Around Lima, up to Cusco, through the Sacred Valley, along the Inca Trail and into Machu Picchu, and down to Paracas, Kuoda arranged another exceptional tour. From our arrival in Lima, Kuoda took care of us from the start to finish of our 14 days in Peru. The hotels are ideally placed and of very high quality, the guides are the best there are, and the extras and access provided are incomparable. In addition to our tour of Lima, Cusco, the Sacred Valley, the Inca Trail, Machu Picchu, the Nazca Lines, Paracas National Park, there were food tours of Lima and Cusco, a wonderful visit to a village in the heights of the Andes, and a tour of the Ballestas Islands.
I want to give extra kudos to Kuoda for the drivers they employ, specifically Daniella around Cusco and the Sacred Valley. It is very rare to see women drivers for tours and Daniella was one of the best drivers we ever had. Whether they knew it or not, Kuoda broke barriers, as many locals and fellow drivers were stunned and amazed to see Daniella at the wheel driving. This was part of the excellent experience and Daniella is such a warm and wonderful person.
Our guide in Cusco, the Sacred Valley, along the Inca Trail, and in Machu Picchi, Valentine Quispe was exceptional. Valentine was very knowledgeable about the Inca, and also strongly true to the spirituality of the Inca and the indigenous people. If you are able to have him as a guide, you will be very lucky. Both he and Danielle took very good care of us, even helping us chase down the Vistadome train by car from Ollantaytambo to Poroy when my wife left her phone on the train!
For our journey down to Paracas, Eduardo was wonderful, very friendly and striking an instant rapport during our drive from Lima to Paracas. Exceedingly smart and funny. He knows not only knows all about the area, the history, the nature, the people, but can recommend the best restaurants in Paracas and Ica, specifically Milla Cero, which is delicious.
Our thanks to Daniel for driving us down to and all around Paracas and Ica, and getting us back to Lima for our flight home all the way from Paracas on-time.
To sum it up, if you are going to South America and want to do it right, go with Kuoda.
I’ve used them for Ecuador and Peru, and am very happy. I’m using them for the rest of my trips to Argentina, Colombia, Bolivia, and Chile as well. There’s not a better option.
