Unreal place. So interesting. Amazing how the Incas did so much. Get a guided tour you learn so much more

Interesting historical site, the climb to the top is hard but worth it, the views of Los Andes are breath taken.

The climb is easy & it was interesting to visit prior to our visit to Machu Picchu. It's worth hiring a guide for all the information we received.

Great tour of Ollantaytambo. History amazing, views spectacular. Lots of colour in markets below. Steps a nice warm up before walking in a trail

This military archeological site is really worth the trip from Cuzco. Many tour companies offer half day trips on vans. The actual town is picturesque and the archeological site with the guided tour is a wonderful experience. Climbing not for the faint hearted.

This site is spell binding! Archaeology similar to that of Machu Picchu - but more open and able to climb from street level up to the Temple of the Sun. Glorious views! Even excellent sellers as you approach the entry. At least three to four...More

I visited in the late afternoon, it was not the peak season but this park apparently can be very busy. I found that visiting later in the afternoon it provided me with the best time for photos and I could then walk around the entire...More

Sure, Machu Picchu is great, but this archaeological park was pretty cool. Built into the side of the mountain overlooking the town of Ollantaytambo, this was the site of one of the Incan sun temples. The hike up the terraced side of the mountain can...More

Like us, for those new to Peru and wondrous about all those marvellous stone blocks so neatly-fitted together without mortar, this is a fantastic education. A steep walk up what I took to be a symbolic depiction of native people's ingenious use of terracing in...More

The 3 distinct classes of Inca Fabrication are visible from bottom to top where the Royal style overwhelms the senses. Mesmerized by meticulous work and perplexed on how they could do this, especially since the granite was transported from ACROSS the valley on the other...More

We did not hire the guide, but they are not expensive and can give you lots of good information as well as suggestions of other sites to visit. If I recall correctly, the guides charged about 80 soles for a tour of the site. More

I do not think you can enter that early, but couple of hours should be enough. We hired a private car (100 soles) to take us to moray and salt pits. Lots of cars on street and can negotiate price. It would be another 10... More
