I visited the park on a Sunday when lot of people visit the place. You can dance in the place with the locals are dancing to a sound mixer. Many, many cure cats to satisfy your maternal instincts. You can feed them, walk around and see and buy popular art.

This park is surrounded by streets, historic buildings, small shops, a nice church, new commercial establishments, and restaurants. The reason for the park is to recognize JFK and his relationship to Peru. However, the main reason people go the park is that the local cats seem to find this to be a safe haven for them. They are EVERYWHERE! Many of them are sleeping in some strange places--bushes, trees, the flower beds, the paths and benches. Even the locals are taking pictures of them.
There are some interesting sculptures in the park and some religious symbols. Many families bring their kids to use the playgrounds. The trees and shrubs are well marked for gardeners. It is a nice "nature break" to see a little green in a city that has a lot of cement, stone, hanging wires, and re-bar.

Walked through the park and immediately saw kitty’s walking around it was a nice interaction. You could sit, walk people watch and they had crews there cleaning at night also. Something different and simple to see.

I went to the Park on two occasions and was very disappointed.
The first was on a Saturday. It was crowded and seemed to be a big flea market. A number of stalls were selling books.
The second time was a Thursday and the park was closed. There were policemen at the entrances, so you couldn't get in.
A worthless 25 minute walk from my hotel.

Cute cats, pretty flowers, tasty sandwiches, and a very beautiful church.
I was feeling pretty down the other day but sitting in the gardens with the cats, listening to people singing in the church, was so peaceful it helped turn my day around.
100% would recommend for sad days. And to make happy days happier :)

Kennedy Park and June 7th Park are the neighborhood oasis in Miraflores. Craft fair, food vendors, flower gardens and lots of stray cats. Bordered by Miraflores City Hall and Iglesia Virgen Milagrosa. Worth a visit.

Looks like a pleasant park in central Miraflores, but could not be visited due to measures to contain corona. You could walk around though. Especially the flower beds looked nice!
At night I observed locals entering the park to feed the stray cats.
Wonder why the park is named after US president Kennedy known for his interventionist policies in Latin America and associated with the botched invasion at the Bay of Pigs (Cuba) in 1961.

I was killing time walking around when I came across this park. Apparently you can adopt cats from here. There were dozens of cats hanging around. And a beautiful church right next to the park.

This park is full cats and they are everywhere! The park is beautifully designed and is a really refreshing green space with plenty of places to sit and relax, providing respite from the busy city.

I was in Lima a month ago with a friend as part of a trip to Cusco and Machu Picchu. We had an afternoon off to explore Miraflores and headed for Kennedy Park/Central Park on foot before heading down Avenida Jose Marco to the parks and mall on the coast. The park, as noted by other reviewers, is a pleasant place to spend some time and observe the residents of the area. I had no interaction with vendors, so cannot speak to that. Of course, as a cat lover, I was gratified to see all the cats lounging about the park. However, I wondered about the back story as to why so many cats were living wild in the park and how they were taken care of, if they were. It turns out that some of the cats are feral, but many are domestic cats & kittens abandoned by their former owners. There is a volunteer group providing food and veterinary care to the extent that they can (I don't think the district of Miraflores does). The group is named Grupo Voluntario de Defensa Felina and can be found on Facebook under "Kennedy Park Kittens." (English page). There are also some interesting videos on YouTube. If you are interested in learning more, and perhaps helping with a contribution, please check out those sites. Otherwise, just enjoy the cats.

Can anyone tell me the name and/or get me contact information for the caricature artist “Tito” (I believe that is his name) who shows his work in the park? Last saw him on Sunday December 15. On his board are caricatures and realistic drawings of people including one of Marilyn Monroe. Thanks!

Sim, muito fácil! Em Lima e Cusco tem varias casas de câmbio , mas recomendo que pesquise antes os preços, pois variam muito!

Weekends only. I recommend making your purchase here if you because the Inca Market that people noted is more pricey. Understandably, they have rent to pay.

I find it interesting that the Spanish speaking reviewers do not like the park, while the tourist love it. Talking point--I wish the tourists would stop being so ignorant. These are feeling creatures, and their lives are horrible. It is well known that an outdoor cat lives on average only five years. How can you support this???? If you're a tourist and you visit this park, why don't you plunk down some of your money to get them some vet care, dewormer, and flea medication????

The cats appear to get lots of attention from tourists and locals alike. Their quality of like is better than cats living on their own in other parts of the city. Most of the people in the park appear to be local residents. They pet the cats and the children play with them.
My wife have four well cared for cats. We contribute to many different shelters and support cats in other places in the world.

Vale a pena fazer câmbio aqui? O câmbio funciona aos sábados?

Boa noite !
