The Dominican nuns take care of this convent and provide a little museum of Saint Catherine's life. There are often sisters on the grounds and they are friendly and approachable. Good photo op.

A typical Catholic church on the grand square in Cusco. Ornate details inside. The Cathedral is right across the square.

We took a tour here and found it fascinating. The grounds really speak of the Inka culture and spiritual belief. We thought it was very interesting, great history and art.

Wonderful afternoon spent at the Monasterio Santa Catalina. Such a rich history and beautiful architecture. We hired one of the guides inside the Convent, highly recommended for the history and context. This is a must stop in Arequipa, which is itself such a wonderful city...More
