We stayed at a hotel in Plaza Rimacpampa. It is a cool, lazy place where you can spend hours. You watch the local people and tourists go by, sit near the fountain, and eat at restaurants nearby. If you have time, visit the plaza, walk down the lane and check out the Sun Temple, admire the architecture and just spend time. You will meet a lot of people if you are interested.
