biking (a combination of dirt road, trail and a little bit of cross country "bushwacking" was an excellent way to get a little exercise and see some of the locals away from the tourist sites. We would not hesitate to book another trip with KB and would love to come back some day with more time to explore the less visited places in the Sacred Valley.

We booked the full day taxi tour of Sacred Valley (Moras, Pisac, Maray, Ollantaytambo) and had a wonderful time. Our driver, Ferdinand, was FANTASTIC. I cannot say enough good things about him. He was a great driver and navigated unpaved roads with us feeling safe. He was a very kind and gentle person and he provided us fun facts (in spanish) about every place we stopped at. He even drove us to an extra stop in Ollantaytambo and was super flexible and patient. He definitely made the trip 100% worth it. Gracias Ferdinand!!
