The Inca Trail really is one of those great travel experiences which doesn't let you down. You need to be reasonably fit, but beyond that no big issues. And we must confess that the three of us had a guide, a chef and 8 porters (plus air matresses and pillows) so it would be tough to argue this was a... More

We found Apus Peru after researching several operators who offered a 4-day Inca Trail hike. Many were rigid in their scheduling, but Apus Peru offered an upgrade for an extra day hike to Huayna Picchu, the peak you see in the background of Machu Picchu. That, in combination with their reputation for sustainable and responsible ecotourism prompted us to go... More

My 17 year old daughter and I (age 67) went on this adventure. The trek was arduous, the Andes are steep! We walked 4 to 6 hours a day and often moved as much 2000m vertically, up one day and down the next. It was magnificent! And we both recommend it. We were tired at the end of each day,... More

Dear BuTraveller, Thank you very much for sharing your experiences, especially regarding the difficulty of the Choquequirao to Machu Picchu trek! Yes it is difficult, but as you say it is also very achievable! We are also glad that you enjoyed our Glamping (Comfort Camping) option. We will pass on your kind words to Jose and Asterio. We would like... More

We had a group of 6 people on the Ausangate Trek (5 days and 4 nights). Our tour guide, Urbano, was amazing! His attention to detail, our safety and answering our million questions was incredible. I would highly recommend the Ausangate Trek and Urbano for anyone who wants to truly experience hiking in Peru. The entire crew for our trip... More

We were a group of 4 which made it a very enjoyable experience. We had a great cook who never left us hungry with a varied menu with plenty of thought & care taken with our meals. Our guide Wilbert was a wealth of information & I appreciated the way he started us off on the trek & then would... More

We went on two different treks with this company. 1st. Vinicunca 2 day trip. This seems like an unusual tour because most of the people were on the 1 day trip and they looked miserable. We took a slightly different route and camped at 14,900 feet. Woke up really early and finished climbing the mountain. Only one other group was... More

This was a custom package put together for 7 of us, culminating in trekking the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu , followed by a tour of the Galapagos. The whole experience was fantastic and Apus organisation greatly exceeded my expectations. The guides were superb- knowledgeable, very interesting and great people. The organisation of the trip was first rate, particularly when... More

I can't give a score that is too high for Apus! I highly recommend them! Apus (Carla) organized a three week trip for my university group through Peru and Bolivia. Our trip included the 4-day classic Inca trail trek as well as a 3-day visit to the Salar de Uyuni in southern Bolivia. Carla did a terrific job of communicating... More

Apus Peru organized two trips for our first time in Peru. We worked with Carla to get the trips scheduled for 3 couples. We all had slightly different itineraries but were able to work with Carla to get everything buttoned down 3 months before we left. Dear Neil P, Thank you for taking the time to write a detailed review of your experiences, especially describing the difficulty of the treks. As you say, the Choquequirao trek is quite strenuous but with an expert guide like Artur (Arturo) adjusting the pace and the campsites it is very possible. We are glad that you used the 'rescue pony'... More
