Definitely a GOOD circus school.
Feb 2019
So as the title says it's a circus school and a Circus Company based in Lima, the have classes for "amateurs", the professional formation and the crew which can contain students from the professional formation. Their presentations are beyond good, it is in general a very nice project.

Best peruvian circus and show ever!
Aug 2017 • Friends
This show should be visited by peruvians and foreigners. It's beautifully ensambled. It has peruvian dances mixed with circus acts and live music.

Not be missed by anyone who is in Lima. I just loved it!

A great experience
Aug 2015
I wasn't very exited about the opportunity to go to La Tarumba when it was suggested but I'm so glad I went. It was such and interesting and great show. Just watching the band leader was worth the price of admission. He's so energetic and entertaining. The music and band are top notch. Beautiful horses and talented circus performers. If you are in Lima when they are performing I suggest you go.

We had the pleasure to enjoy La Tarumba latest show "Zanni"and it was simply incredible. The whole environment, the live music, and the artists were absolutely fantastic. Totally recommendable, just can't wait for next year's show!

Great experience
Sep 2013 • Couples
My husband and I went to the La Tarumba circus in 2012 and 2013 and were very impressed with each year. The acrobatics and level of showmanship is amazing. We definitely would recommend this experience, especially if you have small children. Shows are usually during August/September and tickets are sold at Teleticket stands around Lima (in most Metro and Wong supermarkets). The circus is set up in Chorrillos in the parking lot behind Lima Plaza Sur -- best to take the Metropolitano and get off at the Rosario de Villa stop which is directly in front of the mall.

Wonderful Local Entertainment
Sep 2011
First up, take a taxi there - the streets around Barranco and Chorrillos are a nightmare of one-ways.

We arrived to view 'Don Quijote' just as the house lights were going down in the big top. Live criollo music formed a great backdrop throughout the show, providing atmosphere for the performers and interludes while the staging was changed. The individual acts were connected by the clowns representing Don Quijote and Sancho Panza and the standard acrobatic, horse, juggling, etc. acts were all themed to be part of the story.

Essentially, the whole performance boils down to some very good circus performances neatly linked via the Quijote story, and with a wonderful musical background. It''s not Cirque du Soleil but it's a fine story well delivered. We're already looking forward to next year's season!
