Amigos Spanish School? (2 Replies)
Hello, I'm wondering if anyone has experience with Amigos Spanish School in Cusco. It looks like a previous poster was planning to attend but I couldn't find a trip report. I'm also open to other schools if you had a really fantastic experience you'd like to share. About me: I'm a 30-something woman traveling with my 20-something female cousin; so far we've had two Spanish school trips (CPI in San Joaquin, Costa Rica, and Ixbalanque in Copan, Honduras.) We're exploring options for our...More

Lima, may be a better option to avoid altitude problems and the weather is much nicer this time of year. There are several options depending on how long you plan to spend. For several months ICPNA may be a good low cost option. For several weeks I would try EL SOL in Miraflores. If you are interested I will find there website.

I am a middle aged woman traveling to Cusco in April. I will be studying Spanish at the Amigos Spanish School and doing a family homestay. I am a little nervous, has anyone done anything like this on this forum? Also, I am staying at the Lima airport while waiting for my flight out to Cusco. Is that a safe plan? Thanks, I love this forum.

Lima airport is ok to stay for the night. Go to the food court area located at the departure end. I do not know about the particular school you are going to, but many people stay with local families to learn spanish. You´ll be fine.
