Inca trail experience

We did the short Inca trail and really loved it! Our guide Edwin Ttito Ayma was great, he told us all the amazing things along the route and at Machu Picchu and showed us the best views. Edwin took great care of us when we were struggling during the hike and we loved sharing stories and experiences with him! We enjoyed the hike to Machu Picchu and the towns we stayed in. All the people were really friendly and we felt very comfortable. We highly recommend booking the Inca trail with Inka Trail Backpacker and especially with an amazing guide as Edwin was!

Unique experience with a local company

The trip was amazing. Well organized, not too expensive but still very good service. Our guide Omar is very knowledgeable and friendly, he could tell us very much, not only about the buildings and the Incas' culture but also about the nature around the trail (very beautiful). Very good traditional Peruvian food. I am vegetarian and was very happy with it.
As far as I can tell, this peruvian-owned company treats their porters well, which I find an important aspect. The porters were doing a great job, always arriving way before us, building everything up and preparing meals on time.

Wonderful experience!

We did two full day trips with Inka Trail Backpacker (Montaña de Siete Colores Pallcoyo and Ausangate - Siete lagunas) and we could not be more satisfied. Jesús’s attention, availability and responsiveness were essential for arranging the trips. Both our guide and driver were great and we had a wonderful time. The organization was perfect in every aspect. Recommended a thousand times!

Great company with Amazing guides

They planned out a 2 day tour to Machu Pichu for 3 people and it was amazing. Everything went smoothly and the guides were great. I highly recommend using them for any trip they offer. Also, the prices were really good.

Short Inca Trail

Our overall experience during the short inca trail which was 2 days and 1 night was incredible! We have to admit that our group of 4 experienced some physical difficulties with the hike but our guide Omar was really great with us and he did a great job at motivating us but allowing us to move at our pace and we never felt rushed. It was quite the shocker when we were done and reflected on how we struggled but accomplished the hike nevertheless. Omar as a guide had a lot of insight about the local culture and we learned so much from him during the second day of our tour. Dinner was delicious! We did experience a slight hickup with the returning bus connection to Cusco after the train and it took communicating with the Inka Trail Backpacker's faculty directly to get ir sorted but they quickly offered us a solution and reimbursed us for additional costs without any hesitation. Overall I would recommend this agency for the short inca trail and it was a fun and not fancy trip but there is no need for fancy when in Machu Pichu.

Inca trail

The short inca trail (2d/1n) with Omar was a great experience across the forest to machu Picchu. He patiently waited for us with no rush (time for every picture I wanted) and explained something new about the forest and the inca's history. He was so friendly and we enjoyed our time! Food was good along the way (excellent lunch box).

A humbling & memorable 2D1N Inka Trail experience!

It was a very humbling experience to participate in this Inka Trail. It was way more challenging than I'd expected, but we survived :') It took me lots of focus & grit to push through this long hike, since I was extremely amateur towards hiking & suffered several muscle injuries along the way. Our experienced guide (Omar Salas) helped us carry some of our baggage to ease our burdens, & allowed us to take ample breaks to catch our breath. The Machu Picchu view at the end was all worth it, & I'm glad we made it! Also, outside of the trail, our tour guide enthusiastically shared all the amazing food we could enjoy at Aguas Calientes & Cusco! It was definitely a comforting moment after a crazy hike, & we especially loved Chicha Morada. On day 2, I learnt a lot about the history of Machu Picchu, & I loved the introduction shared by our guide. I would recommend this hike to anyone who loves adventures & a good climb!

Breathtaking trek through Peruvian rainforest walking in the footsteps of ancient Inka peoples

Amazing experience hiking the Inka trail nothing like it in the world! I visited Peru in the dry season which is September and did the one day Inka trail experience and I must say every one must try this!

Walking in the footsteps of the ancient peoples was magical and very special, also our guide Auriol was so knowledgeable of all the sites we visited. One of my favorite things about Auriol was he was easy to talk to about just about any thing, we discussed the culture of Cusco, football, and other topics as well as getting a very detailed historical account of each of the ancient sites we visited.

I would recommend this experience 100%

Perfect oneday trip to the 7 lakes of Ausgante

Amazing experience in the Ausganten mountains. Omar is a really nice guide and told us lot about the local history and overall Peruvian history/facts about inca culture. We got the learn a lot about Peruvian nature and got a lot of good hints where and when to travel next in Peru. Omar is very positive, has a good attitude and speaks very well english. Omar knows a lot about the Peruvian culture - ask him anything.

The trek is really beautiful and very calm (no tourists ;) we had fun eating at a local family. We also met a local who told us about her everyday life and she was spinning alpacca wool. They have a hotspring you can jump into after the hike.

Includes breakfast and lunch.

The lakes are pretty and the history behind them is fascinating. During the trek you will enjoy the prwtty scenery of mountains, alpachas and REAL local communities. You will really enjoy the silence of the nature.

Short Inca Trail 2 days

The tour is Amazing. My tour guide, Auriol, was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. From the moment I arrived in Cusco Inca Trail Backpackers guided me from each of the destinations. They pick you up directly at your hotel and make sure you are comfortable every step of the way. They exceeded all of my expectations. I highly recommend using this company for your Inca Trail and Machu Picchu experience.
