We are traveling with the Machu Picchu Viagens agency and today we did the famous Humantay Lagoon Trail and had Percy as a guide! Wonderful person who helped me a lot on the way up. In many places they talk about an intermediate trail, but I found it very difficult. Percy helped me in many moments, as well as taking several photos for us! It was pulled, but it was sensational! An unforgettable day! 🩷

We had an amazing and unforgettable experience on the Salkantay tour to Machu Picchu! We are so grateful for this wonderful experience and our wonderful guide Yoel, who taught us everything from ornithology to history from the origins of mankind. The Chefs prepared delicious meals for us. Everyone was very friendly and it was a fantastic experience. The hotel was top notch, as were each of the activities planned for us. I would definitely travel with them again.

Machu Picchu was the highlight of my trip to Peru. The country is so beautiful and the people are delightful. We flew into Lima and began our tour in Cusco. The many places we visited were steeped in Inca culture. The team of Do Adventures will give you the vacation of a lifetime.

we had 5 days and 4 nights of incredible adventure in the Andean mountains!

the hiking was one of the best experiences of my all life. Our tour guide was lovely, charismatic and spoke very good the English and he teached us some quechua words in Quechua like Inti (Sun), Killa (moon), he spoke that he born in a small comunity of Cusco, where had only 10 or 15 families, and he learned the quechua in that small comunity.

this trail is great alternative. Cheaper and far of big populations. The unique group that we saw was our and other one group who we met in the camp site. in the way we saw a big snow mountains, after to walk many days, finally we arrived to Machu Picchu.

I did some friends in the trek, and i will remember forever.

After to looking many days this travel program, my husband and I contacted to Walter of Do Adventures. and he explained us about this tek and finally we did the booking.
We Loved this adventure trail to machu picchu,The hiking was strenuous at times but the landscapes was fantastic. The best part was being in the middle of the Andean mountains covered with snow far from other tourists, of big cities. our tour guide were gracious and kind. every morning we were awoken with hot Coca tea. and every dinners we had conversations about the andian histories, in the third night we went to The Santa Teresa Hot Spring to relax, sincerely we recommended Do Adventures¡
thank so much for the unforgettable adventure.

We did Salkantay track with “Do Adventures” 21 - 25 November 2013 and we can recommend this company to other tourists.
The track can be divided into 3 parts. First part (days 1 and 2) - the Salkanatay pass (4600 meters), altitude sickness can be experienced, please take this into account when planning your trip. At the same time it is one of the most beautiful parts of the track. Unfortunately, it rained a lot during those 2 days but it did not spoil our impression of the track.
Second part (days 3 and 4) is mainly walking along the roads. Sometimes we took lifts by cars. Our third night stay was at Santa Teresa and we strongly recommend that you visit hot springs (thermal spa) there. Please bear in mind that the hot springs is the only place we were bitten by mosquitos. During day 4 we took a car from Santa Teresa to Hidroelectric and then walked along the railway to Aguas Calientes. The walk along the railway is rather interesting and picturesque. You can see the Machu Picchu from certain points. We recommend that you visit the Los Jardines de Mirador on your way (beautiful waterfalls, native trees and flowers). At Aguas Calientes we stayed in a hostel booked for us by “Do Adventures”. The hostel was very good. During the second part of the trip the weather was better during the day but it rained at night.
Third part of the trip (day 5) is visiting the Machu Picchu which was incredibly beautiful and impressive.
Both our guides (Walter and Soledad) spoke reasonably good English. They were very helpful and took all possible care of us. When woken up in the morning we were always offered a cup of tea. The cook was great - the food during the whole trip was tasty and varied. We had a chance to try some local dishes like for example quinoa.
We believe that Salkantay track is a good way to visit the Machu Picchu and to see the surrounding mountains on your way. If you plan to take the track in November please take into account that it is quite likely to rain and you should have the appropriate clothes. The only way to avoid altitude sickness is to gradually get accustomed to altitude.

We booked the Salkantay Trek with Do adventures, and found the staff there very helpful and friendly. Compared with other companies we saw online, their trek was significantly cheaper, for the exact same thing (this was apparent on the trek). It was definitely good value.
Another company, Inca Trail Reservations, runs the actual trek. Food was excellent, and everything generally ran smoothly. There were some small issues which we raised with Do Adventures and they said they would look into (such as lack of boiled water, limited snacks while hiking and communication confusion with our guide).
