We wanted to visit Puno and thought traveling by train could be a nice experience. We were no disappointed, the service is top quality, the comfortable seats, snacks, drinks, lunch, live entertainment, bar and a half open wagon to take scenery pictures makes worth the fare payed. We took the train with PeruRail from Machu Picchu to Cusco. The train was delayed by more than 3 hours. Stuck on board with little explanation or help from staff. Left to see other trains come and gone until we finally left the station when it was already dark. They decided to change the destination from Poroy to Cusco. We... More

Our travel agency booked this train trip from Puno to Cusco. It was a great experience. We loved this trip in the luxury of a train like in the good old days. I read somewhere that this train was rated the 2nd best touristic train in the world and I think it deserves it. The service on board was absolutely... More

We traveled on the Andean Explorer from Puno to Cusco. This is a whole day trip 8am-6pm...and very pleasant experience. Luxurious train carriages with separate lounge bar and observation carriages...so you are able to move around. Great food, live band entertainment, and scenery all included. It's not cheap but worth the price!

This was a trip splurge that I hoped was worth it. And it truly was wonderful. It's a long 10 hour ride but with amazing views the entire time. And regular entertainment music groups in the bar car. The meals were excellent and able to accommodate vegetarian and gluten free requests. It was truly glamorous and like going back to... More

This is basically the only way to get to Machu Pichu in a timely fashion and was very enjoyable. We saw mountains and birds and many parts of nature looking through the glass ceilings of the train. The food was ok but nothing really gourmet. The service was terrific and they even had a style of items made out of... More

What a way to travel! From the moment you take a seat on the luxuriously fitted out train, you relax and watch the world go by. The 10 hour journey really flies by. First off -- the service! Felipe and Carolain took great care of us during our trip. They were very accommodating and made sure we had everything we needed during the trip. The train itself is really slow, stops a lot, etc. Pretty typical for anything besides European and Japanese high-speed trains. The windows at the top of the train are... More

To be honest, this kind of train was not my cup of tea, because I'd rather much prefer going on a cheaper train with less luxury. I really don't see the point in all the fuzz. That being said, the fuzz was brilliantly executed fuzz.. the food was nice and staff great! The staff is what made the trip worth... More
