Ausangate Trek - Private or Small group of 4 only

Ausangate is located south east of the city of Cusco and its summit is about 19,000 feet above sea level. It is crowned by majestic glaciers, and since ancient times is considered one of the major deities in this area. In Incan mythology, Ausungate is considered as the keeper of llamas and alpacas, and is revered by the natives as the region is inhabited by llama and alpaca herding communities–one of the few remaining pastoralist societies in the world. High mountain trails are used by these herders to trade with agricultural communities at lower elevations. One of these trails, “the road of the Apu Ausangate”, is considered one of the most renowned treks in Peru.

Taking this trip was one of the most exciting adventures I had last year. I always wanted to know the wild Peru and do it with the right company, made it unforgettable. I thank and recommend the team that led us there, they were an amazing company, reliable and friendly. Those 4 days of walking were challenging, but totally rewarding. I still think that the view of the Andes landscape is somehow healing. Totally recomended!

What a fantastic experience! We were four friends, in excitement to take a tour of Peru and let Camina Los Andes to manage all the preparation for hiking, day trips, hotel and accommodation facilities, allows bookings and all, etc. They did an excellent job of arranging and handling each and everything on our journey. It was designed entirely, taking our comfort under consideration. We were picked from the airport in Cusco, and they made us feel right at home all along our journey. The Ausangate trek got harder for us due to the rare snow and mud for that time of year, but they managed it with relentless effort and encouragement, as nothing happened in the first place. The entire crew made us feel as if we were a part of their family. At high altitude, they cooked us the yummiest meals and also once served as freshly baked cake. We were given a wool scarf, a fleece lining, a soft pillow, and bottles of warm water to carry in our backpacks. The camping equipment was of very high quality and in excellent condition! Now, I can't imagine doing it any other way; they have set the bar to us big. Booking them was one of the most fabulous options we've made. They even dropped us back at the airport and welcomed us with warm hugs as we came back. I have created memories that I will never forget. I would suggest that you book them with confidence.

Review of: Inca Trail
The excellent quality of its services, the high level of collaboration and commitment to our family. They have a great command of interpersonal relationships; that inspire confidence and trust. They stand out for their dedication, the extensive knowledge of the Inca Trail, the use of the native language (Quechua) give added value to CAMINA LOS ANDES.
