Our group of 6 had the pleasure of two tours with Elvis (Roque Gota) - a great walking tour of Cusco, as well as the fabulous 4-day Inca Trail tour. Elvis communicated the history, spirit and heart of Cusco as we toured the Plaza de Armas, the Catedral Basílica de la Virgen de la Asunción, and the incredibly interesting Qurikancha museum. During our Cusco stay, prior to connecting with Elvis, we had been on some sketchy tours of the immediate area, as well as the Sacred Valley. Some of those guides told us such dubious info we were relieved to connect with Elvis, who corrected so many odd tales we had heard. Example: We had been told Inca ceremonial temples were built at the top of hills so they were closer to the sun when worshoping it. Elvis gratefully informed us it was more about being connected with all aspects of the mother earth as well (Pachamama), especially poinient from the highest of vantage points. This made way more sense, especially when onsite. Elvis' deep knowledge, respect, and love of his culture were clear yet appropriately subtle during our 4-day adventure, eventually to Machu Picchu. I thought I was traveling with 5 treasured family members, but Elvis quickly made it six. I struggled at times with the altitude, and Elvis was right there to teach me improved breathing techniques and how to best pace myself. He ensured we all not only completed the trek together, but we enjoyed it too! With such great knowledge imparted along the way. Elvis surprised us as well with his remarkable phone camera photography skills – so many treasured photos at his artistic direction! There is no doubt there is something very special spirtually about Peru. With Elvis providing the backstories and eductaion, the experience and learning about the Inca and pre-Inca times is an amazing must do adventure. Thank you Elvis, we cannot wait to return someday hopefully soon!!

Rainbow mountain was so beyond beautiful! We added this tour last minute and did it on our first official day in Cusco! (Not the smartest idea since elevation is super high especially coming from sea level! Even higher than Cusco!) We met up with Elvis (one of the guides from Kenko) the night we arrived in Cusco. Having so much experience with tourists in the area, he recommended, since we were coming from California and not acclimatized to the elevation, to use horses at Rainbow mountain and that was the best decision! Instead of being passed out on the side of the mountain like so many people, we were able to experience and enjoy Rainbow mountain! Our guide Franklin even had an extra oxygen tank in case we needed it. Not only is everything planned so smoothly by their team, the guides and drivers are the sweetest people on the planet. Franklin was so funny and made us laugh constantly and he so knowledgeable about the mountain. The whole time you could sense how excited they were to share their beautiful country with us which often isn't seen being an American tourist in other countries. I would highly recommended this tour company for anyone looking for private services that exceed expectations at every level. Oh and best part is, the guides are the best photographers so you will for sure go home with some amazing memories!

It was the most incredible experience and it would not have been possible without Kenko Adventures. When I first booked my trip to Peru, Machu Picchu was completely sold out. Why travel to Peru and miss out on the highlight of the trip!? I called several tour companies and finally ended on Kenko Adventures and could not have been luckier that I did. All I had to do was tell them what I wanted to see and they made it all happen. Food, shuttles, trains, hotels... everything they coordinated and best part was everything was private services with private shuttles and totally at our own pace. We were picked up at the airport by Kenko and that night, Elvis (our guide) came to the hotel and explained our entire tour to us and what we needed. Since I was limited on time, I asked to modify my tours so I can see everything I wanted and Kenko made it happen. Our guide picked us up from the Skylodge adventure suites, took us to see the highlights of the sacred valley and then the next day we began our Inca trail hike. I even asked to add the Rainbow Mountain tour last minute and they made it happen! Elvis even recommended to us since we were coming from California and not acclimatized to the elevation, to use horses at Rainbow mountain and that was the best decision! Instead of being passed out on the side of the mountain like so many people, we were able to experience and enjoy Rainbow mountain! Not only is everything planned so smoothly by their team, the guides and drivers are the sweetest people on the planet. The whole time you could sense how excited they were to share their beautiful country with us which often isn't seen being an American tourist in other countries. Not only did they answer my thousand questions before the trip so promptly and during our tours, they did it all with smiles on their faces. It was like travelling with family and not a guide. In this experience, I loved the glamping aspect since we were put up in a beautiful hotel after our Inca trail hike which allowed us to shower and be fresh for our next day at Machu Picchu. We also were able to take the Peru rail train which was this train with windows everywhere that allowed us to marvel in the scenery. While others were eating boring snacks on the trail, Kenko made sure to pack us gourmet style boxed lunches from a restaurant that was so delicious. Also, for the price, this is such a steal. We compared several companies when we got to Cusco and for maybe like $20-$30 extra per person, you get a customized private tour that is all done at your own pace! It was worth every dollar! Unless you like being on a bus full of tourists and annoying people, this is the ideal and perfect way to travel! I would highly recommended this tour company for anyone looking for private services that exceed expectations at every level. Oh and best part is, the guides are the best photographers so you will for sure go home with some amazing memories!

Spent 2 days with Elvis on the Short Inca Trail trek to Machu Picchu. I was traveling solo and hired Elvis to be my guide. The trail was much harder for me than I had anticipated but Elvis was great and stayed with me, helping me pace myself and keeping me motivated so that I was able to complete the trek! He was also an excellent photographer and offered to take many photos for me to remember my journey. Couldn’t have asked for a better experience for my bucket list trip to Machu Picchu!
