My wife and I recently spent a day in Lima as part of a long layover before catching our flight to Los Angeles.

Booked a day tour which included visits to Monastery of San Francisco (the catacombs are a must see), Plaza Mayor (check out where Pizarro's statue has been moved to) and the Larco Musuem.

Our guide Vanessa and driver Luis were not only feeding us interesting history stuff but also local anecdotes which we really appreciated. Through them we found out the ubiquitous Chifa Chinese restaurants were phonetic translations of "chi fan" or Mandarin for meals.

Speaking of meals, we took a break from the tour and experienced first hand why Lima has gained a reputation for fine dining - lunch at Central and dinner at Maido - were great.

Special thanks also to Senor Luis Hernandez who made a detour on our way to the airport to show us the Bridge of Sighs in Barranco district and also the statue of Chabuca Granda.

Before Lima, we had also booked our tour to Machu Picchu, Sacred Valley and Cusco with Perurooms.

All the arrangements were handled by Rosa Amelia who was extremely responsive and helpful. Everything went smoothly.

Highly recommend Perurooms.

We booked our 10 day/11 night tour of Peru with this company and we only have PRAISE for them. The lady who prepared our tour, Rosa, was very thorough and precise with our wishes and catered for every single one of them. She took into consideration the fact that we were travelling with two 11 year old girls and offered us many activities tailor made for what the girls would be interested in. The guides in Cusco and Puno were brilliant and very knowledgeable. Carlos, our guide in Cusco, was always receiving us with a smile, was able to answer all of our questions and was very patient with our shopping wishes which sometimes delayed the smooth schedule. Everything that was planned for us was lovely: the time in Cusco, the attractions offered, we did some white water rafting with Munaycha (a fantastic local company), horse back riding from Maras to Moray, kayaking at Lake Titicaca, and spent 4 wonderful days at the tambopata Reserve in madre de Dios. I can't wait to go back and plan another trip with PeruRooms!!!

We enjoyed everything about our trip to Peru thanks to Rosa Amelia Merino at Perurooms.com. Her help and advice proved accurate all the way. She is easy to reach by email and phone toll free to Lima at (888) PERU146, is bilingual, and SAVED our trip after we had a bad experience with a (different) travel agency.

We started planning our trip in January and were originally using a $2,000.00 gift voucher. We were limited to one travel agency, so we did everything we could to use the voucher; however, the travel agency was incompetent and things went from okay to bad to worse to panic-time.

When we realized we needed to START COMPLETELY OVER, we were extremely lucky to find Perurooms.com on Trip Advisor, and one by one, Rosa Amelia solved all of our problems, including getting us Vista Dome tickets to Machu Picchu (when several other agencies said it was too late for our Spring Break dates of travel) AND our flight from Lima to Cusco for much less than we were quoted by other agencies and the airline itself.

Her advice to go first to the Sacred Valley, then to Machu Picchu, then on to Cusco proved to be very helpful when one of our party found out he was very succeptible to Altitude Sickness.

Every tour and tour guide Rosa Amelia put us with was a TEN! We especially enjoyed the beautiful Casona de Yucay Hotel in the Valley and liked staying at the Hostel Presidente in Machu Picchu Pueblo (therwise know as Aguas Calientes). It's a very comfortable, clean, reasonably priced hostel right on the river, surrounded by restaurants and shopping AND only 20 minutes by bus from Machu Picchu which makes it easy to return there the next morning.

Our Cusco guide, Erica Palomino Alvarado, was THE BEST! She is knowledgable, English speaking, truly nice and patient. In fact all of our tour guides, and expecially "Gaturs" drivers were excellent.

Rosa Amelia Merino SAVED our trip in more ways than one. When we returned home, we realized we'd lost a backpack at the Lima Airport without our names in it! Because of her professionalism, effort and diligence, we actually got it and everything in it back!

Peru was a wonderful experience! Kind regards and happy traveling,

My husband and I booked a 13-day trip with Perurooms and I must say right up front that the service we received was nothing short of extraordinary. Our trip planner, Sra Rosa, Amelia was very professional, patient, and extremely accommodating as she planned our complex itinerary. We started our planning six-months out; Rosa worked diligently to provide an itinerary that included everything we wanted to see and a few others locations based on her advice.

The itinerary and package Rosa provided was very detailed with dates, times, tour info, transportation tickets, hotel info, etc. Everything was taken care of in advance. We were extremely impressed with all of the arrangements. We were promptly met at the appointed time and place every day along the way. Drivers and tour guides were friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. Hotels were quaint, clean, and located conveniently for tourists. Tours were well thought out, and while some trips between cities were rather long, our buses were comfortable and made stops along the way for quick photo opportunities or short tours of some interesting venue (e.g., churches, Incan ruins, marketplaces, etc.).

Our itinerary started in Lima followed by a bus ride to Paracas and the Ballestas Islands, back to Lima, a flight and stay in Arequipa, up to Chivay and the Colca Valley, over to Puno and Lake Titicaca, a motorcoach ride/tours along the way to Cusco, tour through the Sacred Valley of the Incas to Pisac/Ollantaytambo where we caught the train to Aquas Calientes and Machu Picchu, back to Cusco, and finally a flight back to Lima before heading home.

All tour tickets, hotels, transportation, and some meals were paid for upfront so there were no surprises and no hidden fees. It was well worth the extra expense knowing we didn’t have to worry about rental cars or finding our way around a country we had not visited before.

Our two week trip to Peru was a wonderful experience. There was no way we could have planned and coordinated the itinerary Rosa Amelia laid out for us on our own. We would highly recommend using Perurooms as your travel agent if you are planning a trip to Peru. They are very flexible and willing to accommodate any of your desires. You won’t regret it for a moment.

We had 2 separate tours arranged through Perurooms. The first one was arranged well ahead of time and was extremely well organized. All the bookings and timings of all the individual trips were perfect. For example we arrived at destinations early, ahead of the crowds. Rosa put a lot of effort into making our tours semi private according to our wishes. We were extremely impressed with the guides she had lined up for us.
The second tour was organized and finalized on a very short notice. There were some bumps and uncertainties at the beginning. But they were all dealt with swiftly, and Rosa made up for it by turning our semi private tour into a private tour. We were very happy with the service we received and would recommend Perurooms to anyone planing a trip in Peru.

My dad and I took an 11 day/10 night tour with Perurooms.com.
We travelled to Lima, the Sacred Valley, Machu Picchu, Cusco, and Paracas during our trip. We took a tour of Lima, Ollantaytambo, Maras, Moray, Machu Picchu, Cusco, Ballestas Islands, and a flight over the Nazca Lines from Pisco.
We had a fabulous time! Initially I hesitated booking with a tour company, but was really glad that I did. We saved time, and headaches by not having to deal with details while there. I don't think I have ever travelled so stress free. Rosa Amelia spent a lot of time tailor making the tour to my specifications, and I made many changes and asked a ton of questions(my husband said I was probably awful to deal with, as I am a bit of a control freak at times). Her communication was excellent and always extremely professional. When in Peru our guides and transfer drivers were always punctual & friendly. I expected some delays or issues during all the connections, but we didn't experience a single problem. I was very pleased with the hotels that were chosen and was surprised with the comfort of travel. There were no hidden fees, everything was upfront, well organized, and the comfort of travel was even better than I could have hoped for. During our trip Rosa Amelia checked in with us on a few occasions to make sure we were enjoying ourselves and that everything met our expectations. I highly recommend travelling with this tour company!

We recently returned from a five week trip to Peru which was put togther by Perurooms Travel based in Lima.

They put together a fantastic schedule - Nazca lines, Cusco, Machu Picchu, Rio Tambopata Reserve and numerous ancient sites on the northern coast and ending with a week on the beach in Mancora.

If you like things organised for you and totally stress free like me then I can wholeheartedly recommend them.
