About
We have expanded our colonial house into a very modern INN & Spa. But left it's original landmarks, such as inka walls which are thousands of years old, combining historic and modern structure. Our INN is the place to be. Your Hosts at Samana INN & Spa are Juan Manuel Leon and Louise Hodgson. We are a Peruvian/English family here in Cusco, we will help you to get around town giving you the best tips and good recommendations to make you fell like you are home away from home. We are located at Tecsecocha 536, in down town only 2 blocks away from the main square of Cusco, 5 to 10 minutes walking distance to all the major landmarks of the city also really close to the best restaurants, shops, travel agencies, coffee shops, and more. From our team at Samana Spa and Salon we are looking forward to your visit. Sincerely Juan Manuel Leon and Louise Hodgson

My stay with Samana Inn & Spa was nothing short of magical. Looking out of the floor-to-ceiling windows of our gorgeous bedroom, all we could see were the endless titled roofs of Cusco with mountains off in the distance. At night we opened the curtains to watch the twinkling lights of the town. In the morning, we were happily woken to the sounds of the nearby churchbells. It most certainly was the most romantic hotel I've ever stayed at.

Aside from loving the room itself, I loved the medieval details like the cobblestone walls and the giant lanterns in the staircases. Everything about this place felt charming. With only 4 rooms available, you almost feel like you have the place to yourself The complimentary breakfast is made to order by one of the super friendly staff members. Breakfast consists of freshly cut fruit, eggs and break with some of the best jam I've ever had. We had to be up and out early for a trek and they were more than willing to get breakfast going for us at an early hour.

The Inn is centrally located, but is located just enough off the beaten path that you're not in a loud area.

The only thing that could have possibly made our stay better would be if we were able to experience one of the raved about spa treatments. The owner, Juan Manuel is a trained and certified massage therapist. He was so accommodating and had an appointment made for us, but we had to cancel at the last minute as our train was late coming in from Aguas Calientes. So sad we missed out, but hopefully next time!

If you're looking to for a true Inn experience with personalized attention and unparalleled views of the city in a charming & romantic setting, I couldn't recommend Samana Inn & Spa higher.

Decided to try this 'upscale' place on 28th December after the inca trail. Paid (for Peru) an expensive price for the 'jet lag relief package' which included two types of sauna, jacuzzi and massage. It was advertised as deep tissue or Swedish massage, but we weren't given an option. Massage was terrible -more like rubbing oil into our backs with no idea whatsoever. When we were paying, we politely said how disappointed we were with the massages. The guy sympathized and told us as it was holiday season their masseurs were on vacation and they had to get local ladies in who had no training! We were amazed he admitted this and that we had not been told when we booked. We were offered a measly discount between us, less than 5 percent of what we paid for the whole service. Felt ripped off and very sorry for the ladies that actually did the massage as I'm sure they did their best. Please don't bother with this place!

We booked a package deal that included a mani-pedi and massage. The massage was wonderful and reasonably priced, perfect for post-hiking. But skip the mani pedi. That was awful. First off, the spa is in a beautiful stone building, but that means its freezing - I shivvered through the mani pedi! And no hot water soak for the feet, like we are used to in the states. Didn't do cuticles, etc - just applied paint and there were only 4 or 5 colors to choose from.

I was desperate for a pedicure at the end of my trip, so I was willing to pay the price (same price as I pay in the US), which I thought must be very high for Peru. And then at the front desk they charged me a premium to "convert" their dollar price into soles, telling me "I'm sorry, but we're not an exchange house." Which is interesting, because isn't the sol the national currency of Peru? How ridiculous and annoying!

This is a little inn in the old part of Cusco. It is so handy to many good restaurants and the square. The host is very helpful and gave us good restaurant suggestions and advice on Aguas Callientes. The rooms are nice with a very comfortable bed and heater. We were even provided with hot water bottles at night and as much coco tea as you want. The breakfast is very nice also. Highly recommend this place to stay.

We stayed in April for 3 nights before, and one night after doing the Inca Trail. The staff were all very welcoming and kind, English being spoken very well by most of the staff. We had first a first floor room which was great(Quiet, comfy big bed, hot power shower, TV.) and on our return night the top floor room which had superb views of Cusco,(again amazingly big, comfy bed, hot power shower, TV) Breakfast was always lovely, coffee, fresh squeezed orange, eggs, fresh fruit and bread. We had the offer of water or coca tea whenever we arrived back which was served in our room. The hotel is centrally based on a quiet side road within 2 mins walk of the main square and restaurants, shops, tours.
We also had a couples jacuzzi treatment with champagne, which was so relaxing. It was a great price too.
I would recommend staying here when you travel to Cusco.
A tip for Cusco-Just be aware of taxi's from the airport trying to scam you!!

I guess I was expecting more given some of the raves here. It was just an OK massage. A bit hurried and certainly not the most intuitive massage therapist. She just kept doing her thing while ignoring the clues I was giving her as to which muscle groups needed attention. They are also hard to get on the phone. Even though their door sign says they open at 11 am, it was not till 2 pm that I was able to get somebody on the phone despite many attempts. Cleanliness was also not best.

Stayed here for 3 nights following our Machu Picchu trek and would highly recommend. The staff are all lovely and so happy to help, the breakfast was great. The rooms were clean and so comfy and the massage package at the spa was well worth the money. The hotel is situation in a great location, would highly recommend!
