I know it sounds cliche’, but this really was the trip of a lifetime. David impressed me even before we got to Peru. Our original itinerary called for a stay in Cusco the night of the day we visited Machu Picchu, however our flight the next day from Cusco to Lima was cancelled and we had to leave the same day we visited the Inca site. David arranged for earlier bus and rail tickets, lunch prior to boarding the train, a shuttle back to the hotel to get our checked luggage, and travel to the airport. This all happened like clockwork. David was also very open to answering questions and providing assistance via Zoom meetings and email prior to the trip. His logistical talents are outstanding.

As far as the trip itself, David provided much more than the Inca trail hike. He took our group of 10 on a tour of Cusco the day we arrived, including a walk through the local market (and some fabulous sweat bread.) I was impressed with his knowledge of the city’s architecture and history, even pointing out building foundations that used stones removed from an Inca site. We also enlisted David for a tour of Sacred Valley while staying in Cusco and acclimating to the altitude. The tour included a visit to an alpaca ranch, an ancient Inca site, and salt mines. Again, David was super knowledgeable, taking time to explain what we were experiencing and to answer questions. It was on the Inca Trail where David really shined.

David and his assistant, Rum, were fantastic guides on the Trail. The breathtaking scenery was accented by David and Rum’s knowledge of the area and explanation of the various Inca sites along the way. (You will see several Inca structures along the train in addition to the ultimate glam of Machu Picchu.). For example, the first night in camp David pointed out the “Southern Cross” constellation and explained its significance to the Inca culture and the Inca Cross. Finally, one cannot overlook the porters and cooks, who went to great pains to make sure we had lunch, dinner, and camp ready for us each day. I can’t remember the last time I was fed this well when on a hiking/camping trip!

The 4 day Inca Trail hike to Machu Picchu with David and his Assistant guide Ron was one of the most special experiences you can have in life. The scenery and many Inca sites along the trail are profoundly beautiful and interesting, but it’s David’s knowledge, kindness, and engaging nature that really take the trip to the next level. He was very patient with our group despite a number of people struggling with the altitude and was an excellent problem solver when it came to difficulties along the trail. Every detail of the trip was accounted for and nothing was overlooked. I can’t recommend this trip enough (it was a once in a lifetime type thing), and would be sure to tell any of my friend’s travelling to Peru to work with Andean Path Travel for the best possible experience.

Myself and my partner did the 5 day lares trek and two day short Inca trail with Andean Path both the entire trek and our guide Ron was incredible. Originally we wanted to do the classic four day Inca trail trek but it was sold out for the dates that we wanted, Andean Path responded to us very quickly letting us know what treks were available and what they recommended based on what we were looking for. We really valued the peace and quiet of the Lares trek as we were the only two people in the group and we saw hardly any other hikers during those three days. Adding on the short Inca trail was very worth it for us as we really appreciated being able to hike into Machu Picchu and arrive via the sun gate as well as having two days to explore the site. There is two nights in hotels while on the trek and the hotel in Ollantaytambo was great, the hotel in Aguas Calientes we wished that we were given the option to pay a bit more for a higher end hotel. If you are considering doing this trek request Ron as your guide! He was a wealth of information on the hike for any and all questions we had about Peru, the wildlife, etc. he was also excellent at getting you excited for the hike and making sure that you felt comfortable the entire time.

What an amazing adventure we had! David and Rom were absolutely amazing guides. They told funny stories, pointed out all the plants, animals and flowers on the trails and really took their time to get to know us individually.

We had a large group of 16 people with all types of fitness levels. David ensured we were all taken care of and completed the 3.5 day trek on the Inca Trail, the trek to/from Humantay Lake, and since Rainbow Mountain was closed David took us to the salt mines, a textile factory and the Moray archaeological site.

I cannot recommend Andean Path Travels for your tour guides and porters. The porters were all polite and so very hard working, the chef cooked us the most delicious meals and even made us a cake!! I learned so much on this once in a lifetime journey and cannot thank David and Andean Path Travels enough!!

Our group that consisted of four people booked a two day tour from Cusco to Ollatayambo to Machu Picchu and then back to Cusco with Andean Path Travel. It was a truly amazing experience so I really recommend to people to book a tour with this agency if they want to explore the Cusco area and Machu Picchu. Furthermore our guide David is a great guy full of knowledge and that contributed to our experience. We had very interesting conversations during these two days and he also gave us information about our stay in Peru.

I did a 5 day customized tour which included all of the must visit places in Peru. He was the best tour guide I have ever taken. David was amazing in his service, I'm an asthmatic person so taking hikes was extremely hard and challenging for me. But David made sure I got to every location safely, he helped me cross all the paths and held my bags for the whole time of every hike and my bag was extremely heavy as I was carrying cameras and tripods. He even showed us places for exchanging money and food for our first day. I'm not even lying when I say this, he's probably the best tour guide I have had till now. I'm not physically fit either so I had to take breaks in between my hikes and I had to hike very slowly, he was extremely patient with me throughout the whole time. He takes great photos as well! We stopped at almost every stop we could imagine to get photos. I have attached some of my photos as well. He's genuinely a great person ans very helpful I would 100% recommend him to anyone visiting Peru. And if you want a different trip than the ones he has listed just message him and he will make it a customized tour just like he did for us. We came in January just for reference, and it's during rainy season so there was a lot of rain during the time and he was so patience with me and showed me dry spots so I don't slip.

I did a customized tour with David with my friends. We did Humantay lake, and two day sacred valley and machu picchu. We were supposed to do rainbow mountain also but we couldn’t because of snow and he took us to another nice inca site instead. We love taking a lot of pictures, he took us to places really early in the morning so we could get nice photos before the place got crowded. He was very caring and helped us with hiking. He planned out everything very timely. The transportation was a big micro bus which was very comfortable with really good peruvian music. We had time to relax there after long day of hikes. If you book him you don’t have to worry about anything for your trip including hotels, food , transportation.

I ended up scheduling a last minute tour with David (Andean Path Travel). He was extremely responsive in scheduling, really attentive, explained everything in detail before departure.

I got altitude sickness just before departure, and David completely changed the itinerary on the fly to accommodate me - going more than above and beyond. He was so patient and just an incredible guide, he made sure we made it to Machu Picchu and I got to see everything that was most important, having to change all forms of transit essentially. What an incredible person! Thank you so much David! 10 stars if there were 10.

David and Rom and the entire team provided an excellent experience for all 10 of our diverse group (that ranged in age from 18 to 68). We had a wonderful tour of the scared valley before beginning our 4 day hike on the Inca Trail. The trail has some of the most breathtaking views you will ever see on this once in a lifetime epic adventure.

David & Rom were attentive and encouraging as we made our way through the 4 days and 3 nights on the trail. Every detail was carefully thought through and planned by David and his team. When we had notice that our flight home was canceled & we needed to rearrange our last day David made everything work seamlessly. I could not have asked for a better group & would highly recommend ANDENA PATH TRAVEL as the best possible option to guide you through this amazing experience!

Thank you so much for organising the trip for us, it was amazing 🤩
We loved everything and Juan Jose was a great guide. He was always on time and so helpful arranging all our trips and making sure everything went smoothly. We were all very happy with the accommodation and the food was all delicious. The staff at the lodge were very friendly too. I would definitely recommend it to other people
We had lots of activities included in our trip, zip lining which was amazing and great fun. The trip to Lake Sandoval was lovely the lake was beautiful and the sunset was stunning. We had a close encounter with a Cayman which was awesome. Monkey island was interesting and it was fabulous to see the monkeys in the trees, we also enjoyed our time on the river. It was fabulous seeing the parrots at the clay lick too.
All in all we had a great time and everyone was very accommodating
