Of the many travel agencies in Cuzco, maybe give this one a miss. We booked a one-day Sacred Valley tour with them. We were told to be at the office at 6:40h in the morning. "Be on time", we were told repeatedly. So we're on time. No-one there besides us, office closed. After 15 minutes, I call some of the phone numbers on the receipt. Wake the man up. He has no idea either. After another 15 minutes, when we're just ready to kiss our 100 soles good-bye, a seriously hoarse woman appears on the scene and shleps us halfway through town to a bus. They could have just told us where to go in the first place! Alright, so the tour starts. Nearly everyone on the tour is Spanish-speaking, which wouldn't be a problem, but makes it awkward that the tour guide has to translate everything to English just for us. It's a moot point, because the PA system on the bus is so ancient that no-one understands anything anyway. Tour guide talks a fair bit - perhaps it's interesting, there's no way to tell. The day passes with extremely short visits to interesting sights, interrupted by very generous stops at shops and stalls. The town of Chincero as an example - brief introduction, 5 minutes to take photos, then all are hurdled into the bus, just to be driven to a shopping place where we spend half an hour. Only later would I learn that the church of Chincero is beautifully decorated with flower patterns - there was no chance to take a look inside. More highlights: the road to Moray is so dusty that the dust goes into the bus (which is not equipped with aircon and relies on open windows) - people actually find it hard to breathe, not to mention the dust going into cloths and other belongings. Some minutes before arriving at Maras, tour guide starts to collect the entrance fee. We were told before that all entrance fees were covered by the 130 Soles "boleto" - incorrect, we have to shell out once more. Some people make a fuss, but my Spanish isn't up to the task. We don't take part in the buffet lunch, but it's apparently so bad that the tour guide and driver choose to eat at another restaurant - we see them there! At least keep up the appearance, for god's sake.. Last highlight at the fortress of Ollantaytambo, a breathtaking place that takes at least half an hour to explore. We're alotted a grand total of four minutes (!) to take in the ruins. Thankfully, we choose to leave the tour at that point and continue on our own. As we did some other tours in Peru which were well-organized and run by enthusiastic people (and were not more expensive!) we feel competent in advising you against choosing this agency. Yes, I realize that Macaw Adventure just places you in some other tour and takes the commission, but I never learned the other company's name so I feel the blame lies with Macaw Adventure. Two points because all the advertised places were included in the tour, and they didn't make a fuss when we quit at Ollanta. Still - avoid.

First of all, my tour was to the manu national parque and organized with Manu expeditions what was really good. I wrote another review for the tour itself. This is about the agency. I booked a 4d/3n trip in the Macaw Adventure agency in cusco... calle suecia. The guy told me about a special offer in march and because it was 100 dollar less than other agencies I thougt... why not. That's a very good price for 4 days. Rafting I had to book extra for $15 Everything else was supposed to be included. So I paid $265 instead of $350. As I said, the tour run by Manu exp. itself was totally fine. Then i realised that they put me in a wrong group, in the 3d/2n tour, which I would never had booked because the ride itself to reach the parque takes nearly one day. It was definitely macaw adventure's fold to put me in the wrong group. Not even the 3d/2n would have been $265. Back to Cusco the guy apologized for that and only wanted to give me back $20 ... after discussing I got a little more back in the end. Do yourself a favor to enjoy the trip properly and DO NOT BOOK WITH MACAW ADVENTURE. You will regret it.
