This is a low-cost local operator concentrating on trekking. They took us to Marcahuasi, and supposedly were going to include meals, transport, and equipment. First, they arrived late at our designated meet spot, with a busted van filled with people that had nothing to do with trekking or Marcahuasi. So we dropped his friends off on the way and lost 2 or so hours. Then, he was supposed to bring some equipment for us to use (at an additional fee) turns out it was just bits of old plastic which did not insulate us from the cold of the place. Meals were Ramen noodels, stale storebought whitebread sandwiches, and a juice box. Then, his friend and girlfriend he brought along were constantly throwing their trash around the park, which we had to pick up ourselves. It was an absolute mess.

Terrible service through and through! We were supposed to have a great weekend and instead it was a complete nightmare!
* We left the departing point two hours late because the buses arrived with a 2 hour delay.
* When we were finally in the buses, a man got in the and started charging for the trip. We asked whether he was Angel Savero (Mystical Trekking's general manager) and he denied being him. Later on we found out he was indeed Mr. Savero.
* He threatened not to go on with the trip if we didn't pay for it before we set off. Of course we all refused, considering the bad service received so far. After much arguing, he accepted to start the tour.
* To our surprise, the "experienced" driver had no idea how to get there, which meant that we arrived to our destination 4 hours late.
* Due to our late arrival, the itinerary proposed for the first day of the trip had to be changed, which meant that we missed some of the attractions offered.
* The tour guides were not prepared as such. They didn't talk at all and were rude to all the passengers because we were rightfully annoyed with this situation.
* Angel Savero, the person in charge, was not present at all during the whole trip and there was no one to answer for him. We never received a receipt nor an apology or explanation for what happened.
If you want to have a good experience DO NOT CONTACT MYSTICAL TREKKING! They are inexperienced, disorganised, unreliable, rude and the service overall is a total disaster!

a friend and i used this company picked at random to visit marcahuasi. i see some negative comments here but our experience was pretty good. no fancy treatment but we weren't expecting that. we had decent communication via email prior to the trip with all questions answered.
angel picked us up in lima, we changed a couple of cars and a bus to get to san pedro village. had lunch and horsebacked to marcahuasi. he set up the tent and the sleeping gear and made a simple dinner. it was a cold night and there were another group of people camping there who were loud but we dealt with it.
the next day we had a simple breakfast and then toured marcahuasi, a very mystical place. angel was knowledgeable and interested and showed enthusiasm. we explored a good part of marcahuasi and loved it. then we hiked down to san pedro and had lunch there. a bus ride and 2 cars later we were back in lima at night.
perhaps we enjoyed it because we kept a good attitude and didn't go in with high expectations and the price was unbeatable.
