We loved this evening food tour! The entire night was so well planed and so much fun.
First, we got picked up at our hotel and we discovered it was only the two of us on the tour, which made it even better. We loved learning about (and drinking) Pisco Sours, making ceviche, dining in front of pre-Incan ruins, and enjoying ice cream in the Barranco district.

Our tour guide, Arturo, was the best! He was so friendly and knowledgeable, you could tell that he has a real passion for food and drink. We all became fast friends and spending the evening with him was great.

Would highly recommend this tour if you are looking to see some amazing spots, eat A LOT of delicious food and have an amazing night!

Patricia (our guide) and Juan (our driver) took such amazing care of us! We started our tour with coffee and sandwiches at a historic colonial house (Singular & co) then ventured to La bodega verde to try a lucuma milkshake!! Patricia was extremely knowledgeable about Peruvian culinary history, and had so many interesting stories to share. Afterwards, we ventured to the food market where we learned about all of the different types of fruit and vegetables in different regions of Peru - which Patricia could tell you everything about each one and we got a sample box to try each one (Chirimoya was excellent). We stopped at Limanábar to learn how to make a pisco sour and try coconut seviche. Last stop was Huaca Pucllana overlooking the temple ruins which Patricia told us about the history and recent excavation work as we tried cow heart for the first time. This was such a great way to tour the city, try new food, learn Peruvian culinary history, and Patricia gave us recommendations on where to go on the other days we were in Lima as well. Would definitely recommend this tour to anyone! (They also wonderfully accommodated dietary restrictions and preferences).

My husband, my son and I thoroughly enjoyed our tour with Kimberly. She is so knowledgeable about her city and knows how to immediately put her guests at ease. We shuttled into Lima from the Callao port and the LGC van was waiting for us as scheduled. We made five wonderful stops with some walks around the historical areas. The highlight was making Pisco sours at a great ocean-side restaurant. Book this as soon as you know you will be in Lima, even if it is just for a day.

Two couples took the evening food tour—-four restaurants and a walk around the Barranco neighborhood over five hours. All the restaurants and their food and beverages were excellent. Two of them, Calle and Huaca Pullana, also offered incredible vistas, while a third, Xoma, specializes in creative cuisine and provide a hands on cooking experience. The highlight of the tour was our guide, Patricia, who not only provided excellent commentary on our foods and drinks and skillfully obtained menu accommodations for two vegetarians, but, most importantly, engaged with us, four older adults, on a real human level. We loved her.

Done miss this trou if you love food. It is the perfect combination of tasting, information, and beauty. Carlos was our guide and he did a fine job of introducing is to Peruvian coffee, fruit, ceviches, and too many amazing dishes to name. Very good value. Easy schedule.

Upon a recommendation from a colleague, I booked The Lima Gourmet Company as host for our culinary encounter in Lima. The evening we spent with Lima Gourmet capped off our 10 day Peru experience. To say we were sad to leave our experience in Peru is an understatement. We had such an adventure! So, to cap the experience off with a culinary tour in Lima was a great way to bid farewell. We were picked up by the small van from our hotel and whisked away with three other couples to our first restaurant. There, we received a lesson on Peruvian drinks and pre-dinner specialty items. All this while enjoying the Peruvian sunset on the beach. From there we visited three more locations and filled our bellies contently. I had no idea just how amazing the food in Peru was and this was a great way to experience such a delicious delight! Highly recommend you include this experience while in Lima!

Penguins. Sea lions. Sand-surfing. Wine. Our (long) day trip from Lima had pretty much everything we imagined. Lilly, our guide, was outstanding. Knowledgeable (and passionate) about her country and the sites, focussed on every important logistical detail, and a genuine delight to spend a day with. The Ballestas Islands alone were worth the long drive from Lima, as we saw thousands of birds, including penguins, and witnessed an awesome sea lion hunting birds near our boat. We then went to the historic Tacoma winery (Peru’s oldest) for lunch and a wine tasting tour, which provided a welcome break from the road. The wine is just okay but the setting is beautiful. And then we capped the day with a crazy hour of dune buggy riding and sand surfing at Huacachina. We haven’t laughed and screamed so much in ages! And stunning to see the dunes at sunset. A great and diverse welcome to Peru.

What a great way to see Lima. Our guide Amy was bright, bubbly and extremely knowledgeable. We asked everything from pre-Incan history, modern day politics to foodie hotspots.
We made ceviche, learnt the history of Pisco and Edu gave a great lesson in how to make pisco sours. The food at every stop was delicious from the morning coffee to the final lunch stop. The minivan was clean and a driver picked and dropped us at every stopping point.
We also got to visit a market and try some of the unknown fruits. A really enjoyable day.
Thanks Amy and Lima Gourmet Company.
Highly recommended.
