My husband and I used this agency 4 1/2 years ago for a two week trip to Peru. We are returning in April 2016. Since their service was so amazing, we decided to use their service again. However, their web site has disappeared, and the email I had no longer worked! So, I had to go digging. The name has changed to PERU RUNA TRAVEL. We have already been in contact with Geraldine, and she is doing a wonderful job of putting together a customized itinerary for us. Just one word to those who have never visited Peru before. There is just SO MUCH to do beyond Machu Picchu. Having said that, also be advised that when you use a travel agency you must pay in advance, and fax copies of your passport. This is "standard" procedure unless you book through a stateside agency, and you will pay a lot more. ENJOY PERU! It is simply wonderful. Don't drink the water -- ever! LOL!!!

I had looked at several different tour companies and this one was the most appealing to me. I am very glad I chose this company. They were very professional and helpful. I was picked up at the airport and greeted by my tour guide. He was very nice. On the way to the hotel he asked me if i had any questions, and gave me a little historic information. He gave me his number in case I needed anything. After I got settled in, I was taken to my first tour. Once again my guide was very attentive. I asked my guide where I could have a nice dinner. he right away made some phone calls and I was set up at a nice restaurant. The day I left my guide was on time and made sure everything was okay. I love how i only dealt with my guide the whole time. it made my experience a lot more personal. I would definitely recommend this company.

Before we left, I pestered Geraldine with numerous emails and itinerary changes. She was gracious and accommodating, customizing our trip to my specifications - even after I removed some items. Geraldine provided a detailed itinerary, with all of the information we needed to have a marvelous trip. We had such a good experience up front, that my expectations were raised in anticipation of the actual tour. We were not to be disappointed. Peru Chasquitur handled our excursion to Machu Picchu, including a private guide for the site, all of the transportation from Ollantaytambo to get there, and a hotel. I had booked a hotel in Lima on my own, but they did not have my reservation (Ramada Inn at the airport). This marvelous agency did their part and delivered our travel documents to the hotel, but we never received them. Alicia and Carlos went to a great deal of trouble to track us down and get our travel documents to us in Ollantaytambo. If they had not done so, we would not have had our train tickets, bus tickets, Machu Picchu tickets - everything we needed to visit the ruins. Basically, they came through in a pinch and saved our vacation! Thank you so much to Geraldine, Alicia, and Carlos!! After saving us, the agency provided a very good guide for Machu Picchu - Mariela - who let us tour the site at our own pace while providing a great overview. She even got us into a portion of the sanctuary lodge. We thought she was delightful. Back in Cusco, Carlos was attentive to our needs and checked on us in our hotel to make sure we knew about the flight to Lima. Unfortunately, our flight on LAN Airlines was over 2 hours late departing and consequently arriving in Lima. Alicia waited patiently for us at the Lima airport and rearranged our schedule at the last minute to accommodate our late arrival. We had a lovely guide in Lima for a city tour, Desiree. She was very professional, very knowledgeable, and very charming. She showed compassion when we expressed our dismay at missing our restaurant reservation and arranged for us to have dinner at another restaurant. Thank you Peru Chasquitur for saving our vacation and providing outstanding service!! Next time, I will just let you handle everything since you do it so professionally.

Our family spent 10 days in Peru on a tour organized by Peru Chasquitur. Everything was organized over email & we had a wonderful trip, for the most part. We had a choice of group size & excepting for the trip around Cusco which was A TOUR BUS(!), the others were all small groups, intimate & beautifully managed. We traveled around Lima, Arequipa, Cusco & of course Macchu Picchu. This is not a review about Peru, - no words to describe the beauty of the place & the beauty of the people. This is a review of the tour company & it was very smoothly organized. All the transport arranged, to & from the airports, the tours in & around Arequipa, Lima & Macchu Picchu were excellent (less so the bus trip in Cusco); all the hotels were excellent (again, except for the little one in Aquaciente)...& we had wonderful tour guides (again, except for the large bus tour in Cusco). Highly recommend the service.
