I consider myself a pretty experienced hiker. The 4d/3n Incan Trail hike was one of the hardest hikes I've ever done. It pushed me passed my limits in the best way possible. The whole time, our guides, Rosel and Americo were insightful, helpful and created a fun environment. Rosel's love for his heritage really comes through when he is explaining... More

Yesterday we returned from the 4day/3night inka trek, I already miss our amazing tour guides Rusel and Americo, all the smiling porters, the delicious food and the spectacular scenery! It was challenging, there were highs and lows.... but it was fabulous. Why choose The green machine? (Alpaca) The guides, the food, the choice of campsites, the fact that they give... More

South America / Machu Pichu has never been on my bucket list, it should have been and if it is on yours, Alpaca Expeditions is the company to contact! Fantastic experience from the moment you are picked up to return to your hotel, Alpaca is very well organized. Our guides, Efra and Nilton worked with the 13 participants on the... More

Very proud to say we scaled the 15,200 ft. Salkantay pass on our trek to Machu Picchu. Not for the out-of-shape or those easily deterred. However, if you're willing to go for it you will be rewarded with magnificent views and a real sense of the back country of this area of Peru. Much less travel path to the ruins,... More

We recently completed the Lares Trek with Alpaca Expeditions, and it was the most unforgettable experience. Our guide, Javier was amazing, so informative and fun. The food was incredible - I have no idea how the chefs manage to prepare and cook such amazing meals - it was some of the best food we've had in Peru! The scenery is... More

A group of 6 friends and I did the Salkantay 5d/4n trek with Alpaca Expeditions and could not recommend them more. The Alpaca Expedition crew were just everything we could wish for! Our amazing cook Mesias Huaman and his assistant Elder Herrera spoiled us with delicious meals all the way... There were 5 females in our group, therefore... lots of... More

I shall say the following: 1. Professional guide. Our guide, Erafain, is one of the best tour guide I have ever met. 2. Porters and Chef are very nice. Especially the chef. Every meal is unforgettable. 3. Lots of surprise during the trip with the whole team! I highly recommend this 2D1N trip with alpaca Expedition. You will never regret... More

Even with the unforeseeable circumstances of a Peru Rail train strike...Alpaca Expeditions did everything possible to make our trip wonderful. They changed all of our reservations, purchased our tickets, picked us up from our hotel, and went above and beyond to make our trip the best! Our guides for both the Sacred Valley Tour and the Machu Picchu trek were... More

I spent a good two months contacting the myriad tour companies in Peru to plan and price out our adventure so when I finally settled on Alpaca Expeditions, you know it was a careful and deliberate decision. We wanted the best price for a tour that included all of the following: hotel pickup in Cusco; Expedition Train or better to... More

Hiking the Inca trail is a special experience all on its own. But the experience is heightened when trekking with Alpaca Expeditions. We did the Classic Inca Trail 4D/3N trek. We had an amazing time and met some really great fellow trekkers. Of particular note, the food on the trek was better than food we had in Cusco and Lima.... More
