Wow--simply breathtaking in more ways than one! This was the most amazing experience, from the history to the challenge of the altitude, to the wonderful views and the friendships made. It will be difficult to top this experience! We have hiked a lot in the US, but nothing comes close to the Andes Mountains! There was a 360 degree view,... More

Sorry, this is long, I have a lot to say about this trek! Our sales rep, Matt at Apus Peru was very patient with us, as we made many changes to the plans. Our guide, Roger was great, he made sure that everything went smooth, all attractions, transportation, meals were covered. Our Chef, Herbert was great!! We stuffed ourselves at... More

We knew we wanted go to Machu Picchu but we weren't sure how to get there -- with my wife, me and our two teenaged children. Apus Peru was the perfect guide. They made all of the arrangements, provided a friendly, well-informed guide and gave us the experience of a lifetime. I highly recommend Apus Peru. They were great about... More

Dear BurghTraveler, Thanks so much for your review. We realise that for every group the trek experience needs to be different and spend time prior to booking working out the best option for you. In this case, I am glad that the 2 day trek was the right choice and we agree that Arturo is a top notch guide! We... More

We used Apus Peru to organize a trip to the virgen del Carmen festival in paucartambo, which runs over 3-4 days once a year. The Festival is a riot of colour, music and dance which turned out to be an absolute highlight of our 3 weeks in Peru. I had to change our international flights to make sure we would... More

Hello! We are so pleased that you rate this Festival as the highlight of your 3 weeks in Peru (and that it was worth changing your flights for!) We agree that it is a truly amazing festival and a once in a lifetime experience. We are also pleased that we managed to get you rooms in the school - they... More

Excellent 15 days trek in area where we saw seldom any other tourists - especially when we leave Choqueqiurao and even there we meet only two small group of tourists After that only people we met on our way were local people. In these 15 days we walked on dusty roads in mountain, we could appreciated old Inca trail -... More

Dear Vaclava74, Thank you for your honest review, that shares some of the benefits of trekking more slowly and having the time to truly explore the ruins along the way. Our Founders started out trekking this route back in 2004 and they still think that its a truly wonderful experience today. Few tourists, plenty of ruins and fantastic scenery -... More

The Inca Trail really is one of those great travel experiences which doesn't let you down. You need to be reasonably fit, but beyond that no big issues. And we must confess that the three of us had a guide, a chef and 8 porters (plus air matresses and pillows) so it would be tough to argue this was a... More

We found Apus Peru after researching several operators who offered a 4-day Inca Trail hike. Many were rigid in their scheduling, but Apus Peru offered an upgrade for an extra day hike to Huayna Picchu, the peak you see in the background of Machu Picchu. That, in combination with their reputation for sustainable and responsible ecotourism prompted us to go... More

My 17 year old daughter and I (age 67) went on this adventure. The trek was arduous, the Andes are steep! We walked 4 to 6 hours a day and often moved as much 2000m vertically, up one day and down the next. It was magnificent! And we both recommend it. We were tired at the end of each day,... More
