We are very impressed with the professional service provided by Oscar of Orange Nation.
We were provided care and meticulous attention to details from Cisco, Machu Picchu, Rainbow Mountain and Puno. First of all , I have checked around that only Orange Nation provided this exact itinerary we asked for, and it was 80% private tour for just the 3 of us. Hotels selected are centrally located and like a 4 stars category.
The vehicle chosen has spacious legroom, so you can stretch your legs after the long hike. Oscar has made the best recommendations according to our need, for example, Rainbow Mountain has the highest 5,000 metres, so the high attitude sickness can make us uncomfortable, he booked horseback riding for us. It’s the best combo that we didn’t have to catch our breath as the horses did the the strenuous part for us, so we save our energy by hiking up to the summit as the last and most important part of the journey. He also went over our itinerary daily. Food was always there once we arrived at the restaurants, making sure there’s no time to wait. We wish to have more time to spend in Perú and would definitely recommend Oscar be your guide and choose Orange Nation!

We originally planned to hike the Inca Trail, but when we found out the track was closed for maintenance, the sales team quickly and efficiently arranged the Salkantay trek for us. Their responsiveness and professionalism made the transition effortless.
What an unforgettable experience! We were offered plenty of options to tailor the journey to our needs, making it feel truly personalized. The food was outstanding—every meal was a delight—and to our surprise, the team even baked a cake for my wife’s birthday on the third day. It was such a thoughtful and unexpected gesture, made even more special when everyone joined in to sing “Happy Birthday.”
A huge thank you to our incredible guide, Oscar, who brought so much insight and energy to the trek. The talented chefs, Fortunado and Nicanor, kept us well-fed with delicious meals, always exceeding expectations. And a special mention to Nicanor, our horseman, who was both helpful and friendly throughout the journey—his support made everything even smoother.
The trek itself was breathtaking, the service exceptional, and the entire experience is one we will treasure forever. If you’re considering the Salkantay trek, this team will make it truly special!

Visiting Machu Picchu through the 4-day Inca trail hike was an amazing experience thanks to our guide, Miguel, the chef, Fortunato, the porters and the company’s organizing. Orange Nation/Sam Travel specialise in small groups (max 6-8), so in the end we receieved a private tour for the 2 of us, with our own guide, own chef and 5 porters. Everyday we recieved delicious breakfast and 3 course meals for lunch and dinner, which seemed impossible in the middle of nowhere. Miguel made sure that we are always comfortable, ensured a great atmosphere during the full hike and knew the answers to all of our questions about all the Inca sites along the way. I highly recommend choosing Orange Nation/Sam Travel for you Inca trail hike and especially Miguel as your guide if you want a friendly, family-like experience, tailored to your needs, instead of big roups.

Our group of 5 hiked the Inca Trail in early May 2024. We were lucky enough to be the only ones on our 4-day trek, so we got extra special attention! Our tour guide Auqui was so patient and attentive, helping us with any problem that came up. He was also extremely knowledgeable about Inca history, wildlife, geography, and local culture— we learned so much on our trip! This, along with his kindness and great sense of humor, I wouldn’t have wanted anyone else to lead us through this incredible trek!
Another thing that stood out about the trip was the food. The 4-day trek is extremely strenuous, but the amazing food gave us the fuel we needed to keep going. Chef Julio Cesar and his assistant really did an incredible job— each meal was a unique and wonderful surprise, and how they managed to do it in the middle of the jungle is a true mystery.
Last but not least, Lucio and his team of superhuman porters were the strongest, bravest, and sweetest people I have ever met! They carried nearly all of our belongings, set up beautiful and comfortable camps, and woke us up every morning with hot coca tea in our tents. They really make the trip as comfortable and luxurious as possible considering the circumstances. These heroes are the backbone (literally) of the entire trip!
Thank you SAM for an amazing experience!! I highly recommend this local company for a great journey down the Inca Trail and through the surrounding area.

We had an amazing experience with Orange Nation, really recommend! We booked the 4 day hike to the Macchu Picchu through Salkantay trail and it was so awesome, the guide Danny and the team of the two cooks Vicente and Ever made really their best to enhance at the maximum the experience, always at disposal and extremely attentive to all our needs. Danny, very knowledgeable, satisfied all our curiosities on Peru and always gave us support during the whole challenging hike. Vicente and Ever never finished to surprise us with their unbelievable culinary creations and efficient logistics. I will always associate Peru with the incredible experience gifted by Orange Nation!

We just finished our 4 day trek with Orange Nation. It was an amazing experience that we will never forget! We are so happy we decided to book with Orange compared to other operators we saw on the trail. We had a small group of of only 5 and the staff was first class. Our guide Oscar was incredibly energetic, knowledgeable, funny and went above and beyond to make our trip memorable and our chef Julio made us fantastic meals all trip long. Would highly recommend!

We came from Choquequirao to visit Machu Picchu and even after all the unforgettable moments in the trekking with Jhony as our guide Machu Picchu was truly memorable. Having tickets for the 6 AM entr was fantastic as it allowed us to explore with fewer crowds and witness the fog lifting over the ruins. Jhony's deep knowledge and passion for the history and culture of Machu Picchu made the experience much richer. It was easy to follow his explanations and we had enough time to explore the ruins part by part. I would highly recommend Jhony as a guide and this tour to anyone looking to explore Machu Picchu in a meaningful way.

We had our 4D3N Inca trail with Johnny and Maribel in March 2024. Some parts are challenging but the whole journey is a once in a lifetime experience. I was taken care of very well by our two tour guide. I can always see them walking behind me when I fell behind the rest of the group. Johnny offered to take my backpack for me multiple times when I was struggling with the uphill/downhill, which I really appreciated. Maribel is like a mom figure to our group. She doesn’t talk much but she did a lot of small little things for us - she took care of our belongings when it was raining, helped to take our trekking poles when we took pictures, and always checking in with us to see if we’re doing okay. They are both very kind and professional tour guide. I couldn’t do this without them.
Food was also amazing - I was surprised that the chefs were able to make such yummy meals with limited resources. The porters were great too - they carried me to finish the steep descent when I was struggling with knee pain.
I wanted to say thank you, Johnny and Maribel. And I highly recommend this experience to anyone that’s interested in outdoor activities.

Wow, Antonio Perez and SamPeru really created an amazing experience. After a 4 day Inca Trail, Antonio met us to guide us from Cusco to a Lake Titicaca. What an amazing trip - from the history discussed in the car ride to the coordination of the boat ride to Amantani Island. Our homestay was so enjoyable, visiting with the family, sharing meals and later dancing to music! The hike up to Pachamama yielded one of the most beautiful sunsets I have ever seen. Thank you Antonio for your expertise, patience with my Spanish and professional demeanor! Great work!!!

We booked a private tour to Huacrapukara through the travel agency Sam travel. The tour was very well organized. We were picked up from the hotel at 4:00 in the morning. After 2 hours we had an excellent breakfast and then we went up and down the mountains on narrow roads. Zadam chauffeured us safely and well through the mountains at all times. Henry, our guide, responded to our every wish to stop and so we were able to experience crossing llamas up close. The hike was a highlight of our trip to Peru. Henry was able to answer our questions and knew so much about the history. We would recommend the trip to anyone and especially Zadam and Henry. We laughed a lot. And experienced wonderful moments. Full stars from us 🌟 . Any time again!

We are in Cusco looking for a good local company for the Lares Trek, we found Orange nation but they have very few reviews.. has anyone done any tour or trek with them?

Orange Nation looks like small and young company but they are very professional and well stablished operator in Cusco, we just got back home after having a great experience with them, our guide Henrry was the best part of the trip.
