Beautiful Museum
Oct 2021
The Museum had great artwork. The building's architecture is just as impressive. It was a beautiful place. You can get tickets here at a discount when you purchase all 3 places at one time: the museum, the Cusco Cathedral at Plaza de Armes and San Cristobal Church. Stay close to Plaza de Armes and you can walk to the museum and Cathedral. We had William at Peru Travel Company take us to San Cristobal Church during our 1/2 Cusco tour. William explained the history very well. He is a great tour guide.

Okay museum

On our tour with our 'boleto turistico', we also visited this museum. We didn't enjoy it as much as some of the other museums, it was okay but I would not take small children here.

Loved this place! It was included in the 'boleto turistico' that we bought (also included the cathedral and other churches). The 12 angled stone is a part of this building, so easy to get there. It has a lot of interesting things, such as the paintings and colonial furniture. There is also a patio with a beautiful fountain, where you can sit and relax for a while. Only bad thing is the lack of information on the exhibitions, but still, well worth it.

Captured my imagination....
May 2017
The Religious Art Museum really sparked my curiosity and interest. I was particularly interested in how Catholicism was adapted and adopted. I agree with previous reviews that the main issue with this museum is a lack of information and description both in Spanish and/or in English. Whilst the museum has some great pieces, I'd suggest reading up beforehand and having a clear idea of what you'd like to see. As an aside, the building itself, in particular, the courtyard is very nice. Unless you have a particular interest in religious art, you probably won't need more than an hour to see this museum.

Museum and more

This museum has an amazing collection of the religious art. But the best part of the visit is the building that permits to see a great colonial house from that time. Highly recommend it. make sure you buy a so called a Religious Ticket that includes: The cathedral, San Blas, and the Museum. The ticket is valide for 30 days.

Worth visiting
Feb 2016 • Couples
Ok most of the art is Religious but it is very interesting and at a ticket price of 30 Soles this ticket also covers the main cathedral, the San Blas Church and the San Cristobal Church. Yes you get at no extra charge the electronic guide and that gives you all the explanations and it is well worth it. I am not religious at all but found it very interesting. Please bring some ID as in the main Cathedral they will not issue the electronic guide without it. I did not have a ID and they accepted my phone.

Maybe Just for Religious Art Fans
Nov 2015
My friend and I popped into the Museum of Religious Art, and we did not stay very long. I think I may be spoiled by the museums in NYC and DC, and I do not want to be too critical, but I do not think it is a must see museum.

Ehhh - not worth it
May 2015 • Solo
The art is nice, but there are no plaques/descriptions of it at all. This makes the attraction much less attractive, and the museum is quite small to begin with. It costs 5 soles for students about 10 for others. The courtyard in the center is nice, but many other museums have much more to offer for a better price. Unless you are extremely interested in religious art specifically or have lots of time to kill, this is not worth the visit.

I am not crazy about religious art and only visited this museum because half the group (the same half that drank chardonnay and margaritas) had deserted our indigenous guide and I felt for him. Loved the building....

Low on the list

Disappointing. Poor lighting, or none, in a couple of the rooms. There was no narrative written to accompany any of the paintings, and no pamphlets to guide us. Quite a few of the works appeared to need restoration. The only must-see for me was the small collection of crucifixes.
