We loved the slow pace of that tour and all the information we gathered. A visit to Lima is incomplete without this tour. Our guides and driver were very courteous and had answers to all of our questions. Thank you, we loved it!

As a first-time visitor to Lima, I was looking for an excursion that was not crowded with tourists and showed me a "real" part of the city. This tour was it!! From the moment I was picked up on time at my Miraflores hotel, our...More

This tour/class was so enjoyable, in large part due to the knowledgeable and friendly staff, but the food options offered were also responsible for its success. Only the best quality meats and seafood, organic and local fruits and vegetables! I particularly appreciated the opportunity to...More

You have the option as a group to pick from 3 starters and 3 mains. Yes, you do go to the market and cook the meals but my highlight of this class was the tidbits of history and local knowledge from our guide Jonathan, guide...More

This is a fantastic tour- a must do when in Lima. We thoroughly enjoyed seeing the markets and getting to sample the fruits, orange juice and ceviche was wonderful. The graffiti and views near the Bridge of Sighs were beautiful.

Dear client: Absolutely yes! Going inside the port itΒ΄s not allowed because of past problems, so there are shuttles from the ship dock to the gates of the port where we can pick you up and start our tours! :D

Haku Tours - Ballestas Islands + Huacachina (6 Replies)
Hi all - I am considering the "Ballestas Islands + Dune buggy & Sandboarding around "Huacachina" Oasis" 1 full day tour organized by Haku tours. Has anyone done a tour with Haku tours before? Any good? Has anyone done the "Ballestas Islands + Dune buggy & Sandboarding around "Huacachina" Oasis" tour with them? Any good? I am trying to do Huacachina in a day trip, so am open to suggestions for other tour operators too. Thanks!

Dear everyone, I finally got lucky and booked the air tickets. Its a "done " deal re. going to Peru. Only regret is that the censor saw the itinerary and took a sharp scissor and cut off 2 1/2 days off. Then asked that we rest before going to MP. Comments, suggestions please. Day 1 May 13 Saturday Depart NYC 2320 arrive in lima. 0600- Depart Lima 0810 Question. enough time for connection? Also enough time to get cash from ATM and get a sim card? Arrive Cusco -0945 Question- ok...More

Hi bigwawao, I think your 2 hr connection time is very tight. Even if your NYC flight arrives on time, you need to go through Immigration, pick up luggage, scan luggage at Customs, exit Arrivals area, take luggage to check-in counter in main lobby (there is always a long line) and go upstairs to the Departures area. I don't mean to scare you unnecessarily but the last time we flew in, our luggage didn't make the flight but no one told us. We waited for almost 1 hr and finally submitted a...More

Haku Tours bike tour vs. Bike Tours of Lima (7 Replies)
On our travels back from Cuzco, we have a layover in Lima from 1pm until 10:45pm. My husband and I have done bike tours in other countries and have loved them. My question is which one of these tour companies to go with. There isn't one review of Haku Tours BIKE tours that I can find on the internet. Most reviews are of their "Shanty tour" which I am not interested in. The upside to this company is that they provide a guaranteed pick up taxi from their company at airport at 1pm and their...More

We did a Bay Tour with Bike Tours of Lima last month and had a great experience. As you noted, this is what they do, and it was definitely rock solid and a lot of fun. I'm not sure which tour you are considering, but we enjoyed seeing various sights around the bay, including a couple overlooks and the Bridge of Sighs in Barranco. No real help on transportation, but I would think a taxi to Miraflores would be easy enough to do in the 2 hours you have before the tour starts. On the way back,...More
