For all the tours (vinicunca, Machu Picchu, Sacre valley) please ask for Javier! He is a wonderful guide tourist, he is patient, educated and very kind. If you go to Puno please ask for Jose Luis, he will make sure to give you a vip tour! He is awesome. Luis is a guide that will make you fill empower! Raul as driver will make you have a ton of fun!
General speaking it is a great agency. I would suggest a little bit of communication, for example our day to humantay we were not told that they close the highway and if we didn't make it before 3:30 pm we would have to wait 2 hours to have the freeway open again. That day if I were told about that I would definitely skip the lunch so we could arrive earlier to cusco.
I like everything, except that when we came from Puno to Cusco, we had to wait 40 minutes and actually I have to turn on my mobile data to inform John nobody was there to pick them up us. That it was really annoying, specially because it was early morning, we were tired and waiting 40 min for someone to pick up us was really upsetting.
Another tip: if you need last minute changes on your itinerary try to do it on your side so probably you will save some money. We need to change Puno's ticket and that was 70 USD, then doing some research on our own once we have a good wifi it seems that if we did it by ourselves it would be cheaper. We also have to book a day in cusco the day we were leaving and doing it trough the agency would be 60 dls but we did it ourselves and it was 48 dls.
Overall it is a good agency but the most important they have the best tourist guides: Javier, José Luis at Puno, Raul as driver and Luis made our vacation really enjoyable.

The entire tour was spectacular! Our guide, Charly, was INCREDIBLE..His assistant, Luis and the drivers were also professional, kind and helpful..Charly was incredibly knowledgeable about every topic during our different excursions..His team was sensitive to our every need..Some in our group experienced altitude challenges and Charly and Luis prepared us to deal with it..Every question that we had was answered instantly and accurately..We had wonderful experiences at Ollantaytambo, other archaeological sites, quaint areas, as well as Sacred Valley, Machu Picchu and Rainbow Valley..All meals that were included were excellent and the hotel accommodations exceeded my expectation! Next travel adventure will definitely be through Machu Picchu Tours and hopefully be directed by Charly and his professional team!!

"Highly recommend Machu Picchu Tours!
Thanks to John and his team at Machu Picchu Tours, I had the most unbelievable experience in Peru! This trip to Peru was all I dreamed it would be! From the first phone call my bestfriend Hilda made to John to getting dropped off at the Cusco airport by our driver Danny. Everything just felt right! I personally spoke with John within a few weeks of our trip with my demands of sites I wanted to visit. He was the most kind and so helpful on the phone and via email. Everything was so well organized! I have to say I did feel a little skeptical at first because he sounded so reassuring from the start. Here we were, 2 bestfriends traveling to South America for the first time and trusting every word he was saying to us. So we went ahead and booked with Machu Picchu Tours but I have to say they exceeded all my expectations! He went above and beyond to make this was the most memorable Birthday trip for me! Now I am back in the US, wishing everyday I would have stayed a little longer. We were there for 11 days and 10 nights, with a full itinerary of the most amazing spots to check out from Cusco. Really what is there not to love about Peru? Thankfully everything went great for us! We were on time to all of our sites and even though one of the mountains were not open for us, we were able to visit the Rainbow Mountains via another entrance at Palccoyo. I was blown away by the attention to details and the organization of my trip. I was very impressed with the professionalism, kindness and humbleness of John and his team (Luis Alberto and Danny). They were very trustworthy gentlemen! I was blown away by their knowledge, great spirits and willingness to show us more. I wanted nothing more than to feel as a native of their country. I wanted to feel as happy and proud of their heritage. I wanted to be embodied in their rich culture. I wanted to see and eat everything! I was just so happy! I want to say if you are looking at which company to book with, look no further. Machu Picchu Tours is it! John will personalize your trip too and I guarantee you it will be as memorable if not over the top for you as it was for me. I travelled to Peru in October and had an amazing time. John is a great tour guide, he is very informative, helpful and a lovely guy. He did all he could to make sure we all had everything we needed. During the 4 days trekking the Inca Trail he kept us motivated and made the experience fun. Also excellent at taking photos for you to remember the experience long after you have left and your muscles no longer ache. Me and my friend were at the back as our group was faster than us and he never made us feel like we were slow. If anyone is thinking of doing a tour I highly recommend John as he is somebody who looks after his guests well!

I decided to take my first solo trip, not knowing what to expect. So, I decided to travel with John from the company to Peru, a country and continent I hadn’t been to before. From the get-go, John was friendly and welcoming and made me, and the rest of the group, feel right at home.
Throughout the entire busy schedule, John kept us motivated and excited as we weaved our way through the magical sights of Peru, Cusco, the Inca Trail and Machu Picchu. He is incredibly informative, knowledgeable and kind. He definitely made the Peru experience worthwhile, and I’d highly recommend travelling with him!

Our guide Adolfo and chef Isaco took great care of us. We for hiked 4 days, slept 2 nights in a tent and the last night in a hotel in Aquas Calientes. It was a challenging hike, definitely because of the altitude, but Adolfo was a great guide. He has parametric experience so knows very well how to get you through it. He told us always “poquito poquito“ take small steps to reach the top and that works !
Besides that, Isaco prepares you the most delicious meals on the way. 4 different dishes is not an exception. Isaco even made me a birthday cake with the little camping equipment he had. Didn’t see that coming.
We were very well taken care of! Would for sure recommend.

I had an incredible 2 weeks in Peru in May 2019 and tours like this one really make the difference when it comes to travelling solo. John was an amazing tour guide who answered all of all questions and also helped me out massively when I got a bit sick from some

Such a wonderful experience. The crew took care of us 100% of the way. It was great not having to worry about tickets or entry passes. Charly was so knowledgeable about all the places we went and was a fantastic host making sure we were well taken care of. I would highly recommend this tour service to friends and would even come back for round 2 and see more of this wonderful country.

My favourite part was the history lessons we received from Charlie and his motivation for me to complete each challenge I.e. rainbow mountain. I did it!! Every step of the tour was phenomenal from the “what’s up next” to the room selections to the meals to the travel arrangements. I will highly recommend Machu Picchu tours to all our friends.

John and his crew were beyond amazing! We did two separate tours, one full day and one half day. Both were extremely informative and gave us a great understanding of the culture and history of Peru. John was well organized and truly took great care of us. I felt like he went out of his way to make sure we were comfortable and completely happy. We definitely were! He is just a great guy and I highly recommend booking with him.
