We went to Machu Picchi with Davíd from Flashpacker Connect. Davíd and the driver for Flashpacker picked us up at our hotel in Cusco. We drove through part of the Sacred Valley stopping to see a demonstration by some Quechua weavers which was really great and informative. We then drove on to the train station in Ollantaytambo and took the train to Aguas Calientes. We stayed in a really nice hotel here, which was part of the trip with Flashpacker.

We woke up early to go up to Machu Picchu, by bus, at 5:30 am. I recommend getting up early for this as it was a magical experience to see the morning clouds blow away from the sacred grounds to reveal the splendor of the ruins. Davíd was super informative and a pleasure to tour the ruins with. I would recommend this trip to anyone especially with Davíd, he was the best.

We visited in the summer (January) and it was a little cool early in the morning (maybe 45-50F) but soon warmed up after the sun came up and the clouds cleared. We brought a camera and I wore some running shoes, and Davíd recommended a liter of water each whcih was perfect. If you take the bus to the top you probably won't need hiking boots, you're just walking around not really doing any hiking, just some steps here and a little uneven terrain. We were through the ruins and back down to Aguas Calientes by 9:30am.

Flashpacker Connect built us a customized itinerary for an unforgettable two weeks in Peru.

My friend and I had been wanting to see Machu Picchu for years, and in early 2019 decided now was the time. We also wanted to see the Andes by trekking/backpacking. One thing led to another, and we decided on a Peru trip that would include not only Machu Picchu but also the Cordillera Huayhuash.
When we realized how much logistical planning was involved we began looking at tour companies and decided on Flashpacker Connect. We're glad we did. Flashpacker worked closely with us to answer our questions, give us good advice, and make all of our travel arrangements once we were in Peru. This included all the transportation and accommodations in country: Bus from Lima to Huaraz, a trip to Huascaran National Park, and a shuttle to the remote mountains for a guided trek through the Huayhuash Circuit.
After 10 days in Huayhuash, we took the bus back to Lima for a flight to Cusco, where a Flashpacker representative brought us to our hotel. Everything was so easy and laid out for us. Over the next several days we toured the Cusco area, including Rainbow Mountain, a shuttle through Sacred Valley, and of course, a train to Aguas Calientes and Machu Picchu.
The value that Flashpacker provided was on many levels:
1) Excellent staff and guides. LeAnn and Brandon did fantastic work in planning and booking our itinerary. In Huaraz, Marco, Edith, and Darwin all took great care of us in Huascaran and Huayhuash. In Cusco, David Villena was our guide for everything, and he really knew his stuff. Not just the details of the "curriculum," but also any questions we had on the fly, he knew the answer. He was a real joy to spend the trip with and a credit to the Flashpacker staff.
2) The itineraries were "dialed in." The schedules were on point, particularly with getting to all of the attractions in the Cusco area early on in the day, before they were mobbed by other tourists. The hotel accommodations were excellent, in Huaraz, Cusco, and Aguas Calientes.
3) The logistics. All the schedules, the transportation, the booking of tickets, it was so nice not to have to do all of this ourselves. Ours was a very ambitious itinerary, being on buses, cars, trains, planes, hotels. Flashpacker booked it all for us.

This review is less on the attractions, which were all amazing, than on Flashpacker's making it all happen for us. When you see your itinerary on paper it's one thing, but when you're actually there you really see how important it is to have everything scheduled ahead of time. I look forward to working with Flashpacker again on future trips.

Thanks, Flashpacker!

We did the 7 day Cusco to Amazon tour and thoroughly enjoyed the action packed itinerary and unique mix of activities! Flashpacker coordinates everything from transportation to accommodation to activities and permits. The tour has a good mix of quintessential Peru activities (Machu Picchu, rainbow mountain) and unique experiences (treehouse lodge in the jungle, sky lodge overnight stay and via ferrata/zip line) and also provides some flexibility/down time. They also include some meals. The food at the treehouse lodge was all amazing and fresh and we enjoyed a home cooked meal at a local house after the rainbow mountain hike which was a very nice touch. Note this itinerary is very action packed with a lot of very early morning wake up calls, so we were exhausted by the end of the trip. The treehouse lodge and sky lodge both don’t have WiFi and we weren’t always able to get hot showers. It was a great experience for us, but be prepared to sometimes be uncomfortable. The early morning wake up calls were worth it in order to avoid the crowds at Machu Picchu and rainbow mountain. Door to door private transportation is a huge benefit not to be taken for granted!
Yeicob was our guide for Machu Picchu (plus we added the Waynapicchu hike) and he was a blast; chatting with us, giving us the history of the ruins, motivating us to keep going when the altitude was getting to us, and acting as our professional photographer, knowing the best spots and getting good angles to avoid people in the background. Roswell was our guide for rainbow mountain and was also a great time; very friendly, knowledgeable, encouraging us in the cold weather and high altitude, and a great stand-in photographer! I would highly recommend this tour to anyone looking for an action packed trip to Peru.

Me and a few of my friends decided to hike the 4 day Inca Trail to Machu Picchu and decided on Flashpacker Connect to provide the service. We booked our trip in late 2019, but due to the pandemic, we could not actually take the trek until 2022.

Flashpacker Connect honored the money that was initially spent and provided us with an incredible experience. Our tour guide Gio was phenomenal -- extremely knowledgeable and passionate about his country and the history of the trail. Our porters (these are the folks that carry a lot of your equipment) were top notch and so meticulous. Even the chef, Charlie, was incredibly creative and made delicious meals while we camped on the trail for 4 days.

It was a euphoric experience and I'd highly recommend seeing these wonders of the world with Flashpacker Connect.

Overall, we really enjoyed our tours with Flash Packer. We did three days, Sacred Valley, Machu Picchu, and Rainbow Mountain. You pay for a small group, and there was only 4 of us total so we had flexibility, and lots of time to ask questions. The negative, when we booked we were told there were some problems with the locals and access to Rainbow Mountain, they said they would either offer us another tour or refund out money. That is not the whole story, the access to the "famous" Rainbow Mountain has been blocked since March. There shouldn't be pictures on the website if they know you cannot go. The night we came back from Machu Picchu we were told they could take us to an alternative rainbow site. We did not want that and chose the Cusco city tour which is $50 cheaper and we were not offered a refund of the difference. I would not have booked Rainbow Mountain if I knew we would not be able to go. Also, I had WhatsApp so they could contact me, but I had to email to ask when we would be picked up the first day. After that, the communication was directly through our guide. Now the positive, out guide Roosevelt was amazing. He was so patient, kind and knowledgeable. He provided excellent insight in the sites with insightful details of locations and culture. He went above and beyond to make sure we had access to all the sites we wanted to see and answered all of our questions. The transportation was clean and comfortable. I feel that Flash Packer has great guides and for that I would use them again, but next time I would probably ask more questions to understand exactly what I am paying for before I book it.

Our group of 3 did a custom 2 day tour to Sacred Valley and Macchu Pichu. Then a one day Rainbow Mountain hike. Our guide to Sacred Valley and Macchu Pichu was Giovanny and he was absolutely amazing! We couldn’t of asked for anyone better. He went above and beyond to take photos of us, explain history, check us in and out of places, make sure we were comfortable, he would even hold our bags. By the end of the trip he was more like family and it had only been 2 days! We made the right decision booking with Flashpacker and if you do I recommend you request Giovanny as your guide, you won’t regret it I promise! He was always early or on time and kept a great attitude even when we were all making Father’s Day calls during his explanations of the Incan ruins. The bus we drove in was very comfortable and the driver Mario was safe and courteous. The entire itinerary was perfection including the one night stay at Jaya Hotel in Aguas Calientes. The train ride to Macchu Pichu was comfortable and quick as well. Overall the experience was amazing and truly worth it.

My friend and I booked a 1 day Tour from Cusco to Machu Picchu via Flashpacker Connect. We were picked up at our hotel at 3AM in the morning by our fantastic guide Alberto and our driver David. We had cozy blankets and pillows, as well as drinks, fruit and snacks available in the bus for the 1:30h drive to the train station. All costs (train ticket, bus ticket at Agua Calientes, entry fee for Machu Picchu and return fares) were included in our tour cost. There were no other people with us, so we basically had a private tour with Alberto all through Machu Picchu. He took his time with us, explained a lot of the history and fascinating facts about land and culture of Peru and the Incas. He never pressured us to hurry up and more than once volunteered to take photos of us at the best spots at Machu Picchu. He and his knowledge of the weather and when to wait for the clouds to part played a big part in making this day unforgettable for us. We were a little worried about the high price point in the beginning but after experiencing this tour I have to say it was worth every single cent. Huge thank you to Alberto, David and Flashpacker Connect!

Our 2 days Ausangate trek with Rainbow Mountain included was wonderfull. It was the best time of our life. Especially that our guide Mijail was wonderfull!!! He asked us all the time if we are feeling good, he was very patient and we had as much time as we needed to hike over 5 thousand meters. He made the decision with us, concerning also the weather. Also very good and experienced driver Mario made for us comfort of our trip. Meals which were prepared by Jose were really tasty and we wonder to have a bigger stomage to eat more.
Flashpackerconnect has great equipment which is also very good for winter escapade. Thank you all for such great adventure. For sure we will chose you again if we will have opportunity.
They are more expensive than the others companies, but you have everything included what is very helpfull. It is worth to pay their price and be fully satisfied.

We did the sacred valley tour with wil the day before and then took a vista dome train (highly recommended) to Aguas calientes. The next day caught the bus at 5:30 AM because our awesome tour guild Wil told us we would want to go up to Machu Picchu early. The trip to Machu Picchu from Aguas calientes was so worth it! By the time we started the hike inside the citadel, there was barely anyone behind us, we had read on past tourist reviews that they were rushed visiting Machupicchu but we had ample amounts of time to time for pictures, to catch our breaths and even hangout in the shade so we can take In the beautiful view of this historic site. Flash packer connect is a great company who set up this awesome tour which took a total of 4 hours to complete. We stayed the night before in Aguas calientes a beautiful little city so we didn’t have to rush. Once the tour was over we had a great lunch at a local place and tried some ceviche which was to die for! Then we went to the train station and headed back to Ollantaytambo where our driver Mario was waiting for us to take us back to Cusco. Overall I would recommended this company and their guided for this beautiful historical cite. They gave us great food and drink recommendations as well as lodging close to the bus and train stations. The weather was beautiful when we went and above all because of their planning we were able to avoid all the crowds!

Booked Humantay Lake 1-Day Trek with Flashpacker (see review). FP Team, lead by our guide, David, was extremely professional, passionate about their trip with us (even though this ended up being a private tour), and very personable. Every person (chef Charlie, driver Mario and guide David) made my son and I feel special. I'm a harsh critic, but they far exceeded my expectations. Can't say more than noting that I will, without question, book with them again on my next visit where I plan to bring my wife to Peru. Easy to understand why they have consistent 5-star ratings.
