We contacted Flavio for three different tours near Cusco and he was always very helpful and professional in planning everything.
Flavio is a very knowledgeable guide who tirelessly guided us around Machu Picchu and the sacred valley, telling us everything about the Incas and the territory.
Equally exceptional was the organization of our camping in the Andes, where Flavio provided us all the necessary equipment to camp without suffering from the cold and he gave us many tips to not suffer from the altitude. We had a chef, Niko, who pampered us from waking up until nightfall, preparing many delicious dishes!
If we were to go back to Peru, we would definitely contact Flavio again!

We traveled to Peru with our 3 young kids (ages 11, 9, and 7) and Flavio was our guide on 3 separate days. We could not have asked for a better guide. He was always on time, knowledgeable about the cultural history, and fantastic with our kids. He taught us so much about the Sacred Valley, Cuzco, and Machu Picchu, and we all left with a greater understanding of the Incan civilization and the history of Peru. My kids adored him and he was able to tailor his message to teach all of us. We wouldn't hesitate to use him again if we are lucky enough to return to Peru!

Flavio Humiani, and Photo Tours Peru Day Tours is the company and guide you should use if your looking for more than your regular tour guide. When in Peru this past August 2016. I used a big tour operator and Photo Tours Peru. If you like being herded like a cow from bus to tourist sight then being rushed to look take photos and back to the bus, then stick with the big tour operator. If you are into photography and taking your time to see and learn about the sights Photo Tours Peru Day Tours is defiantly who you should book your tour with. Flavio is an amazing guide with great knowledge and is patient, understanding, and willing to help you with you photography and also willing to lear from you about photography. I was on the Ausangate - Vinicunca Trek and had a fantastic time, Flavio and team where great along with great food and the landscapes are equally as amazing. Weather your a photographer or not and are looking for the personal touch on your tours around Peru you need to book with Flavio and Photo Tours Peru Day Tours. I would recommend Photo Tours Peru Day Tours 100%

Our family of four took the 5 d/ 4 n Inca Trail tour with Flavio one week ago. Flavio is an amazing guide: thoughtful, genuine, kind, great sense of humor; knowledgeable about Inca history and proud of his Inca heritage; capable of naming every plant, insect, and bird on the trail; and an accomplished nature photographer. We've only been back to Dallas for a few days and have already recommended this trip--with Flavio, in particular--to numerous friends.

Most Inca trail trips are advertised as 4 d/ 3 n. Flavio's trip are at a more leisurely pace, enabling you to soak in the scenery, pause to catch your breath (you'll be hiking as high as 13,800 feet), and take some great photos. Why not take an extra day to enjoy this once-in-a-lifetime journey to Machu Picchu, rather than rushing it?

Also note that the food is handmade and excellent and the cook and porters work extremely hard and deserve compensation and your utmost respect.

Photo Tours is run by Flavio, an incredible guide with more than a decade of experience. I spent four days with him, hiking near Rainbow Mountain and a portion of the Inca Trail, and I could not have chosen a better tour! Flavio is helpful, friendly, and incredibly knowledgeable about his country and its history. He is also a photographer and took some amazing photos of me that I was so pleased to bring home. Can't recommend him highly enough!

We did the 1 day photo tour of Chincherro, Moray, and Ollantaytambo and it was wonderful. Flavio Humiani picked us up at our hotel and immediately was filling us in on the history of the area in great detail. In between stops we learned all about the Incan empire and local culture. We were able to see so much in that one day because he was so prepared and professional and he took us to a great place for lunch which ended up being one of our favorite meals on of the whole trip. I thought the whole tour was a great experience and I will use them again if we decide to come back to South America to go to Bolivia to see the salt flats.

I did a two-day, one-night trek to Rainbow Mountain with Flavio and the Photo Tours Peru team. It was excellent! The food was gourmet and delicious (stuff trout, warm and flavorful soups, etc). Flavio knew the area well and understood my needs as a photographers to move slowly through the landscape, stop often and arrive at the most stunning landscapes just in time for the best light. He also taught me a few new techniques about night photography and working with mountain light. The trek was difficult for my sea level lungs, but he was patient with my hiking pace and helpful all the way. My only regret is that I didn't have more time to do a longer trek.

Flavio made this a trip we will never forget. We did the 5 day hike to Choquequirao. The hike had breathtaking vistas and Flávio captured all of them with his photos. He has an amazing eye for composition and light. Flavio has a wealth of knowledge about the area and the history of the Incas.
He was also supportive, patient, and encouraging when the trail was tough. His crew saw to all our needs. The food was great.

Flavio was my guide for my Salkantay trek, a 5-day hike though the Cordillera Vilcabamba culminating in Machu Picchu. Flavio was very knowledgeable about the local flora and fauna, as well as the history of the Incas and the culture and customs of the villagers that still live in the region. Throughout the trek, we stopped at regular intervals and he would comment on various features of the landscape or terrain, whether we were in the mountains or rain forest. He has a very keen eye for detail, especially with respect to photography. I was able to get some great shots of butterflies and stick-bugs, which I would have missed had it not been for Flavio. He was also able to set up a great night shot of me looking up at the Milky Way at the base of Mt. Salkantay, which was one of the highlights of the trek. It was also obvious that he was in great shape and could out-hike any of the members of our group, as I saw several times when he would suddenly appear behind us, having lagged a bit to take some photographs, only to quickly close the distance by climbing a steeper path towards us with his camera cradled in his hands and relying only on sheer leg power. He was able to do so without the usual huffing and puffing that you would expect from such an effort. Despite this, Flavio was very patient with those of us in the group who may have struggled with the hike and he always made sure we were okay. I also liked that he gave us options of different paths to take, depending on what we wanted to see and level of difficulty. Finally, one of the things that I will remember about Flavio was his constant laughter when playing soccer with him, my fellow group members, and the porters after a grueling day of hiking. I thought he may have been laughing at my ineptitude on the pitch, but when I asked him why he was laughing, he said that "soccer was about happiness."

I had the opportunity to meet Flavio Huamani Quejia for the first time when I joined a group he was guiding on the Inca Trail. I was very impressed by his professionalism and his knowledge of history. He spoke English very well, and had a very easy manner about him that was reassuring.
When I found out that he was offering a photographic tour I jumped at the chance. I had witnessed a great deal of enthusiasm for photography when I met him the first time, and I thought that it would be a great experience again. I was not disappointed!

Seeing the Inca Trail again was amazing, as it offers many opportunities for unforgetable photography...the scenery was breathtaking, and Flavio's guidance very helpful. He certainly knew the best places to photograph, but he also has a very keen eye for things that are totally out of the ordinary. It was very nice to see his appreciation of what nature has to offer...he is so respectful of Pachacama (Earth) that I couldn't help wishing that there more people like him in the world.

I recommend this trip very highly...you will NOT be disappointed! It is a tour that ideally should last for at least three days, so don't expect to be away for just a few hours. Sleeping is in tents and sleeping bags, which can be rented. Bring warm clothing for night wear, and don't forget the sunscreen! Also, I would highly recommend bringing your own toilet paper. The bathrooms could have been better, but who cares? The scenery and company more than made up for it!

I felt that the cost was fair, $700, which included snacks, meals and water. You should try to get to Cusco at least a couple of days before you start the tour so you can acclimate to the altitude.
