This place wants to pretend it's a fine dining restaurant but neither the food nor the service is anywhere near decent. People always want to visit this place because the building is cool but every single time I've been taken here I am disappointed. I've been more than ten times and I've never had a good meal. They rely too much on frozen ingredients and you can tell when they're defrosted and cooked too rapidly, food comes out dry and tough and lacking in flavour. On top of this it's the only restaurant that puts a surcharge on the bill so do be sure you know what you'll be paying before you order as the meals themselves are way overpriced for the lack of quality.

The Iron House in Iquitos was one of the highlights of my Amazon trip. The unique architecture and the history behind this metal structure are truly fascinating. I was especially impressed by the architects' ability to design such a beautiful and functional house in the middle of the Amazon rainforest.

Our tour guide from Yakumama was extremely informative and provided us with a wealth of information about the construction and history of the Iron House. I also loved how the place has been carefully restored to maintain its authenticity and original charm.

I highly recommend visiting the Iron House to anyone interested in the architecture and history of the region. It's a unique and memorable experience that you won't want to miss. Thank you for an incredible experience

What a pleasure to be back on the balcony of La Casa de Fiero for dinner after an interval of 20 years, all thanks to the new owners of the restaurant here. Everything was tiptop and precisely as we might have hoped. Thank you to Rolly our waiter. Great presentation, and the postre was to die for. With patience the customers will surely return as the good news spreads, of that I am sure. As for myself, can’t wait for the opportunity to dine here again, overlooking the vibrant Plaza de Armas imbibing a slice of history from the era of the caucheros. Thank you Iriana for your vision.

The restaurant itself is very nice and staff are nice, most anyway. The food is ok but the issue is the kitchen! The service is shocking, two nights in a row out of three ordered meals one would arrive when other two people where finishing theirs. On second night we refused the meal the late third dish. Waitress apologies for the delay but manager would not come and talk to us. Instead when she saw us leaving she quickly disappeared. Summarising, nice place but don’t all expect to eat at the same time.

It’s special to see this building which has been importet by a rubber baron because it doesn’t fit perfectly into it’s surroundings from a size perspective. Interesting contrast to the houses next to it. Luckily it’s not necessary to go somewhere to see it, most of the visitors will see it anyway when passing Plaza de Armas.

There is nothing worth looking at on the inside. It's not very well maintained either. Nothing too impressive.
It may have been important or impressive before. There's nothing on its history either.

The interesting point on casa del Fierro is evidently its connection to the world fair in Paris (regardless whether it truly was designed by Eiffel or not). It is a testimony to the importance of Iquitos' past. Nowadays, between a million mototaxis and loud surroundings it is sad, that Iquitos hasn't quite developed positively to the present. There should be a more notable effort to conserve the beautiful houses (not only this one) from the central government.

Nice place, good service, it was closed on a Sunday. My only criticism is that it should offer Wifi to it's customers
