Cooking class in Cusco
May 2021 • Friends
What an amazing experience! Our chef Xavier picked us up at our hotel and we walked to the local market to learn more about local foods and Peruvian customs. Next we went to the restaurant that had the most amazing view in the city. We learned how to prepare a three course meal that tasted insane! Highly recommend as part of your Cusco experience.

3hour market and cooking local dishes experience
Feb 2020 • Family
A highlight of Cuzco! Our chef, xXavier picked us up at our hotel and took us to the market where we saw and bought local fruit for dessert as he had prepped the meal already. What a treat seeing the market where local bread, smoothies and chicken soup were top items. We got coffee, chocolate and Pisco at prices much better than duty free!
The rooftop kitchen is impeccably clean with great views of the city. We loved making Pisco sours, trout cerviche and quinoa risotto, all of which I hope to make at home. Delicious and fun experience!

A Highlight of our time in Cusco
Feb 2020
We loved our time with Xavier visiting the wonderful market first to see the gorgeous and unusual produce and to hear about the fruits, nuts, and chocolate that we are not accustomed to seeing at our local markets.

And then we went to the roof top kitchen with it's beautiful views of Cusco. We made three simple and very delicious dishes that I will definitely make when we get home.

Bravo Xavier, our culinary guide!

Immerse yourself in the cuisine of Peru with a fantastic cooking and dining experience.
Jan 2020
This was one of the best parts of our trip to Peru. As a family, we learned a ton about how people buy, prepare and enjoy their meals. The adventure started with a trip to the market to see the huge variety of produce available at the Eiffel designed by Gustave Eiffel... yes, that Eiffel... and to buy produce. Next we went to the facility - really professional and able to host groups from 2 - 50. With thier own herb garden and fantastic rooftop views... we knew it was going to be great. We made perfect Pisco Sours, Ceviche with line caught trout and a few other amazing dishes. We learned a ton.. .and the professional staff was patient with our young son. An amazing experience.

Peruvian Cooking Class
Jan 2020 • Couples
Excellent!

I have take multiple cooking lessons for the last 40 years. This hands-on cooking lesson was outstanding. The venue and all the cooking tools were the best quality and professional grade. I was especially impressed with the ambiance and the 360 degree views of Cusco’s mountains.

Also, our bilingual teacher - Xavier Vargas - followed up - promised - with an email copy of the recipes used in our lesson.

We enjoyed eating each course that we prepared. Even my husband - who never eats ceviche or sushi - enjoyed our Peruvian ceviche style trout dish. I think that we have converted my husband! Also, Xavier introduced me to “red quinoa.” Even my Peruvian son-in-law - who grew up in Lima - had never heard of or had “red quinoa.”

So, now I will be using these recipes to cook for my family back home in the USA, including my Peruvian son-in-law.

Thank you Xavier!!

Rooftop Cooking Class with Xavier
Dec 2019
This was one of our favorite experiences during our weeklong trip in Peru. Xavier met us at our hotel and then took us to the local market. That in itself was a great experience, as he had so much local knowledge about all of the unique vendors/products.

Our family of four (including two teenagers) went to the rooftop Kitchen. We prepare an amazing appetizer, entree and dessert and even learned how to make pisco sours. It was an amazing experience and the view was incredible. We highly recommend it.

Excellent Cooking Class and Location
Dec 2019 • Family
We were fortunate enough to experience the Rooftop Cooking Class in late December with our 4 children ages 18-24. The space is unbelievable with amazing views of the city and the kitchens were absolutely spotless! Xavier was amazing - he first took on a walk through the markets and then back to the Rooftop Kitchen where we prepared Pisco Sours, ceviche and red quinoa risotto with mushrooms and blue cheese. The recipes were fun and delicious. I highly recommend this experience - it was a highlight of our visit to Cusco!

Rooftop Cooking a Class with Javier Vargas
Jan 2020
It was the very last day of our 12 day Quito, Galapagos, Lima, Machu Picchu, and Cuzco holiday trip with our 2 children and their spouses. We were tired to say the least and the tour’s itinerary for a cooking class before we left for the Lima airport didn’t sound too enticing to anyone. HOWEVER, when the excursion with Javier was done we all said, “What a PERFECT way to end an amazing trip!” The day was a delight as was Javier. The market experience was awesome—organized, to the point, unique and fun. The cooking class location on the rooftop was a surprise and beautiful. The actual cooking was well organized for our group, efficient, easy to do and fun at the same time. AND it was all delicious to enjoy for our lunch—particularly the Pisco Sours! Highly recommended part of any trip to Cuzco!
