I booked this trek with 2 friends but left it open for others to join. In the end 6 of us went mid November. This is meant to be wet season but we had only one day of rain - and the couds make for a more interesting view - the rain broke when we were camped overlooking Machu Picchu... More

We wanted to go to Peru, but had little idea of where to start in putting our trip together. We love adventure, and knew we wanted to do some of the "basics" like Machu Picchu, but that was about it. We had no idea of how to get around on their domestic flights, what to do and how to book... More

we just finished our 4 day classic Inca trek. It was a great adventure and wonderful experience, due to the amazing crew of Apus Peru. We booked our trip with Matt at their office in Cusco. He was helpful, knowledgeable and very patient with our many questions and concerns. He offers tours all over Peru, so he is a great... More

As others have mentioned the Guide Urbano is exceptional and fascinating and the cook Remi (Ratatouille) a real character and also extremely good and flexible in his cooking. We asked for a remote and off the beaten track route and this was it; we suffered not so much from altitude but stomach issues from before the trek and they more... More

This will be a long review too so I will start at the beginning. This past April when I was in Cusco, I did the Salkantay trek and was so impressed with my guide Roger that I asked about other companies he worked with. He mentioned Apus Peru. When I got home I looked at the website and noticed it... More

My wife and I enjoyed an overnight trek to Rainbow Mountain with Apus Peru. They were very well organized, the equipment was good, and the guide was knowledgeable. The cook even made us an anniversary cake (a real feat on a camping trip.) Even with questionable weather (we encountered rain, wind, a bit of snow, and a few moments of... More

We opted for the Ancascocha trek as we wanted if possible to enjoy the mountains without the crowds. The trek was quite hard work but hugely satisfying and we were lucky with the weather. The Apus team on the trek were hard working, cheerful and competent. Our guide inspired great confidence and was knowledgeable as well as being excellent company.... More

I didn't know what to expect on a guided trek. I expected it to be great, but the five-day trek around Ausangate exceeded anything I had imagined. I can't say enough about the professionalism of Apus Peru. My traveling is limited, so I greatly appreciated knowing what to expect. Our guide, Urbano, what can I say? He was great. He... More

We did the half day tour of Cusco which included Qorikancha and 4 other places around Cusco. We are English speaking and couldn't understand the guide at all. Her voice was complete monotone. We had no time for any pictures and no time to see any of the places we visited. It was a complete wast of time. Today we... More

This review is not about our company, Apus Peru. We have not had a client by this name, nor doing this tour. Also, the photo shows a guide but she is not wearing a uniform. Our guides wear uniforms. We have asked Trip Advisor to remove this post as we believe it was posted erroneously to our page. thanks so... More

From the start the Apus Peru website gave all the right messages - environmental awareness, concern for local staff and support for Threads of Peru. Email discussions with Matt Waugh were really helpful and he suggested our final choice of trek, the Ancascocha alternative. For two experienced, but ageing (one of us was over Apus's stated maximum age!), mountain walkers,... More
