It was a nice gallery, but it doesn't exist anymore. I went ther in august 2018 and it was already closed. Better to update information here. (closed in 2018)

Contemporary Peruvian and other S.American artists

The works in the contemporary museum were all very interesting, and the curators know what they're doing to bring in diverse mediums and styles. Staff was great in answering questions. The gallery is a block away from the waterfront, and definitely should be part of any walking tour you make of Barranco.

Ask to see the art in the back Room!

The gallery is beautiful with a remarkable and diverse collection. The hotel next door houses much of their art as well so take a walk over to see more. Monika shared with us paintings in the back room which were beautiful. She shared stories about the works and the artists, many who are Peruvian.

Barranco art gallery with panache
Sep 2016 • Friends
Everyone comes to Peru for the history and the food but the art scene is also pretty vibrant. There are a number of excellent art museums and this is one of the more interesting art galleries.

Perhaps worth a visit if a specific exhibit has your interest.

Like cultural museums, art galleries have not yet had much time to develop and sprout in Lima. Lucia de la Puente’s art gallery is located in Barranco, Lima’s “bohemian” district which should eventually have more worthwhile art galleries. For the time being we have to content with the few galleries here and admire the persistence of their owners as well as in this case the tremendous work they have done in the refurbishment of historic buildings.
