The Sacred Valley is one of the loveliest destinations in Peru and this full-day tour from Cusco includes major archaeological sites and off-the-beaten-path hiking. Amazing, cheap restaurant and coffee/tea bar. This undiscovered gem is worth visiting if you want to enjoy the Peruvian cuisine and good coffee for an excellent price and with excellent service. Definitely take the chocolate Vulcano for dessert!

I went to one of the many tourist agencies at Av del Sol in Cusco and arranged an ATV trip to Moray. What a great experience it was. Unbelievable how the Inca people have created such places.

We booked an English speaking tour. The company booked a regular taxi for our group to get to the ATV rental. It took a very long time for the taxi to pick up all the group members and this made us late to both Maras and Moray. When we arrived to the first sight, there was no instruction whatsoever and the man who led the ATV walked off and never spoke to us. Our English speaking tour guide never showed up. At the second site we were rushed out of the car and told to hurry and take our pictures to get going back to the city. Then on the drive back they stopped 10 minutes away from the city center and told everyone to get out of the car and walk back. This was not anywhere near the original pick-up spot.

These ruins are a unique circular pattern that sinks into the earth. What is most striking is the large scale of the construction. We later learned from a tour guide that they think the original purpose of Moray was an agricultural "lab" to test different species of crops in different microclimates. There is a path to walk down into the ruins, but we did not have time for that.
