I just finished volunteering with Sonco Wasi in Cusco, Peru, for 10 days and enjoyed every second of it. The two projects they have operating, one supporting disadvantaged youth in the Sacred Valley and the other assisting youth with special needs in Cusco, are both fulfilling and fun! The organizers did a great job setting up our residence and getting us acquainted with the city. The most rewarding part of the experience was impacting the kids' lives in a positive way. Thank you Sonco Wasi!!

My time with Sonco Wasi was short but i'll never forget a single moment of it. I will definitely come back. Although my spanish is bad, it was really nice to play soccer with the kids in taray and with help from my volunteer coordinator, Claire, I was able to give them some english lessons and learn them something about my country (Holanda). The kids in taray are so friendly and they love the classes from sonco wasi so that was great to see! The other project with hogar de las estrellas was really incredible aswell, they can always need an extra pair of hands and you feel so usefull. It's pretty heavy to see it all, but it's amazing helping them. They're so greatful. Also Karol makes your stay unforgettable and one thing is for sure. I will get back to sonco wasi!

I volunteered with Sonco Wasi last year for couple of days. Karol and the volunteer coordinator were very polite, prompt to pick up and dedicated.

There is never a dull moment at Sonco Wasi, as there is so much fun to be had! I volunteered for a couple of weeks in September of this year with my boyfriend and we had so much fun drawing, playing games, reading, teaching and organising activities for the children. You have to bring a lot of energy with you each day but the kids are amazing and they make the experience very rewarding. As volunteers we were encouraged to get involved as much as we liked with planning classes and thinking up creative ways to help them learn English. Thanks Karol & Kate!

This is a terrific organization, with wonderful intentions and visible benefits for the children. They have flexible volunteer opportunities, and spending time with these beautiful kiddos was truly a gift. I have visited twice now, and spent an extended time working on my own project with the kids, they were extremely accommodating. Thank you!

Hi I have worked with (on and off) and known Karol at Sonco Wasi for 3 years. Sonco Wasi for me was a really good introduction to Cusco, the Sacred Valley and teaching English to a great bunch of children. Volunteering with Sonco Wasi is so much more than a "volunteer position" you become part of the team and as cheesey as it sounds you really are within the Sonco Wasi family. Karol has given so much to this cause personally and professionally since I have known her. It is a very intimate experience and your contribution is valued much higher than you realise. This is a grassroots organisation that will create its own place in your heart, permanently. I could go on and say so much more but better to have your own experience, it will be positive :)
