The fastest way to get around Lima though somewhat limited in extent. We used it to get from Miraflores to central Lima. The buses are on a dedicated and segregated road so they travel very fast. You can buy a card and top it up...More

I used this system for a (return) journey from Miraflores to the historic centre of Lima and back. It was a Friday night, and was very busy - packed on the way in; less so later when I returned. It's not too difficult to navigate,...More

the metropolitano is very fast as it has its own lane through the city. It is crowded and sometimes you need to wait for the following one to go inside. You need a rechargeable ticket or give 2.5 s/. to somebody to let you in.

The el metropolitano is a tram/bus that runs from north to south in Lima. We took it from Miraflores to Downtown Lima and it was convenient and cheap. The bad thing is you need to first buy a card for 4.50 soles and then reload...More

After initially relying on taxis in Lima, we were told about the El Metropolitano. It's easy to use (Soles 2.50) and fast; it only takes 20 minutes from the old town to the trendy neighborhood of Barranco. It's a bit packed though, so be aware...More
