Temple of the Three Windows
May 2019
The Temple of the Three Windows is located on the Sacred Plaza in the main Urban section. The long main wall features three large windows, facing east. This allows the rising sun to shine through, illuminating the sacred plaza. When visiting, take some time to appreciate the wonder of this structure.

Interesting

I was very interested in the stone wall with three windows. In my opinion, the style and performance are slightly different from the rest of the buildings in Machu Picchu.

Aligned with the Sun?
Mar 2019
The temple of the three windows is still intact. Supposedly there were 5 windows originally. The 3 windows represent apart of the world: The underground (Uku-Pacha) the heaven (Hanan-Pacha) and the present or the actual time (Kay-Pacha). The windows also represent the rise of the sun, an important event in the everyday life of the Inca population and they face east.
You should definitely visit this area when you are in Machu Picchu.

Open room with 3 massive windows
Nov 2019
The Temple of the 3 Windows is a large open room made of huge boulders with 3 massive windows in the middle. This temple is located within the larger Machu Picchu site and can be visited on the tour of MP.

Massive stone structure aligned with the sun!
Jan 2020
Massive stone structure aligned with the sun! Challenging to imagine how the stones, better call them boulders were placed to create walls for the massive structure, let alone aligning the windows to align with the sun. Extremely impressive!

Magical experience!
Jan 2019

It was a majestic trip with a lot of history and nature. You can have a nice view of the mother nature and Inca structures. If you go with tours guide, they can explain everything you need to know.

It is what it sounds like...it has three windows
Dec 2019
Since much of the ruins themselves are relatively modest (it is the setting that is spectacular here, not the ruins themselves - if you want to see ruins, go to Turkey, Egypt, Italy, Israel or Greece). All you see here is a stone structure with three windows. Pretty self explanatory really.

Nice photo stop of these archeological wonders of construction and civilisation. Just a pit stop in this place of so many wonders.

Sacred temple built around the Inca´s Sun myth
Oct 2019
A sacred temple that the Incas built around their key myth, Inti (the Sun). The three trapezoidal windows were built in such a way that the sun rays would pass through them and illuminate the adjacent square. Fascinating element of the Inca culture that your guide will explain during the tour.

you have to see this temple of the 3 windows. The views of the iconic huaynapicchu mountain make it a great photo location.
