Historic Cusco in unique, a Spanish colonial city build over the foundations of the Inca capital. Don't make the mistake of thinking that Cusco is just a stopping off point on the way to and from Machu Picchu. Machu Picchu is one of the best...More

Beautiful little square. Very narrow little streets with many little shops around. Beautiful place to see. Little restaurant with blue balconies, sorry- I don't remember the name of it, serves great alpaca steaks!

The historic center of Cusco is charming, a place that can fire a poets or writers imagination. Its not only the buildings and architecture, but also the people. Andeans dressed up colorfully, cobble stoned streets, old baroque styled churches etc. There is a quaint cobble...More

Great, as everybody knows. Advice, avoid the restaurants around the plaza, they are quite bad, for breakfast OK (how bad can that be !!).

This square is beautiful and busy. It's the center, so there are expensive tourist restaurants, but there are some yummy more affordable eats just a little ways off the square.

Hello all, we are going to Peru in June. Any tips for our trip to Cusco would be appreciated. How much time should I allow for Cusco? How about Machu Picchu? What time did you leave and how much time did you spend there? I assume you came back the same day to Cusco? Sorry for all the questions but I have never done anything like this before and I am a little clueless. Thanks, Barry
