The Piuray Outdoor Center offers a wonderful back to nature experience in a tranquil setting. There are many different activities on offer to suit different interests, all of which bring you closer to nature and have a focus on mindfulness and connecting with the energies of the sacred land. Our guide Gonzalo was very knowledgeable, warm and friendly, we enjoyed our soft hike with him. Highly recommended for a nourishing day in the Peruvian countryside!…

We had great time with Alvaro. The paddle boarding was a lot of fun, the location was beautiful and the cooking lessons were delicious. Fun for us as a couple and made us want to come back with a group of friends.

We arrived to this place as part of a personalized tour (We were in Peru for 3 weeks, from Atlanta GA) back in August 2018. The outfitter's owner, Alvaro, was incredibly attentive. He had wetsuits ever for our 3 year-old , 5 year-old and 7 year-old daughters. The kids had the time of their lives, the story of paddleboarding at over 12,000 feet elevation will last them a lifetime. They even ventured to swim in the lake after the paddle. The staff prepared an amazing meal for us after the paddle, Alvaro and his partner joined us at the table and treated us like family. We also went here with grandparents, and even though they couldn't be persuaded to paddle, they had a super relaxing time, hanging out in the hammocks and taking in the breathtaking views. We stayed for a while after the meal too and the kids rode bikes and enjoyed petting and watching the guinea pigs, alpacas and other farm animals. I could not recommend this place enough. I feel bad it took me this long to write this review, however a close friend of mine went to this place a few days ago, posted pictures on Facebook, and raved about her experience her as well, which reminded me to write this. Thank you Alvaro for an unbelievable experience!…

We booked a private stand-up paddle surf tour. It was our first time doing it, and Michel our instructor was very patient and kind. We had a great time! The boards were really big, so we didn’t fall down on the lake! The views are amazing. We got wetsuits and appropriate shoes for the activity, so we weren’t cold at all! When you arrive there’s a nice station set up with tea and chips for you to relax and enjoy the view. The bathrooms are very clean and there’s a changing room. Tip: bring a towel.…

This gem was such a terrific find. Everything was perfect, and we could not have enjoyed ourselves more. We were picked up right on time by a driver and our guide Barac. We were driven to the center in the beautiful area outside of Chincero. It was idyllic - a beautiful location on the lake, with the snow capped mountains in the distance. We were greeted with snacks and coffee, hammocks and mats for relaxing. We chose to kayak for the day and Barac was great as our family of four kayaked and enjoyed the beautiful scenery. Two of us then opted to do Stand Up Paddleboarding which was really fun. the lake was calm and without current so we were able to really enjoy. The rest of the family continued to kayak while we SUPd. After this, we relaxed while final preparations were made by a local family for our delicious lunch. We enjoyed wine with our amazing Peruvian fare. After a post-lunch rest, we embarked on some biking around the lake to the nearby 'town'. The biking was on a dirt road, with some hills. It was not mountain biking but it was not a stroll on a flat road either. We loved seeing all the locals working on their farms, passing by the goats, cows, pigs and alpacas wandering around. It was really a good opportunity to see how people live first hand. After our bike ride we relaxed and enjoyed the view before we were returned to our hotel in Cusco. It was such a delightful and enjoyable day and we couldn't have asked for anything better. It was such a great relaxing experience after hiking the Inca Trail.…
