This was such a fun experience! The food was delicious and the conversation was fascinating and full of laughs. Our guide, Lourdes, made us feel very welcome and was incredibly knowledgeable about both Peruvian cuisine and Peruvian history. I love that she was able to tie in the history and culture of Barranco seamlessly into the food tour. This was the highlight of our visit to Lima- I would highly recommend this to anyone!

Sylvia did an excellent job taking us around local areas and restaurants as well as a local market. We learned Lima history, ancient history, art, and current events. Truly an excellent experience and a fabulous way to spend half a day in Lima. We only had 1.5 days to spend total, and this tour was well worth 1/3 of our time.

My husband and I visited Lima for the first time in May 2021. Lima is internationally known for the food. For this reason, we decided to book a food tour. We selected the Lima Gourmet Company because of their excellent reviews (now we know why the reviews are great). We booked the Daytime Experience. Everything was beautifully planned, from the pick-up/drop-off in our hotel, comfortable transportation, safety measures and the FOOD. The company automatically upgraded us to a private tour that allowed us to have a one on one interaction with Silvia (our tour guide) and Juan (our driver). We want to thank them for making our first day in Lima a memorable and delicious one. Juan took great care of us by implementing all the safety measures like providing hand sanitizer before getting into the car (Thank you Juan!). Silvia took us into a journey that incorporated Lima’s food, history, culture and art. Silvia thank you for sharing with us anecdotes and giving us insight into Lima’s daily live and culinary scene. For me the highlights of the tour (aside from the excellent service) was visiting a restaurant magically located amidst ancient ruins, tasting the ceviche (yummy!!) and visiting the Mercado were we tried a sampler of local fresh fruits. If you are planning to visit Lima, I highly recommend booking a tour with the Lima Gourmet Company because the experience exceeded our expectations. I cannot think of a better way to get to know Lima than through its delicious food. Un abrazo, Cristina

First of all, Sylvia was such a knowledgeable guide and represented her country so well! She made this tour one of our favorite parts of the entire trip. As far as our favorite parts of the tour, mine was making our own ceviche and Tina's was seeing all the fresh food at the local market we went to. Hands down it was one of our highlights when visiting Peru! I'd definitely recommend making it part of yours!
