Trek with Apus is 5 star luxury trek, while also being 5 star sustainable. Our guide was great, the cook was amazing. Everything you might need is provided. We went with Apus to Choquequirao. It is challenging 40 km long with change in altitude of 1.5 kilometers in both directions. But APUS makes it easy and fun experience. Our guide was super friendly, highly knowledgeable of Peru and Choquequirao history, as well as skilled trekking guide. Our cook did miracles. Culinary experience in middle of Andes. And there was everything you might need. Purified water in any amounts, comfortable tent for dinner, private bathroom, mule if you get tired, oxygen if you get altitude sickness,... Amazing, highly recommended.

We travelled Peru with our kids (6 and 8 YO) for 3 weeks. So we have tried several tour guide operators so I believe I can fairly compare. Apus Peru are rare example of personal community approach. Any experience you choose has CSR or sustainable aspect which is very liberating for a tourist. You feel that by travelling you can contribute to those who share similar philosophy. Now more practical - we travelled with relatively small kids. The Apus Peru team was very helpful, tailored few things for us specifically and gave valuable advice. We get to places where you normally do not go with “standard guides” like the weaving community in Huaran. We had a chance to see flying condors above our heads. Kids were excited. We had great guide with good English (not always the case) and we felt taken care of. Just an example of all the above, it is not very common to get lunch package in paper pack not plastic one!

We were able to do a 4 day trek - Lares / Machu Picchu and an extra day to Rainbow Mountain. Our experience with the apus - peru Team was absolutely amazing. They took care of every detail and allowed us to enjoy our beautiful surroundings. This was the perfect trip to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary. We recommend anyone traveling to Peru for a true adventure reach out to this folks to handle the planning. Our guide Greco and the rest of the trekking team were FANTASTIC! Don and Lisa

We hiked an alternative route to Machu Picchu through the valley, stopping and camping at schools, and it was so perfectly run by this company! It was enjoyable, safe, and best of all we were hiking in a very small group of people, making it intimate and relaxing. Highly recommend.

We had an excellent trip with Apus Peru and our guide Mario. They made a custom trip for us for 5 days starting in Cuzco and going to Machu Picchu. So much rich history in the area, great view into local artists and farmers and Mario was very patient and helpful with our 2 and 5 year-olds and needing to cut a few items out to let the kids play. We even had early access to Machu Picchu and were the first group allowed in...what a mind boggling place!
