We worked with Rob from Escaped to Latin America to put together a custom South American trip. Rob was so helpful in answering our questions, providing guidance and suggestions and making changes to our itinerary as we honed in on what we truly wanted to explore. Sadly due to Covid our trip was cancelled (for the time being). Rob and Gary worked tirelessly to refund our entire deposit even though some of the in country airlines we booked with went out of business. We really appreciate the professional way they handled this unprecedented time in the world of travel. When it is safe for us to travel we will for sure use Escaped to Latin America.

I could not be more complimentary about this Peru trip, the organizer, and the ground support. We actually booked in 2019 for 2020, and finally visited in May 2022 following pandemic shut downs and concerns. Rob Middleton was terrific throughout this time running many many itinerary iterations subject to health concerns and timing; coordination of available flights - international, domestic, Nazca Lines; and Amazon availability. Ultimately he arranged a custom 14 day trip for just my wife and me. Included were Paracas with Ballestas Islands and Nazca Lines flight (gotta do this), 2nd day on own for Machu Picchu in case of clouds and very worth it even with our good weather, an extra day in the Sacred Valley which I highly recommend for additional sites especially the high Pisac terraces (pic), and 4 days in the Amazon. The ground support was seamless, with a driver/guide on spot for every day's activity.

We had a wonderful day of wine tasting in the Casablanca valley, Kylie was our guide and she was very knowledgeable and great fun to be with. We tasted at both large and small wineries with some great intimate experiences and behind the scenes looks. We also had an amazing 5 course prix fixe' lunch with paired wines at Casas del Bosque winery, would highly recommend.

Just got back from a 3 1/2 week trip to Peru and Ecuador. Had to hike Machu Picchu and snorkel Galapagos. Everything else was icing on the cake that I left up to Rob at Escaped to Latin America. Not one hitch or gliche. Every single pick up, transfer, drop off was punctual and as planned. I did not stress once on this trip- the services were punctual, professional, excellent English speaking guides, great accommodations and safe clean vehicles and drivers. Would use this company again in a minute. Thanks Rob and Gary. Did take prescribed anti-altitude meds that really helped make the whole experience even better.

We tasked Rob with a slightly unusual and last minute vacation request - to combine an Ayahuasca/ wellness retreat with a visit to the Amazon, and a Galapagos cruise, if possible ... and he certainly didn't disappoint! After researching and then presenting us with a list of the best available Retreats throughout various countries in Latin America, he booked us on a 7 day retreat at the incredible Nada Brahma retreat in Costa Rica, and then built the rest of the itinerary around it a heavily discounted luxury cruise and some time exploring in and around Quito.
The whole trip went like clockwork, it was surreal and spectacular in equal measure, and we are immensely grateful for all of Rob's help in planning what was truly the trip of a lifetime.

On the recommendation of friends we arranged a trip to Peru (including a four day trek to Machu Picchu) and to Ecuador (including a four day cruise to the Galapagos) through Escaped to Latin America. Many thanks to Gary Sargent for pulling the plan together. Everything went smoothly and punctually.
There were a great many highlights on the programme, Cusco is beautiful, the Sacred Valley is full of awe inspiring sites, and the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu really gives a great introduction to the landscape, archaeology and history fully essential to appreciate Machu Picchu itself. A very special thank you to Yaritza Frisancho Chavez, our guide, togehter, with the fantastic chef and porters who led us through the route (the team came from Lima Tours). The overall programme also allowed us to see some genuinely interesting craft and culture demos (ie not just sales pitches) and to have a great trip to Lima (a fantastic half day gastronomy tour, strongly recommended, followed by an equally interesting city tour, make sure you go to the Fountain park at the end of the day). Ecuador was a great experience too (we went with Go Galapagos) and Rodrigo was a fine guide to the city. The cruise was a delight, informative, stimulating, and relaxing at the same time. Again we were blessed with superb guides.

We've just returned from the amazing trip to Peru which we booked with Escaped to Latin America company (Escape to Peru division). This tour was originally booked in 2019 for April 2020 with Rob as out agent. Everything was customized for our needs, like we added Nazca Lines and some free days in Cusco and Lima, added more days in Sacred Valley, etc. Before we could travel Covid came, so we moved our trip to fall 2020, then spring 2021 and finally to spring 2022 and this time it worked.
All this time Rob was keeping in touch about what was going on in Peru with the pandemic and he was moving all our tours and tickets, including internal flights with Latam without any charge and complains. This was nice comparing with the headache we had, trying to move flight tickets with Latam and United airlines from Canada to Peru and back.
Most of our trip went as planned, except for our visit to Lake Titicaca. JUL airport just decided to cancel all flights for a week, the day we supposed to fly there. We've contacted Escape to Peru and they worked with the Condor Travel, our operator on the ground, so we had everything resolved before the end of the day with some itinerary change.
So the travel was managed very well, and we certainly will travel with Escape to Latin America in the future.

We use Escaped to Latin America to create a wonderful vacation to Peru (Machu Picchu). They developed the itinerary designed based on what we wanted to see and do. They planned for local guides, transportation, restaurants and boutique hotels throughout the entire trip from Lima to Machu Picchu and back. I highly recommend this group.

We had a superb time in Cusco and Machu Picchu, what an amazing place! The trip ran really well from start to finish, and the weather played ball also, a major bonus to see all the sites in beautiful sunshine. Argentina on the cards for the next trip with Escaped Travel.

My husband and I recently traveled to Chile with our 21 year old daughter for a wine trip. We specifically chose Escaped to Latin America because of the initial communication, response time, and apparent knowledge of the area and wines. I can say without a doubt that all of those things continued to be strengths throughout the entirety of the trip. Communication was top notch from start to finish which I find to be so important when both planning and executing a trip abroad.
We did three days in Colchagua Valley followed by a full day in Casablanca Valley. Each day was a spectacular experience:
* Well thought out from a logistical perspective (no excess driving or waiting around for tours to start)
* A good mix of tastings, cellars and barrel rooms, vineyard tours and production tours.
* All of the lunches were amazing (high quality food with incredible views)
* The properties we visited were all set on gorgeous, fairytale type locations.
* The wines in both areas (Colchagua and Casablanca) were fantastic quality wines which made for an amazing experience.
Gary was with us the entire time and his wealth of knowledge about wines (worldwide not just Chilean) was very impressive. He offered information along the way that made the experience both fun and educational. My husband and I have done many, many, wine focused trips throughout the world, and this was one of the very best! We enjoyed Gary’s company from start to finish and his expertise in both wine and tourism were so very evident and valuable every step of the way.
The only problem we ran into was trying to decide which wines to bring home due to limited carrying capacity!
We made so many memories that will last a lifetime.
I can not recommend this type of tour and company enough.

We are leaving for Peru on September 1, 2017. Have few questions
What to pack? Is it hot, warm, or cold. Do we need light jacket or thick warm jacket.
Shorts, skirts, summer dresses or Capri, leggings and jeans are better? Did it rain a lot? Rain gears? And umbrellas? Keen sandles or hiking shoes for September weather? We are going to be in Amazon for 4 days? What kind of outfits should,we bring.
Mosquito repellent needed or not?
Any information regarding vegan food will be appreciated.

Hi Sylvia
Rob sent your TOT 5 days ago he tells me, please check your spam filter for an attachment (attachments often get trapped by email filters), plus he has just re-sent the document 5 minutes ago as we did a quick search of your travel dates to find you.
You are good to go and have a great trip.

Why am I not getting the final details and pick up time for my holiday booked with Escaped to Latin America? We are due to arrive in Peru on Friday 4th September, 2015.
Written August 18, 2015
Hello, our Final Tour Overview and Timings document (TOT) is normally sent out around 2 weeks before you travel. Minor changes to train and airline schedules sometimes happen and we prefer not to send out several updated TOTs, and just wait until we have all timings set before doing so.
Can you send us your name so we can check your file please, we will then be in touch.
Kind Regards
Gary
