We were wondering what in the world to do in Lima, when one of us said??? Well why don’t we take a Peruvian cooking class?
I thought it was a great idea to learn how to cook Peruvian typical dishes! However, I’m a big foodie that likes to eat and then eat and mmmm🤔eat some more. Not really cook, but I said oh well let’s give it a try.
So we decided to take Hector’s cooking class, he did not have any classes available the day off, but accommodated us (2persons) to an awesome cooking class. A chofer picked us up, then we picked up Hector and finally we made our way to the Miraflores market.
There he thought us how to pick our fish, conchas and shrimp and showed us all the different kinds of Chile’s, fruits, cheese and vegetables. Moreover, we went to a house where we were welcomed we a Maracuya Pisco Sour by Domingo (chef’s assistant).
At that time, I thought now we’re talking. I guess cooking can be fun too... lol. Hector gave us a great cooking class, while chatting and teaching us step by step. He was so nice to provide us with a pescatarian menu and we learned how to make causa de langostinos, cebiche and even pisco sours!
I honestly think this was one of the best things I could have done while in Lima. Now I can’t wait to go back home, and try the recipes that Hector provided for us! We will definitely keep in contact with him, and we hope to take more classes with him in the future.
