Adventures in Cusco, Peru
Aug 2019 • Couples
Hilbert made our vacation stay so much easier and fun. Picked us up from the airport and took us back. He had our itinerary ready. Very punctual. Always making our stay comfortable. Always ready to answer questions anytime. The tours were excellent. His experience of 25 plus years in tracking and guide made us submerge in the Inca history. Thank you again for making our experience unforgettable. Highly recommend Hilbert.

Salkantay Trek to Machu Picchu the 5D/4N adventure!!
Aug 2019
My husband and I had a wonderful hike with Peru Adventure People. There are a lot of companies to choose from for this hike; however, what sets Hilbert apart are all the many little touches and extra miles he and his staff go to to make the trip both enjoyable and safe. With respect to safety, Hilbert carries a tank of oxygen, which fortunately we didn't need, and hires an extra mule, which my husband did need to reach the pass. He also provided a bucket of hot water with coca leaves to soak our tired feet in at night and we were awoken every morning with hot coca tea delivered to our tent! Albert, the cook for our trip, cooked fabulous multiple course meals that were always healthy and beautifully presented. Hilbert, an archaeologist, by training is extremely knowledgeable not only about Machu Picchu but other archaeological sites in Peru and Peruvian history. Any surprises we encountered were pleasant ones, like being met at the Cusco Airport and a pineapple fruit salad in the form of a turtle for breakfast one morning! Last, but not least, Hilbert responds quickly to messages and requests for information. Enjoy your time with Hilbert and Peru Adventure People!!

Best Peru Trekking experience
Jul 2019 • Couples
We did the Huchuy Qosqo (small Cusco) Trek and short Inca Trail to Machu Picchu with Hilbert and Peru Adventure People. Hilbert organised everything from the moment he came to our Hostel for an orientation to ensure we were comfortable and prepared, to dropping us back in Cusco four days later with a great recommendation on a local place for our dinner.

Hilbert has over 20 years experience trekking through the mountains coupled with working as an Archaeologist in and around Cusco. There was nothing he did not know and was happy to take the time to explain everything to us from the types of flowers along the trek to the history of the Pre-Incas, Incas and Spanish times. The passion of Peru Adventure People is easy to see.

I highly recommend the Huchuy Qosqo and short Inca Trail as we were on our own with no other tourists crowding the experience for the entire 2 days on the Huchuy Qosqo trek which was amazing. The catchphrase "Hold your Llamas" means you are never rushed and always looked after in the sometimes challenging altitude. On the short inca trail we could hear and see other guides not explaining or letting people experience the once in a lifetime opportunity at their own pace, where Hilbert actively encouraged us to take as much time as we needed. "Machu Picchu has been there for hundreds of years it is not going anywhere. No need to race!"

Icing on the cake is the personalized video that the team made for us along the way! We also got the pictures and short clips that had been taken along the way.

Anyone looking for a custom trip or just a quality experience i would definitely recommend Peru Adventure People. Hold your Llamas!

Incredible experience

Peru Adventure People made this hiking experience incredible. I did the Salkantay Trek, and it was one of the most wonderful experiences of my life. I can't even explain how incredible it was. But if you're thinking of going on this hike, don't hesitate and just do it. You won't regret it, specially with Peru Adventure People.

Magical experience in the land of the Inkas!
Dec 2017 • Couples
My husband and I went on a 4 days hiking trip with Peru Adventure People and everyting was outstanding.
We combined the Huchuy Qosquo trail along the Sacred Valley, with breathtaking views from the top of the mountains, and the Short Inka trail, with arrival at Machu Picchu through the Sun Gate and a full visit to the site on the last day.
I would definitely suggest the combination of these 2 trails as it gives the possibility to experience very different landscapes and to combine high altitude hiking and gentle paths, camping in a tent and sleeping in hotels, abandoned Inka sites (we visited so much more than Machu Picchu!) and lively villages...so you will have a great overview of the region and its life!
Hilbert was an amazing guide, always making sure that we were able to hike at our own pace and that we were 'holding our llamas' and enjoying the journey while he introduced us to local culture and history, of which he is very knowledgeable of.
His team took excellent care of us, especially with delicious food!
All in one I could have never imagined a better way to experience Machu Picchu, one of the most magical places on Earth...thank you Peru Adventure People, we hope to be back some time soon!

Great Family Adventure to Machu Picchu!
Dec 2017 • Family
Hilbert was our guide and he was fantastic! We did the 2d/1n trek with our family of 7 - 4 adults and 3 kids ranging from 9-17. It was unbelievably beautiful and we didn't have to worry about any details at any point. They also arranged tours for us in Cusco and a tour down to Puno. Our family will never forget how special this adventure was for us!

Hold your llamas on this journey to the Mountains!
Apr 2016 • Friends
We booked the 4day/3night Inca Trail trek - one of the best experiences we have had! Everything was taken care of very well and the 4 of us felt in safe hands. None of us had done any hiking of this level but the support we had from the guides, especially Hilbert was just really nice. He helped and supported us all the way, effortlessly giving us the encouragement rather than pushing us to the finish line, so we really felt we accomplished something at the end. The whole trek was very well organised and done in a timely manner and we had a really good team, including the co-coordinators, cooks and porters, all making this journey absolutely wonderful and memorable. The food is amazing, especially for vegetarians and those with other dietary requirements. This is really taken care of and you're never left hungry! Happy hour with popcorn, snacks and cocoa tea is something to look forward to. Each evening we are clearly briefed on the next day's adventure which really gets us motivated. We were lucky and had a great group - all with varying levels of hiking ability, yet everyone was very supportive of one another. We have definitely made some great friends from across the globe - and this company and trek really helps with that. I would highly recommend this trek regardless of your hiking ability. You will have an amazing experience and beautiful journey with Peru Adventure People - even luckier if you end up with Hilbert as a tour guide! Really made the whole trip memorable with his years of experience and hilarious stories from people all across the world. Eye opening and truly entertaining. We definitely held our llamas and made it to the top - and what a sight it was! If you get a chance, definitely buy a t-shirt which proves you completed the Inca Trail and survived the Dead Woman's pass!

Wonderful Tour Operators

Our guide, Silverio, was perfect. The trip was so well planned and we got to visit some of the most amazing places. He had our tickets all arranged ahead of time and provided so muhc knowledge to each venue. We went as part of a group that I joined once I got to Cusco. Highly recommend them!

Machu Picchu adventure
Dec 2012 • Friends
Our Peru trip and especially the Inca Trail was one of the best experiences I had, thanks to Peru Adventure People! The trip was really busy and tight scheduled, we wanted to see as much as possible in two weeks, most of it we planned ourselves... all the hotels, tickets, routs, but the Inca Trail we just booked with Peru Adventure people without further thinking and had no regrets. Everything was planned for us: transport, great food, tents, everything we need, the guides were just great - good English, great knowledge and sense of humor. We had no worry at all, all you had to concentrate on - is walking and enjoying the Inca Trail. Big thank you to all the organizers and all the people involved, very good job, Would highly recommend.
