Another impressive part of Machu Picchu!

Another impressive part of Machu Picchu! Easy to walk by and not comprehend how Machu Pu is made up of buildings, structures, rooms and plazas. One can gawk and look and miss the places in Machu Picchu.

Without a competent guide it is very easy to miss the context of the various structures.

The Machu Picchu experience is full of interesting and photogenic sites like this one. Get a good guide who will explain it all for you. Alternative is to be armed with good written material, but that makes for very slow going as there is so much to see and learn.

Stone construction in the Machu Picchu area
Oct 2019
During the guided tour at Machu Picchu it will be visible and properly commented by your guide. It is one of the best-preserved temple in the area, one can appreciate the large stones walls and the fascinating meaning in the context of the Inca culture.

Incredible
May 2019 • Solo
I took the trail here on a whim after asking permission from a guard at the peak. I almost turned around because I had no idea where the trail was leading and I was on my own. However, a guard showed up and guided me to it (it was 2 mins ahead). He gave me a tour of the site. I was the only one there during a busy day. Magical moment!

Very nice wall at its back
Feb 2019 • Couples
Located right next to the Temple of the Sun, as the moon was to the Inca was the wife of the sun. The back wall of this temple has a very nice smooth pillow like appearance with no mortar joints. What we found out when we went to the museum in Cusco was each of these blocks has special bronze links and stone cylinders locking them together - reason why they look so perfect without mortar and thus withstand earthquakes very well!!

This is one of the parts of the ancient city that your tour guide will take up to and completely explain. All is very impressive.

During our hike up the mountain we were honored to get to this spot when the sun was coming up over the ruins.

Sep 2018
The hike to the place is about 45 mins and quite easy compared to others not steep. The views along the hike is incredible. The view of Machu Picchu is just great! A really treat to your eyes. They close at 4am.
