Peru Experience (and Morten Bruun specifically) was recommend to me by friends that have lived and traveled in Peru for many years. It turned out to be a great choice. Peru is a beautiful country with very open and friendly people. That being said, I HIGHLY recommend PLANNING your trip there. Its not really a good place to try and "wing it" in my opinion. This is where Morten really knocked it out of the park for us. Great communication resulted in a great itinerary. Our trip was focused on Cuszo and the Andean area of the country, but we would certainly love to go back and explore the coast as well as the Amazonas region.

So here are a few detailed reasons why I rate Peru experience a 5/5.

- They covered everything in the itinerary....so I did not have any logistical gaps....transfers, flights, access to sites, guides, hotels, etc. Do not underestimate the value of making all of these components come together.

-Morten's guides are great. We were very pleased. We did a private tour, and our guide really did know his business. It was not just some guy repeating what I could have read in Lonely Planet. I would also add that our driver and vehicle were both outstanding.

-Morten knows what to do if things go wrong. And yes, things can go wrong. Morten does not control politics, weather, or labor unions. Too bad for us. :) Machu Picchu was suddenly and unexpectedly closed to visitors for two days....the same days that we had available to visit. Morten's team made lemonade out of lemons, taking us to a series of spectacular archaeological sites that we otherwise would never have seen or even known about. AND....and this is the remarkable thing....he got our train tickets refunded. Believe me...that is not easy.

-Morten and Peru Experience are great with lodging. He put us in hotels that we would not have found on our own. Always clean, lots of character, and friendly. First class.

I could go on here, but suffice to say we were really satisfied with the whole process. Highly recommend that you give them a chance plan your next trip to Peru.

While much of Lima is not especially attractive or interesting (the exception being the museums), the old section is a fascinating area of architectural interest with history that informs both an understanding of the city and the area as a whole. The Peru Experience guide, Diana, was well informed, communicated clearly and brought to light many significant aspects of this part of the city. We highly recommend this tour.

A friend living in Peru recommended us to contact Peru Experiende prior to our trip to Lima.
Natasha was really helpful and organized a trip to Paracas, Ballestas and Nazca and a halfday gourmet tour in Lima.
Great service from Natasha and the tour guides were excellent.

My wife and I booked a private guide tour to explore the best of Lima and some of its best kept secrets.

Diana, our guide, showed us everything on our "bucket list", including Casa Aliaga, Plaza San Martin, Miraflores, Larco, the market, Barranco and much more.

After two nights staying at the Westin and having lunch/dinner at restaurant IK, La Mar and Kapallag, we traveled to Cusco, also with Peru Experience, where our guide Erick took us to the Sacred Valley, where we among others visited a local beer brewery with amazing beer, a salt mine plus the usual archeological sites in Pisac, Urubamba and Ollataytambo, before traveling to Machu Picchu with Inca Rail.

In Agua Callientes (Machu Picchu city), we stayed at Inka Terra, a lovely hotel with excellent food and service.
Machu Picchu is probably one of the most amazing places we have ever visited (we've been traveling quiet a lot) and is a must to explore before leaving this world ;)

After two nights at Terra Viva Central, Cusco city and visits to the local city incl. Museo de Pisco (great bar/restaurant), we returned to Lima to have lunch at restaurant Cala on the beach of Barranco.

Everything was perfectly organized, Diana and Erick was both incredible knowledgeable, kind and very service orientated. Hotels, transport, places to visit and restaurants were all incredible.

We chose to spend more than we usually do when traveling, as we had something special to celebrate this year. That said, Peru Experience also have more economic hotels and tours, which we may had considered, if we had brought our children.

Lima, Cusco, Peru was a very positive surprise to us and we'd love to go back and see Arequipa, Puno and the Amazon jungle, which we now understand is another must before, we leave this world - I love birds and wild animals.

I had a private guide who customized my day and a half.

They try to scare you on the ship by saying Lima is not safe. This was a scare tactic. Lima was the highlight lot my cruise. I was interested in seeing the art and architecture of Lima. My PRI ate guide spent a day with me going to wonderful galleries. We went to Delphins home(Delphin was the artist that did the "kiss" sculpture in milaflores. We also walked through Baracco I neibourhood. We went to two amazing restaurants. Stay tuned while I find the names of those places. At night we walked through the park that has the dancing lights and singing fountains. Well worth the walk. It is free if you are over 65. The different fountain centres have tunnels and sound and light displays. Wow.
The Indian market is enormous. It is a series of buildings. You can discover wonderful treasures there. I got 5 sweaters there. Two cute kids sweaters and three for gifts. Very reasonable. In milaflores there were some fabulous stores with baby alpaca sweaters, fabulous shawls and wonderful chocolate. Oliver Stanman was my guide. He and his lovely wife showed me an absolutely incredible day and a half. My best day ever!

We saw the change of the guard in the main street area.

I believe you will need help to navigate Lima. It is huge

The Lima Tour to Pacamaca is a great alternative to the trek to Machu Pichu. There are no altitude problems and it can be included with an interesting museum tour, a great lunch at el Fresca with Pisco Sours , Ceviche and a nice choice of mains as well as desert.

I would personally skip the cathedral visit, it is beautiful but includes a tour of the catacombs below with the dead bones of ancestors buried.
