A friend recommend this agency. Coca tours and their staff responded to all questions via mail, not always fast. But they are only an agency that works with different tour companies. So for example I paid for the Inca Jungle Trail by far the most of my group consisting of people booking with different agencies because I reserved in advance. The tour was ok but not outstanding, because the guide wasn't telling a lot. I enjoyed a lot the biking, rafting and zip lining.
The company is reliable but I think there are definitely better or cheaper companies in Cusco if you search around a bit.

Dear Travelero22,
Thank you very much for your feedback, we appreciate it. In the low season Coca Tours is working together with other tour operators to provide a daily departure of the tours.
We offer good valued tours and services for a reasonable price and ensure and guarantee all departures.
We apologise for every inconvenience there may be, and hope that you still have had a pleasend stay in Peru and great Inka Jungle Trail to Machupicchu!
Greetings from Cusco,

We booked two trips with coca tours: 3 day trip to Manu and a 2 day trip to the sacred valley and machu picchu. We booked them both in advance. Contact by email was easy and they answered quickly.
There was some misunderstanding about the pick up time for the second tour, we were given the wrong time and so, had to wait nearly two hours. I would advise you to confirm the time a day in advance. But the company that picked us up was punctual and well organized.
The hotels during the trips had private bathrooms and were clean. The guides spoke good English and had a lot of knowledge.
In conclusion: cocatours is a reliable company and trips are well orginized.

I was in contact with Claudia and she gave us all the necessary information and also recommended accommodation in Cusco.
The day before our tour a colleague of Claudia came to our hotel and gave us all the tickets and info we needed for the tour. Highly appreciated the service.
We had two guide in this two days tour and we were very much satisfied with Adriel. He gave us plenty of interesting information in the Sacred Valley with lot of passion for places, people.
On the second day we had a new guide who brought us into Machu Picchu. After the day spent with Adriel was difficult for him. Our expectation were very high...
Overall we had fantastic time and enjoyed the tour.
Thank you for the entire team to make this happen.
With kind regards, Susanna and Friends

Dec 2015 • Friends
Hello All,
I am here to write a review for Coca Tours, which i booked for my trip to Cusco-Machu Picchu for December 2015.
While some people had positive and negative experiences in the past, I am here to presently tell you this tour agency is terrible. They are not geared to customer service. We had issues from DAY 1 and honestly the only reason why I even booked a tour with this agency was because a friend recommended them, she booked her tour locally while in Peru, I booked mine in advance and got even worse service. I will also address my concern on their own link because I feel that everyone should not be bamboozled into booking any tour with them.
First even before arriving in Peru, the tour operator Enrique is very slow to return your emails when you have any questions and there was so much back and forth just to book and arrange everything, it already started to worry me how this tour would go.
First day, I arrived in Cusco, Coca tours was to pick us up and transfer to our hotel in Cusco. Again, I emailed the night before confirming flight details, asking if someone would be picking us up and got NO response. Upon arrival we found someone with our names, not even sure he works with the tour company, was our transfer. He took us to the wrong hotel, the hotel is 10minutes from the airport and then it took about an hour just to get us to the correct hotel. My flight landed at 9am, i did not get to my hotel until 11am, starving , famished and SICk from the altitude.
Someone from Coca Tour met us at the hotel couldn't even check in, had to sit there while he dropped off train tickets/MP tickets/ any other important info. He said that our guide would pick us up at 1:10 to leave by 1:30 to begin our Cusco city tour which we had already paid for.
As i mentioned before we were famished, I was even SICK from the altitude and I went out to eat some food. I rushed my lunch and ran back to the hotel, only to find out , the tour guide showed up and left us, changed the meeting time for 1:40pm (i arrived at 1:15 at the hotel)
Not only that, but I was suppose to go back to the plaza (main square) wait around for someone to call out my name. Someone who has no idea what i look like nor who i am. They gave me NO name no # nothing.
Frustrated I went back to where I had just ran from to meet "tour guide" who left us. After about 20/30mins of standing there like an idiot, ready to walk back to the hotel, I kept asking other people who were shouting out random peoples names if they knew coca tours? where they might be, who was the rep? As I am waiting for someone to find me here in the middle of this busy plaza this lady with a radio waiting for some other people for the tour asked if Coca Tours was waiting for someone that she was with me, eventually a guy showed up, he escorted us into the cathedral only to pass us on to ANOTHER guide.
Basically this happened for the rest of the week. Someone would meet you just to escort/ hand you off to another guide, there was nothing personable about this tour. We were group with random people basically kind of sticking us on other ongoing tours. Whenever there was a problem we did not receive any response.
The local guide in the sacred valley was very good, I doubt he worked for coca tours, he was very knowledgeable and courteous, also our guide at Machu Picchu was great but again, they don't work for coca tours so i cannot even give that agency any credit.
My worse experience with coca tours was the transfer back from Machu Picchu.
My day started at 5am to get ready to go up to MP, we had a train scheduled to leave at 4pm back to Ollantaytambo. I tried to leave earlier but given that it was xmas holiday time everything was pretty much booked, so I waited for my 4pm train, no place to shower since we checked out early that morning , we board the train and arrive on time with no problem. Approximately at 5:50PM.
The driver LIED and told us we had to wait 10 minutes for passengers who were on the next tried. He later came back about 20minutes later with 2 more people (2 people who were on my train).
Driver disappears for about another 40 minutes. He shows up at 7PM (our train arrived at 5:50PM) with no explanation. I asked him in Perfect Spanish what time will we arrive in Cusco. Driver ignored me, so I asked him in English which of course he also ignored me.
Fine so we went on this never ending journey back to Cusco. Someone was sick and he had to keep stopping because apparently the person was going on themselves.
The driver stopped to pick up his friends/family/whatever on our way to cusco, Which i am sure is NOT part of the transfer. He picks up lady & man with their baby and continues on to Cusco.
Thanks to the driver we arrived to Cusco 2 hours later than we were told on Day 1 we would arrive. With no given explanation or reason as to why we were delayed. He drops us off in some place that's not the destination drop off so i had to lug my bags to the plaza. It was so late i did not have the time to go check in Shower and go out to get dinner. With my filthy self from 5am and Trekking all day i had to go with my luggage to find anything that was open at 845/9PM on Christmas eve. We were suppose to arrive at 6pm.
Thank you Coca Tours for ruining my last night in Cusco and making the last hours of my time spent in Peru frustrating and erratic. The entire transfer was just annoying with the people getting sick to the young kids in the back playing some stupid game where they would not shut up for the 2+hours we were on the road back to Cusco.
If we had a flight going out that day we would have been SOL totally effed because the driver could care less about a schedule. Coca Tours constantly gave us WRONG information about pick up times and arrival times were rarely given to us. This agency is just SHADY!
Honestly do not waste your money with this agency if you want a PLEASANT experience. You will not regret it if you go with ANYONE else.
You might even be better off just planning your trip to Cusco and finding a local guide who will give you a private tour for the 3 days. You will be MUCH better off. Your transfers will be guaranteed and you will be at ease. The last thing you want to do is have to sit back and worry day to day what else is going to go wrong!
After having visited, its not that difficult to plan it on your own you just need to lock down your transfer from city to city. When you arrive to Cusco, you can do a day trip to the Sacred Valley or you can continue on your journey from Cusco - Sacred Valley, to Ollantaytambo.
From Ollantaytambo you need to take the train to Machu Piccu once in Machu Picchu you dont need any guides. When you go inside MP there are many guides out front willing to provide services if you need and want a guide!
Save your money, frustration and time and DO NOT BOOK WITH COCA TOURS! They are going to throw you with a random local guide anyway. If you book on your own or with a different agency you will get more personalized attention and responsiveness if anything goes wrong!
Please be WARY!

Good day to all the great travellers who loves to visit Peru and Southamerica, My name is Harly Alvarez, CEO and founder of Coca Tours. I am here to set a completetly clear opinión and answer the bad intentioned message sent before by A_Wanderluster
As you and all follewers of Coca Tours forums can read, we always had very good comments about the experiences made by our customers. This because our professional work, the good prices we have for the tours and the good services we offer in Peru and Bolivia.
Unfortunately the traveller who wrote before hat a very bad experience in our Country: Peru, but not because of Coca Tours organization, neather because of any unpersonal treatment made by our agents or any mistakes made untentionally by any of the workers of our good reputated company Coca Tours. That happened just because this traveller found everything bad since she arrives to Cusco, she was altitude sick and was desagree with the organization since she had to do some tours directly after arriving, even she was exactly informed about the itinerary of the Group Tour she booked with us, also because she did not wanted to follow the instructions made by the personal who was in charge of this Group Tour and thought she had booked a Private Tour and everybody else should wait for her because she was sick, tired and hungry and also everybody shoud be quite and still, as she said because she could not tollerate the noise of a kid, or could not take a relaxing shower before or after she hat to began a Tour, example: to Machupicchu at 6 am in the morning, this is programed so to have enought time to spend in Machupicchu. All you can read in her comments are just complainings of her bad mood…
I am surprised about this comments, because this traveller said that her friend was the one who recommended our services because that friend was completely satisfied with the tours and all services she got from the agency (that is the reason why you recommend a company or Travel Agency or not?), then she took our services because someone else close to her already took our services and was happy with, so that she made a recommendation, I don't think that a friend would recommend our company if it would be a disaster... isn't it?
We are a experienced Travel Agency and Tour Operator in Peru and Bolivia and work in this both countries many years, with lots passengers from different countries worldwide and we dont have such this kind of complains anytime. We offer original experiences closer to the people of the different places we visit. Our clients are people who understands that going in country like Peru means open their senses to a new wonderful experience and not specting having the same they have every day at home.
As I mentioned before this passenger booked a GROUPAL TOUR, SHARED with other people, other tourists who made a great experience and never complained about anything, just because they followed all the instructions and enjoyed the expierience of travelling throug a different country, and understood that they are taking part of a shared tour and could not be droped off or picked up wherever they wanted to, there are locations where you can be picked up and also locations where we can drop the passengers off, all them where good informed, before the tour we gave infos to all our passengers but sure not to the ones who did not came for the briefings because they were eating, resting or doing whatever they wanted…
In this specific case, obviously the drop off after the tour to Machupicchu at 24th December, could not be in the Plaza the Armas (Main Square of Cusco) directly, because it is forbidden, at that evening could also not be close to this Main Square because it was Christmass Eve and there was no possibility of transit there because of the SANTURANTIKUY FEST (Typical Market organized by the Mayor in Cusco, where most of the places close to the center are closed) lots of people walking the streets it is crowded and loud, that was explained in the briefing too. The traffic was really difficult and we tryed to bring the guests as close and early as it was possible. I think that everyone can understand, that such a situation ist completely understandable and scapes of our desicions and our hands. We manage this and all other passengers were very pleased with our handle.
I am very sorry that this person had a bad experience and that she just blame us and give us the responsability, but it is not our fault, as you read in her own comment she was always sick, tired, hungry, stressed and complaining about all things that when someone travels in a different country, on a groupal shared tour, and in Christmas Eve, should know that could happens, and some changes must be done in the last minute because of the circunstances and not because our will as a Travel Company.
Please be aware that when you choose to travel with Coca Tours, you will do a great adventure and maybe something you will remember for the rest of your life, in a secure way, with all the comfort you pay for and with a profesional Tour Agency assinsting you all the time, but also be open to a new culture, traditions, and customs, because that is the sense of travel to another place.
We wish you and all travellers a great journey!

Booked the 4day/3night salkantay trip and the day before the guide was printing out our tickets and my girlfriend and I booked it for 7am and mine came out for 9am and they forgot to book my girlfriends ticket. I ended up getting to bed around 2am trying to get her ticket. Apparently someone gave up their ticket luckily and one became available so we ended up getting in at 9am. There was also another person on the trip who booked with the same company and he booked his ticket for 6am and it was for 9am. They are just not an organized company and keep making the same mistakes. I talked to other people that booked with this company or with marvellous tours and they had the same problems.

We booked a 6 day tour from Cusco with Coca Tours, including all tours, accommodation and transport at a cost of $US 695 each. They were absolutely brilliant. They fetched us at the airport and every morning after that. They were on time, polite, great tours, with top quality English speaking guides, with great transportation, quality accommodation and superb destinations including Machu Picchu. We had a mobile number for Marcello from Coca Tours, in case we needed him. We never did, but it was comforting to know if we had he was close at hand. Every time we got off a train/bus there was a friendly person waiting to meet us. We chatted to many other tourists, who were amazed at what we had paid (which was a lot less than booking in UK, USA or Australia) and the quality of service we received. I cannot thank them enough and yes I have told everyone about Coca Tours. They made our great holiday even more wonderful. thank you!!!

I've booked 3 tours with Enrique, in Coca Tours. 1st day was a paragliding, 2nd day was Rainbow Mountain and the last day was Humantay Lake. Ah, and also the transfer from the hostel to the airport in my last day.
All days were incredible, Enrique have met me in the 1st day, to arrange all the schedule. The other days I just needed follow the schedule. I'm sure that this caring helped me a lot to enjoy even more my trip, I would like to say thank you and of course, if one day I come back to Peru, Coca Tours will be in my plans. 😍

We booked a Tour from home - a two day tour to Machu Picchu on the 1st of march.
Communication before going on the trip was good, our contact person, Claudia, replied quickly and detailed. They seemed flexible with payment as well.
One day before the tour Claudia arrived at our hostel to go over the Tour with us. Here we were given details about the Tour, for example that we would be given an english speaking guide called Joel, who would handle our train tickets back from Machu Picchu and that our hostel was called Inti wasi.
When we arrived to agua calientes after a 2,5 hour walk in the rain, we went to the hostel. Here we knocked on the door. However inti wasi hostel was under construction, and therefore, didn't have our reservation. Since we were both cold and wet from the long walk this was very confusing and annoying. We had to walk around the City to find the right hostel - luckily we found it, but it had a totally different name - inti House.
Claudia told us that we would be picked up at the hostel to eat with our group and get an introduction with the guide. We did not have a group and ate dinner by ourselves. There was no guide called Joel, and the one who came to us and explained about the Tour the following morning, spoke little english.
We didn't feel very safe or taken care of during the trip. For example the hostel receptionist told us that the train from Machu Picchu was leaving at 12, where Claudia told us it was leaving af 13.30.
When we arrived at Machu picchu the english speaking guide Rebekka clearly didn't know, that we were assigned to her.
All in all, it was a bit stressfull to feel like you had to double check every information that we had been given. It didn't feel like we had an operator, since we didn't feel like we were taken care of.
Afterwards we wrote Coca tours about some of the wrong information we were given and four days later they still haven't gotten back to us.
The receptionist did a great job trying to help us out, even though it wasn't his job.

I took a tour to Machu Picchu and then to Titicaca. The second part went perfect. However, regarding the Machu Picchu tour, I had one complaint. I was supposed to enter the citadel at 6 or 6:30 am. but I had to wait till 8 am. because there were no tickets available for the earlier time. My time at MP was reasonably shorter and I was denied the re-entry. I do not understand why I had sent my passport data and an ISIC scan to the company months in advance if they purchased my ticket the day before anyway. I was not provided a 2-hour guided tour which was included in the itinerary I paid for. That was clearly unfair. In that situation, Machu Picchu was just a piece of meaningless rock and stones. Of course, I tried to contact them on that matter but no one has ever replied.

We opted to use this for the rainbow mountain trip as it was cheap.
The mountain was fine, they gave us enough time to get pictures
However; they gave us a massive window to pick us up between 3-330 am, so we were up at 2:40 and at our hotel door at 2:55.... they didn’t pick us up till 4:05!!!!! We traveled and breakfast was included, was 1 small pancake and a bagels red headed step child.... after being awake for 5 hours, and then go hike for 2.5 hours, not a great breakfast.
When we got to the mountain they helped us get horses if you wanted one, however we were told when booking a horse up would be 35 and a horse down would be 35 so 70 total. As they were charging us right in front of the horse guys they charged us 90 for the round trip thus upcharging us... they also did not communicate well with the horse guides as they constantly asked us to pay them for the rides which would have double charged us, very awkward feeling.
To end the trip we did not get dropped off even close to where we were picked up, they dropped us off so far from our hotel we had to get a taxi.
