Today I went on one of the best biking trips I have ever been on - and thats really saying something. We started off in a beautiful country scene of the sacred valley, and remained in breathtaking landscapes for the entire trip. Two particularly awe inspiring places we went on this bike ride were, Moray, Maras and the salt mines. Moray was by far the coolest ancient ruins I have ever been to, and pictures really don't capture the beauty and scale of these magnificent human creations. While we were biking through the town of Moras, I got to witness to a small extent the precision and expertise that our guide, Carlos, had on his mountain bike. Bunny hopping and wall riding at every opportunity, this man was an inspiration and magnificent portrayal of what a professional mountain biker is. He also is a veteran bike mechanic and quickly fixed any and all problems. Lunch was one of the best i've had on a tour. It consisted of a buffet style sandwich bar, including fresh breads, olives, tomatos, meats, guacamole, beverages, onions, cucumbers, ect. It was very easy to eat a delicious vegetarian or meat consisting meal. Not only was our guide an incredible biker, but he was a very friendly, flexible, and knowledgable guide. Knowing a plethora of interesting facts and histories, he gave us all we wanted to know about the incredible places we went. Finally, the salt mines, where we ended our incredible journey, was fantastically and enormously incredible. From a distance, yes, they are beautiful, but it isn't until you are tasting the natural salted water which has just emerged from a mountain spring that you really feel the magic of these mines. In conclusion, I strongly reccommend this tour to anyone at any level of biking ability. Especially because Sarita, the coordinator, was very informative and friendly while we were deliberating and booking our trip.

Pastas is linked to Maximo Nivel the volunteer organization I was with. Before leaving Australia I booked the inca trail, a jungle tour and a lake titicac tour with them. They were prompt in their responses and provided me with all the information I needed. Whilst in Cusco I booked the city tour and the sacred valley tour with patas. Sarita was fantastic. This was my first time traveling and I felt very safe with my tours at all times. They were not the cheapest but not the dearest. But I felt very good value for money. Every tour was very well organized and 90% of the time my dietary ends were well met. I was due to travel from Puno to Arequipa the next day and there was going to be a strike on the roads and they bent over backwards to get me on a bus that night and even drove me to the bus station and ensured I was on the right bus. Great very well run tours and a Huge thank you to Sarita for her patience, thoughtfulness, care and knowledge. I knew you were there. I was well looked after. Footnote. Five days in the jungle was my favorite.

My friend and I had an amazing overnight trip from Cusco to Aguas Calientes and then to Machu Picchu. Machu Picchu was an amazing mix of experiences of nature, history and culture in the region. Thanks to Sarita from PATAS for one of the most beautiful trips I have ever had!
