We started planning our trip in 2019 for 2020 but with the pandemic we had to postpone to Sept 2021. We just returned from our 5 day, 4 nigh Salkentay Trek. The experience above all expectations. Elvira and Milton seamlessly worked with us to reschedule our trip. Our guides, Juan, Deyvis and Renato were excellent. Our lead guide Juan made sure every detail was taken care of and that everyone was comfortable hiking at their own pace and always had someone with them. Renato always made sure that camp was ready to welcome us with every comfort. Deyvis made sure we got our massages each night and woke us each morning with coca tea delivered to our tents and made sure we had hot water bottles for our first couple of nights. When we made the Salkentay pass on the second day they surprised us with a champagne toast. The entire trek was beautiful, the food was outstanding. The muleteers and porters were so hard working. Juan, Deyvis and Renato were kind, generous and great company. We enjoyed spending time with them as much as hiking through the beautiful landscape. Go to Peru, book through View Peru and request Juan, Deyvis and Renato as your guides. You will have the most unforgettable magic time!

View Peru’s 4 day Inca Trail glamping trek to Machu Picchu was incredible. The guides and the team were knowledgeable and made our trip truly a once in a lifetime experience.
Our guide Adrian could not have been better. His knowledge of his country is deep and thoughtful. His breadth of experience, his humor and story telling made the entire trek an incredible experience. Our assistant guide Orlando worked very well with Adrian and together we enjoyed great conversation as we made it over the multiple passes and learned about local history.
The food prepared by Juan and served by Mario was simply delicious. Juan is a magician in a camp “kitchen” and prepared restaurant quality food while at 11,000+ feet. Seeing the porters in action, while our group was struggling to just carry our day packs at that elevation, really put into perspective the immense work the porters do carrying the equipment.
The coordinators we worked with at View Peru (Javier, Rodrigo) were highly efficient. Their communication was always direct and timely.
We also had a great driver pick us up from the airport and take us back and forth from the trek. Ronald was a great conversationalist, good driver and also shared his knowledge of the local history and culture.
I highly recommend View Peru as a great company to work with on the Inca Trail trek.

My husband wanted to hike the Inca Trail for some time, but I was not too excited about it until he found View Peru’s glamping trip and I agreed. We enlisted two other couples to join us and we’re originally scheduled for September 2020, but finally made it September 2022. The trip was first class from start to finish from the communication prior to the trip with Javier to the orientation the night before with Juan, our lead guide, and Rodrigo (spelling?} logistics lead. I believe the trip was as good as it could possible be and still be considered camping. The whole team, and there were almost 40 of them for our six person group, were all amazing and made the trip so special. The porters are absolutely amazing and the hardest working people we have ever seen, carrying all the supplies including real dishes, glasses, flatware, wine, champagne and table linens! The chefs and servers were equally as impressive you can’t imagine the quality of the food and the beautiful presentation on top of a mountain with a very small limited kitchen - they even baked a cake one night! The hot showers were a real treat as were the massages after each long hard day. Lastly our guides wow! Juan our lead guide was so knowledgeable and kept us on track and took care of everything. Orlando and Leo were assigned the medium and slow ones, I knew I would be the slowest as I am the oldest and probably least in shape of our group but on top of that I woke up sick the first day of the hike and did not recover until the second day which was also the hardest hiking day. Orlando and Leo kept assuring me I “could do it”. Leo stuck by me the entire time and kept encouraging me to take breaks and drink my water, they were so positive and just a joy to get to know. My husband and I had come to Cusco early for the point of acclimating which I believe I did, I think it was either something I ate or a combination of that and nerves, Plus, warning the van ride to mile marker 82 is very rough and curvy and a couple of us got pretty car sick, I should have planned for that better. Our group, except one who “thought it would be harder” all thought it was harder than expected. There are a lot of stairs both up and down and uneven rocky surfaces. However, we saw ruins and beautiful views we would not have seen otherwise.
I can’t say I will do this particular trip again, I feel like once was enough and I’m still shocked I made it, but if I did I would highly recommend View Peru without hesitation!

We used View Peru to book a private Inca trail camping trip. Unfortunately we could not make it because of COVID-19. However, they were really helpful and responsive in giving us back our deposit unlike a lot of big companies who are still keeping us hanging. They were very professional through out the process of both booking and refunding. We were really excited to do this trip with them. Whenever, we are able to make this Peru trip, we will definitely use them.

Dear Modhurim,
We do appreciate very much your comments. It is really true that you did want to have your trip with us, but because of the pandemic situation, it was unfortunately impossible for you. Our mission is to do the best for our passengers and in your case, even more so since you could not make the trip and our obligation was to refund your deposit the best way possible.
We do hope to have you among us once you are able to make your trip
Kind regards.

Thomas and the gang took us to the trailhead a night early to make sure protests didn’t ruin our trip. The 4 day hike was sprinkled with 3 course meals, hot showers, massages, educational lessons about the Incas and more fun than we could imagine. The chefs, porters and massage therapists cheered us on even as they ran past us on the trail carrying 50lb packs. The people were so kind and eager to help us and cheer us on that we were so sad to leave. What an amazing group of people came together to make this the trip of a lifetime. They even managed to bake my daughter a cake for her 11th birthday without an oven at 12,000 feet! There were many july bdays in our group, but I couldn’t imagine a better 50th birthday trip for me. It was the perfect combination of challenge, reward and novelty that makes a trio unforgettable. Thank you Thomas for making every effort to get us to the trail, make sure we enjoyed it and made it to the end, and made sure we made it home when the trains had other ideas. You never abandoned us and made us feel like we have real friends waiting for us in our next trip to beautiful Peru!

Dear Ingrid,
Thank you so much for taking the time to share your incredible experience with View Peru. It's heartwarming to read about your unforgettable journey along the Inca Trail and Machu Picchu, especially during a time of civil unrest. Thomas and the entire team went above and beyond to ensure you had a remarkable trip, and your review truly highlights the exceptional service you received.
The proactive approach of arriving at the trailhead a night early to avoid any potential disruptions due to protests demonstrates View Peru's commitment to your safety and enjoyment. It's wonderful to hear that your 4-day hike was not just an adventure but also a culinary delight with three-course meals, hot showers, and even massages – all in the midst of the stunning Andean landscape. The dedication of the chefs, porters, and massage therapists is truly commendable, as they cheered you on while carrying heavy loads along the trail.
The kindness and support of the local people, as well as their willingness to make your daughter's 11th birthday special, added a unique and heartwarming touch to your journey. Celebrating your 50th birthday on this trip must have been an unforgettable experience, and it's clear that it was a perfect balance of challenge, reward, and novelty.
We are thrilled that Thomas and the team made sure you had a smooth and enjoyable trip from start to finish, even when faced with unexpected train delays. It's heartening to know that you felt like you gained true friends in Peru, and we can't wait to welcome you back for your next adventure in this beautiful country.
Once again, thank you for choosing View Peru, and we look forward to hosting you on your next memorable journey.

We had a Seven day trip with View Peru & Signatures to Lima, Cusco, Machu Picchu, the Sacred Valley, Rainbow mountain and Salt wells in Maras.
When we arrived at Lima there was a driver waiting for us with snacks and during the short trip to the hotel he explained a lot about Lima.
We left our bags in the hotel in the area of Miraflores and had an amazing tour in the history district of Lima with our super Nice english speaking guide. We closed the day with traditional food of Peru, like ceviche, lomo saltado and mashed potatoes with rice.
The next day we flew to Cusco where we met the amazing guide Adrian Jimenez Suma, who guided us the following 6 days. We prepared ourselves for the alititude with coca tea and diamox tablets. We enjoyed The City of Cusco with Lots of history, restaurants and shops and Adrian was so nice, friendly, helpful and shared a lot of information about the ancient times. As well we visited an ancient inca place.
The day after we were driven to the trainstation to start our one day hiking at Machu Picchu. WoW! Intense, amazing, wonderful and truly a once in a lifetime experience!!!
The days after we visited the Lost City of the Inca’s were we learned again so much about the Inca’s.
We rode a horse and hiked shortly to the Rainbow Mountain. Again…Amazing!!!
Adrian supported us with breathing and slowing down sometimes because of the high altitude!
We visited the sacred valley and the Salt wells in Maras.
To be honest I have no words for the past days. It was so so well organised! There was a gift for my friend who had her birthday from View Peru & Signatures and cake at the hotel. The lunch package we received for the Hike on Machu Picchu, which was delicious and so beautifully Packed. While on the road there were snacks and water and we when we left the last day we even received a lama as a gift.
We were so lucky with the weather which was sunny almost every day!
I highly recommend View Peru & Signatures for your organised trip to Peru and our guide Adrian!

My husband and I just completed the 4 day hike on the Inka Trail to Machu Picchu and words can’t describe how truly magical it was! The whole View Peru team knocked it out of the park. We were looking for the most luxurious camping experience and we got it! Our guide Adrian J. was so professional and he went above and beyond to take care of all of our needs. His English is very good so it made our experience much more enjoyable because we could ask questions and have a conversation. Not to mention he could translate for us at the market, with the other team members, etc. Our assistant guide Ruben was so sweet to carry my husbands pack the entire day on day 2 because he was feeling under the weather. From the time we landed in Cusco our driver Ronald was with us the entire time which I really enjoyed having the same person, and he made sure to not only take care of us but our luggage while we were on the trail which was such a relief to know it was in good hands. Finally, the entire team while on the trail exceeded expectations, our chef Celio prepared dishes fit for royalty and Wilbur was a first class waiter making sure we wanted for not. I mean who doesn’t want their coffee in bed before climbing Dead Woman’s pass! 😜 If you are looking for luxury experience on the Inka Trail then look no further View Peru and this awesome team! Thanks y’all for giving us a truly magical experience!

My wife and i had an amazing time in Peru with the help from View Peru!
Starting from the planning phase, Doris was patient and detailed oriented guiding me through each and every choices for the trip. This planning took longer than expected due to various unforeseeable reasons. However, Doris has always been here answering questions and resolving problems. Before the trip, she would also make sure to collect all the information and send reminders to ensure i don't miss anything.
Once we arrive to Cusco, Alex has been waiting for us in the airport with a big smile! As the host, he did everything he can to help us get comfortable (cushion in the car, snacks, water, etc.) and help us settle in with the high altitude. Throughout the trip, everyone from View Peru has been on time and attentive, ensuring a very successful trip for us
Thomas, our guide, is nothing short of fabulous! He is extremely knowledgably and flexible with the goal to give us a good experience in Peru. With the amazing porters' help, we hiked the inca trail in 4 days and enjoyed every minute of it. He is passionate about the culture, food, and local life, while very flexible to do what we want to explore (ie, try Cuy from a local restaurant, taste fruits from the market.) We had a great experience!
The entire trip is very smooth and well organized. View Peru team has stayed in touch to ensure everything works out even when we are already with another vendor (amazong river cruise) and having flight issue. I truly appreciate the support from everyone at View Peru and enjoyed our trip very much!

Made the camino inca trek easier than we thought thanks to plenty of support from the staff.First & foremost I would like to commend the porters that did a heck of a job carrying all the equipment food & providing the " inca express ". These were 2porters that were on either side of us that made us run down the mountain so we got to camp before nightfall. There was one porter in particular , Santiago who made 4 saves ( prevented 4 falls ) . Another special person was Maria Zila who was the main organizer on the filed. She delegated tasks to the various teams , decorated the tents , rose petals on the bed , etc. arranged for porters to bring us chamomile tea ( hot ) & sandwiches while we were hiking between camps, she is also a masseuse & worked @ a podiatrist office for 16 yrs. She volunteered to remove some corns & calluses which made it possible to do 26 miles of hiking with minimal foot pain. She was also able to change a camp for us on the final night of the trip which was closer the Macchu Picchu so we could spend more time in Macchu Picchu.
The chef & sue chef Cinon & Gusto are brothers & prepared the most delicious meals we have ever had. Feliciano the waiter gave us the white glove treatment.
Our guides Juan & Adrian were v helpful. Adrian has a special interest in photography & took some good pics for us during the hike. On the final morning of the hike I had run out of water & they opened up a champagne on the way to Macchu Picchu which was the icing on the cake. I would highly recommend this team as they they made it a trip of a lifetime.

Our experience with ViewPeru, its guides, drivers, porters and all other employees was outstanding. They planned a Peru tour for us including Lima, Arequipa, Colca Canyon, Puno, Cusco, the classic Inca Trail and the Amazon. They treated us like family, were available for 24 hours a day and catered to our every need. I am a single Mom traveling with two young teens and we felt safe and cared for in every aspect of our amazing trip. The tour guides are excellent - warm, friendly and knowledgeable. The vehicles are in excellent condition and very comfortable. The drivers are exceptional - even in that crazy Peruvian traffic! Special mention to Doris (our tour organiser) who chose the most exquisite hotels for my children and me and who planned an extraordinary tour experience; Erika, who met us at Lima airport when we were first arrived and cared for us like we were family (my daughter still refers to her as "abuela"); and Tomas, our Cusco and Inca Trail tour guide with his impressive knowledge of the Andes, his hiking expertise, his love for his culture, language, history and heritage, and his warmth, friendliness and fatherly nature (which kept my kids going on the toughest parts of the trail). The Inca Trail was the highlight of our trip and ViewPeru’s glamping experience was very special. The trail porters are incredible in what they do. It is quite emotional for us to think back on these people who became like family to us and ensured we had the trip of a lifetime. I cannot recommend ViewPeru highly enough - they are an exceptional tour company with the highest levels of service and standards you would fine anywhere in the world.

I am booked and excited to go! What type of day packs did you bring (size, etc) and what did you normally carry with you? Thanks!
Written July 14, 2018
Most of my friends carried a 20L knapsack, which is quite enough for all you need for the day. I carried a 9L because my husband carried a 35L to lessen my load. We also had a 2L camelbak for water, which gets refilled if you need during the day when we break for lunch. What you carry depends on which season you go... we went in May which is the dry season so we didn't pack for rain geat. View Peru really took care of us so things like rain ponchos, walking sticks, daily snacks etc were supplied for us. I had one of those ultra light fleece which is enough for early morning and night. So pack in your knapsack like you would go for any 6 to 8 hours day hike. Definitely sunscreen. And toilet paper. Have a great trip!! :)
