A must if interested in Archaeology

The site has been uncovered and the guide takes you through the ruins. It is currently being excavated as well. So you might even see an actual dig taking place. Tip the guide well. They are all vounteers and they all do a fantastic job and really study up on making sure they know all there is to know.

Off the beaten track

In the resort area of Cieneguilla, Lima, Peru is the pre-Colombian town of Huaycan de Cieneguilla - I was the only person there but well worth the visit. It is still under excavation and has a tiny museum. Cieneguilla itself is full of guesthouses and restaurants - an oasis in the desert south of Lima on the banks of the River Lurin and is a rest-place from the polluted centre of Lima.

Interesting site. Difficult for non-Peruvian/non-Spanish speakers as all information and tours are in Spanish and some Quechuan. Worth visiting if traveling to Cieneguilla.
