Not sure how truly "local" this market is - when we were there it was thronged with groups of tourists. Lots to see & smell - fresh fruit & veg, seafood, meat, pasta, groceries, tourist souvenirs. Lots of stalls piled high with goods. A riot...More

Dropped into this local market on my last day and was glad I made the stop. For a tourist this a great place to visit to take in the atmosphere of the unglossed, real side of Peru! I had lunch at a place called Don...More

Great marketplace! This is the best place to buy quality fruit at good prices. They also have good seafood and other things such as a variety of nuts.

This market is easier to navigate than the huge Mercado Central and it has most of what you need. There are places to eat inside the market and around the market. I bought a ripe guanabana (soursop) which I took home and enjoyed tremendously.

It looks rundown from the outside but contains a good selection of stalls. It's great for fresh vegetables, spices and meat. The fish was variable in freshness. You can also eat at the market. In the surrounding streets you will find small shops selling kitchen...More

It's a wet market with few restaurants inside, actually nothing special for South America. But the food is absolutely perfect. We ate twice there at the restaurant Alex. The ceviche and the arroz de marisco are awesome. So cheap and so tasty! Give it a...More
