Barranco tour is one of the best! The guide is well prepared and very polite. Great historical knowledge. The place deserves a three hours visit. Enjoy it. Try to get Sandra tour guided.

Our guide was José and he gave us a great view of Lima, it’s history, it’s present and most important places around downtown and Barranco neighborhood. Great tips of transportation in Lima and he was always polite and funny.

There are many guides at the main square offering "free" walking tours. I listened to a few of them before joining an English speaking guide with a red shirt that has a logo of a stop sign on the back with 2 feet in the stop sign. Be sure to pick this guide as Alexandro was by far the most knowledgeable guides of all the walking tours we took in South America. He gave us important background information on all the historic churches and government buildings in the downtown area, an explanation of the flags and uniforms on different buildings and personnel; a sto;p at the chocolate museum for free tastings; a stop at a pisco distiller for lessons and tastings and a stop for the best doughnut in Lima. Only 8 in the group so we had lots of time to visit china town and the surroundings over 3 hours.

I often do a free walking tour when I am new in a city. This one was one of the best. The guide was friendly and very knowledgeable. We met in Miraflores, had a free coffee then went on the express metro into the old town. Great to learn how to use the metro. The city tour was excellent and we covered all the 'must-see'. I was the only english speaking person in my group so the guide rang a friend and then I had my own personal guide. What great service. We finished up tasting Pisco at a 'brewery'. It was a fabulous morning. Please tip well when these guys are great!!!
