In 2012, I was in Peru but unable to see several ruins I had wanted to see. A guide from another company actually recommended Apus Tours as the company to contact for more custom treks to less travelled locations. That is what I did. Matt kept the lines of communication open. When the time was right, he put together this... More

In October 2016 a private group of four of us (in our 60’s) hiked the Salkantay route to Machu Picchu with Apus Peru (5 days; 4 nights including 3 nights camping and 1 in hotel in Aguas Calientes). It was a wonderful trek, starting above Mollepata, hiking higher still up to brisk Abra Salkantay on day 2. After that, the... More

My husband and I spent two weeks in Peru and requested a three day Inca Trail hike instead of four, and Apus made it happen without any issues. Our guide was fantastic (ask for Herbert!) - incredibly knowledgeable, motivating, supportive, fun and friendly. All of the food was beyond expectation and the service unbelievable. All of the equipment we rented... More

I and two friends trekked the the Choquequirao, Salkantay,Inca Trail in early November and were part of a small group numbering six in total. Apus Peru staff both in their office and in particular our trekking crew were excellent, well organised and extremely helpful throughout our trip. Our guide William deserves a special mention. His never ending patience, kindness and good humour... More

I booked this trek with 2 friends but left it open for others to join. In the end 6 of us went mid November. This is meant to be wet season but we had only one day of rain - and the couds make for a more interesting view - the rain broke when we were camped overlooking Machu Picchu... More

We wanted to go to Peru, but had little idea of where to start in putting our trip together. We love adventure, and knew we wanted to do some of the "basics" like Machu Picchu, but that was about it. We had no idea of how to get around on their domestic flights, what to do and how to book... More

we just finished our 4 day classic Inca trek. It was a great adventure and wonderful experience, due to the amazing crew of Apus Peru. We booked our trip with Matt at their office in Cusco. He was helpful, knowledgeable and very patient with our many questions and concerns. He offers tours all over Peru, so he is a great... More

As others have mentioned the Guide Urbano is exceptional and fascinating and the cook Remi (Ratatouille) a real character and also extremely good and flexible in his cooking. We asked for a remote and off the beaten track route and this was it; we suffered not so much from altitude but stomach issues from before the trek and they more... More

This will be a long review too so I will start at the beginning. This past April when I was in Cusco, I did the Salkantay trek and was so impressed with my guide Roger that I asked about other companies he worked with. He mentioned Apus Peru. When I got home I looked at the website and noticed it... More

My wife and I enjoyed an overnight trek to Rainbow Mountain with Apus Peru. They were very well organized, the equipment was good, and the guide was knowledgeable. The cook even made us an anniversary cake (a real feat on a camping trip.) Even with questionable weather (we encountered rain, wind, a bit of snow, and a few moments of... More
